Great site for wedding favors

Thanks for sharing! -
Evelyn, thank you so much for coming back to the forum after your wedding and giving us all such great advice. I know I asked you quite a few questions, and now seeing your answers to other people's questions are even more helpful! You've really taken alot of stress away for me...now my wedding just can't come fast enough!

How much is your wedding costing you?
kad1010 replied to BeautifulBridetoBe's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We went into it without a budget as well! We talked about it, but never made anything set in stone. We still have a long way til our wedding, so as of now I've only put a deposit down at the resort and sent out save the dates. But I think I should start figuring things out. I am hoping to stay between 10,000 - 13, 000. -
Any of the brides that have been down there recently, have you noticed the sewer or garbage smell around World Cafe of the hallways in one of the buildings that people on tripadvisor keep talking about? I don't remember every seeing anyone talk about a bad smell in their reviews. I am just hoping that none of our guests read the reviews on trip advisor. Most of them are great, but some people really trash the place in the review. I wish I could show everyone the reviews here!

I've seen the sand on almost every website that sells the sand ceremony kits. You can go to any arts & craft store to buy sand in different colors, or I am sure if you wanted to you can use sand from the beach. But most people I've seen use different colored sand. We are going to use our colors, fucshia and orange. I love the idea of the sand ceremony. I've seen quite a few sets that come with the cork to put in the top so that the sand doesn't come out. I also like the melting a candle idea so the wax can hold it in.

Evelyn, How long was your reception? I am getting married in November, so I am going to have to do things earlier because the sun sets earlier. My ceremony is booked for 3 PM so that we can get pictures in the daylight afterwards. I've read that the ceremony is about 30 minutes and Ana said the sun sets around 5:30 in November. I dont want my reception to be only from 5-8 PM, that's so early! So I am still on the fence with what I am going to do. I also have Anel booked and I am super excited to have her. I booked the all day w/ the TTD session but now I'm not so sure I will feel like doing that lol. I am so happy to hear they let you upgrade your cake! I don't think we will have over 25-30 people, but I still want a wedding cake, not just a 1 layer, so thanks for adding that! Also, How many people did you have at your wedding? Thanks again for all your advice it is SO helpful!!

Great! Thanks so much. That sounds a lot more simple than some of the other things I have read about ceremony songs! I am glad it worked out so well for you. Thanks for adding your songs. I still have so long until my wedding so I change my mind about the music every other day at this point lol. A few other questions I have (I'm sorry to bombard you with questions!) are: did you make a menu for each of your guests? And also, how do you go about making the seating arrangements? I guess once you know how many guests are attending you can go from there? I think that is it for now lol Thanks again!

Lindsay, my friend just had a civil ceremony in NJ. They had to fill out the paperwork at the courthouse 3 days in advance, and then they were married by the mayor in a short ceremony that lasted about 3 minutes. They exchanged vows, but decided to wait to exchange rings until their destination wedding.

I am so glad I found this thread! It will definitely help when it's time to make my welcome letter!

Thank you!! I would love if you could let me know the sit down dinner options! I am a noob too so I wouldn't even be able to open an attachment. We chose the ultimate package. I want to do a menu for my guests so I was hoping I could do a sit down dinner. I don't think we will have over 40 guests so it should would out! Thanks again!

Is a Welcome Dinner expected?
kad1010 replied to Danyelle's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I can't decide what I want to do, but I'd like to do something nice for the wedding party. I was thinking of maybe going outside of the resort for dinner & drinks the night before the wedding. -
I am having a symbolic ceremony also. It will be on a Saturday so we are going to leave on Thursday morning just to get familiar with the resort and have time to meet with our WC and hash things out. There isn't a set # of days you need to be there in advance for a symbolic ceremony like there is a legal ceremony.
