Was the pool opened during your reception? I have seen a few pictures where there are people in the pool watching the reception. Not that I would probably even notice on my wedding day! But I am getting married in November so I know that everything will start earlier because the sun sets earlier and we need time to get pictures.

Finally came across this thread after searching for a while. I will have to start posting more to reach 150. Luckily I have plenty of time!

I forgot to mention that my fiance and I are thinking of moving to an adults only resort the Monday after our wedding because of some reviews about too many kids on trip advisor. Your review now has me second guessing that decision haha But I would hate to get all the way down there and fall in love with DRC and then not be happy with the other resort. I think we decided to go with El Dorado Royale for honeymoon.

I am the worst planner in the world, and after reading all of these reviews I am so afraid that I won't have things together when it's my turn down there. Granted, I have plenty of time but I'm not even sure what I should email the WC's about. Do you think it's possible to message me your spread sheet and time line? And also, what kind of things did you email back and forth with the WC about? Did you have to pay extra for your rehearsal dinner? Did the DJ just play your cd's or did he play his own music as well? And for your ceremony...did you have different songs played when different people walked down the aisle? Sorry for all of the questions! After I read a great review I get excited for my own wedding, but I also get a little overwhelmed lol. Thank you!!

Missy thanks again so much. You've really helped me out! Did you honeymoon at the hotel as well? I've read a lot on trip advisor and a recent reviewer said she felt bad for honeymooners because there are so many children around, it's hard to relax. I chose this hotel because we do want kids at the wedding, but when everyone leaves I also want us to be able to relax and enjoy ourselves.

We really want to go the "less is more" route, like you said, I am mainly just thinking about the tables, chairs and centerpieces bc the colors really do make things more beautiful. I am glad to hear that you went through the hotel, it just seems much easier. How do you know how many tables you are going to have so that you can make your seating chart and place cards? I've also seen menu cards, but this may not be at Dreams. Did you talk to the WC prior to your wedding about the seating chart and menu? I hope you don't mind answering all my questions! Your pictures are great! You looked beautiful. Where did you get the flowers for your hair and your bridesmaids hair? Did you bring your own decorations for the tables with you? My colors are fuscia and orange and I am so worried about decorations. I don't know if I should buy them myself or just wait until I get down there and order them through the hotel.

Does anyone that has been to Dreams Riviera Cancun know if you can bring your own cup down to the bars? With all the talk on Trip Advisor about the dirty bar glasses and the dirty water they are washed in, I was thinking of maybe getting customized cups for our guests to bring down to the bar with them? Just an idea, but I guess those cups would need to be washed out each time too. I have a while to go, I would just feel awful if my guests were to get sick!

Your pictures are beautiful! Did you use Adventure just for the ceremony and then Claudia for the rest of the day/night? We are getting the Ultimate Package so I know we do get some photos included, but I really want to use Claudia as well. Also, I plan on using the same colors! Did you bring your decorations or did you get them from the hotel? They look great! I feel like I have 100 questions for you lol!

Does anyone that has used Claudia Rodriguez or plans on using her...are you doing a 5 hour session or 8 hour session? I really want to use her, but she is kind of pricey. I am torn between the two. I don't know if 5 hours will cover everything and I don't know if 8 hours will be too much!

I don't want to waste money either...so I think I am going to do the can koozies. Have you found a website you like? I've found a few koozie sites but the designs looked really bad.

I am undecided about this as well. I've read that beer is served in plastic cups, but I would think they would have bottles too? If we did get the mugs, would the hotel bars fill them up for the guests rather then everyone using plastic cups? I just don't want whatever I choose to be a waste.

She is available on my date but she wants me to check with Ana to see if DRC will let her in...I wonder why she would need to know that if she was just there for your wedding? Did you have a problem using her or did you just pay the outside vendor fee? Either way, I am waiting to hear back from Ana about this.
