  1. If a resort is going to say it's a legal thing (to not have outside vendors) at least give us the option to use 1 or 2 outside vendors. Example 2 vendors for flowers 1 or 2 vendors for photography)
  2. I hear you staying motivated is hard. I'm heading to gym shortly. In addition to the dukan diet I'm Adding strengthening exercises to help speed up the weight loss. I've done really well and I'm terrified what will happen in August when I head home for a week. It's hard to say NO to fried chicken and biscuits (I'm from down south). It's hard not to find anything fried! Good luck with re-starting the program. Keep the dress in mind as motivation. Mine is trying to look like Kate Middleton on her wedding day. I'm worried about her now she is now too skinny (still beautiful)! I know they must have her all over the news this week that she and prince William are in Canada!
  3. I would have to agree that I've been amazed at how much I don't miss carbs, except chocolate. My only fix has been fat free/sugar free jello pudding. It's been easy to incorporate and my FI is making comments on my weight loss. I've been trying very hard and because I have seen success I keep going at it. I'm trying to stay on track for our engagement photos this early October. I hope your re-start goes well. Remember carbs are BAD!
  4. Oh and thanks for that post about the blood draw. I'll show it to my FI and see how he feels about it.
  5. We are looking to do the Sapphire Package with the addition of the Catholic Ceremony. If we can't do that then we would look at doing the Immaculate Conception package. It's been over 2 weeks of asking for the wedding contract without a single response from either myself or from my TA. It's been tough to want to book with this group, but if the final outcome is as good as most people say it was for them, it just might be worth it. We were also looking at doing the Lasso ceremony, but being that neither of us are Mexican/Spanish we didn't know if they would do it for us. Let me know what you find out because we would love to add that to our current list of cultural ceremonies (we are having a tea ceremony for his Chinese background and a Polish blessing for my Polish background) so why not add another ceremony!
  6. I'm so excited about the kids staying free part! I have so many guests who did not know how they were going to afford them selves and their kids! What a nice option to get our guests to come down, now they won't have an excuse!
  7. Wow ladies congrats on getting that much done already! I'm very impressed and I can't wait until I'm completing my check lists!
  8. Thank you Krsmith for that information. We are ok with the blood tests. As doctors you get get use to that kind of thing. It's nice to know we can do a civil and religious ceremony all at once. Again ladies I appreciate all of your help with my questions. My FI will be so happy when I give him the news!
  9. So I'm going to assume I could not do a legal ceremony one day and the catholic ceremony the next day or a day later, or could we? Just throwing this question out there as that is what the FI would like to know. Thanks for the help/answers ladies!
  10. Well thanks for posting the video. I agree that I will just wait and what the free shows at the resort.
  11. Thank you for the clarification. If it weren't for you ladies I wouldn't know what to plan for. It's a shame Palace resorts can't get their act together and work with us.
  12. I'm so excited to see that I'm not the only Dukan bride! I've been on the diet for 6 weeks and lost 14 pounds (1 pound shy of my half way mark!) I'm amazed at how much I don't miss carbs, ok I miss chocolate but not bread or pasta kind of carbs.
  13. we are going to have our guests get up and do some kind of dance for a kiss. If someone starts clanking on the tableware we are going to have them answer a question, but i'm going to add that if they get it wrong they have to be the one to kiss someone! Love this thread, thanks for the ideas ladies!
  14. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
  15. I know it's been a while since someone has posted anything to this thread. Just looking to see what is still available. Thanks
  16. hello ladies, can I ask a silly question . . . Does MP offer a Catholic Ceremony that is legal? My FI and I were hoping to do everything in Cancun (sort of one stop shop). Did I miss something when I was reading the information on the website? Thanks
  17. Ladies here is a video of what the fire dancers look like. I got this video from another bride on the BDW site but after reading all the comments I thought you should see what you are about to buy. I too was interested in the fire dancers until I saw this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA_32Oi2QRw (I apologize but I can not remember who posted this)
  18. Thank you to everyone for posting pictures. It helps people like me who can't make it out there before hand get a better idea of what it's going to look like.
  19. Hello ladies, look like I'm a little behind for my August 2012 wedding! I was looking for the BLUE starfish for travel dates of August 1, 2012 through August 11, 2012 going to Cancun, Mexico. If there is another blue starfish floating around I would love to get on that list. I am a sucker for these kind of traditions and it would be such an honor to have this with me on our wedding day! Thanks!
  20. YES!!! I would Love something like this! Any word on how or when this is going to work?
  21. if they ever get back to us we would love to have you and your future Mr. stop by!
  22. Thank you Amara3CUS, I knew I saw it somewhere on here. And thank you leigh17 for the post!
  23. Hi Ladies, I have a really random question. if I'm not mistaken I've read somewhere on this thread that one of the ballrooms has windows. Did I read this correctly and if so which one has the windows? Thanks for all the posts I've been reading this non stop since Monday. My FI thinks I don't do anything else but read this thread. We jokingly call it "the wedding bible". I can't thank you all for your comments and posts. I've learned so much and I'm not getting married at Moon Palace until August 2012!
