  1. Melissa727- I'm sorry to hear of your mom 'situation'. That can be really frustrating. I don't know if this is much help, but we are getting married there Nov. 15 and I have asked similar questions. I heard that the spa does a great job for hair and makeup, just take a picture for an exampe of what you would like your hair to look like. I heard that even if you don't like it, they'll do it over, no problem! I emailed the spa to set my appointments and had no problems. I have a different WC, but I've heard they all do a great job. I also posed the question about the OOT bag items, and the responses I received were that it wasn't an issue, because they really only check bags when re-entering the US, but to maybe take receipts along to prove your purchases and maybe don't put all OOT stuff in same bag, then they won't think you're going to re-sell it there! As far as restaurants go, I heard some of them you need to get there early because the food is so good! Maybe your coordinator can pull some strings for you?! Last thought...just remember that this is your day and no one has the right to take that away from you! So, I would try my best to seperate myself from all negativity. Unfortunately, I know first hand what you are talking about and that's why my Mother-In-Law is not coming! Good Luck to you and best wishes
  2. Hi Vancouver Bride! I am getting married at Dreams PC on November 15, 2011 and have had nothing but great communication with my WC. From the pictures that I've seen and the reviews that I've read, I am very pleased with our decision to have our wedding there. Of course I'll post my own pictures afterwards, but enjoy your planning!
  3. Hi Ladies! I'm just wondering what the food was like at DPC for the kids? Do they have things like pudding, yogurt, peanut butter, etc? We have some younger kids traveling with us that can't quite eat solid foods yet, but the parents aren't wanting to take a suitcase of pureed baby food! Any help is greatly appreciated!
  4. Thanks Subbi! Did you find that most of the excursions were cheaper when booking at the hotel? I was going to book ahead through our travel agent, but I'll wait if it's cheaper!
  5. I think it's a good idea too! I decided to do a few things for a bag, but I too am going to include a certificate so they can use it at the spa or wherever they choose!
  6. I wish I would've known about Vistaprint before I bought my bags!
  7. I love the pashmina idea! Although it seems weird to include since we are going to a place that will be 80 degrees, but I'm sure will be perfect at night!
  8. Love the sticker on your survival kits! I've been looking for the 'stick people' since I can't open attachments on here yet, but haven't had any luck!
  9. Thanks for your help! We are staying at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort
  10. Hi Ladies! I'm wondering if there are goodies or local treats/snacks at the DR airport that I can add to our OOT bags? Thanks for your help!
  11. Great idea! Can I ask what website allows you to register for your honeymoon? Thanks so much for your input
  12. Hi Ladies! I'm just wondering if anyone had any issues getting their OOT bag items through customs? I've heard that carrying multiple items of the same thing can make them think that you are going to resell them in their country. Do I only need to worry about this if it's alot of the same thing or do I need to put items in multiple suitcases to break it up? Thanks for your ideas!
  13. Hello Ladies! Just wondering what excursions are available to the wedding party and what you did? Any suggestions? What did you like or not like and what was the cost for what you did? I'm trying to put a few things together for our guests to opt to do and I'm also trying to decide if we should host an excursion....Thanks for your help!
  14. Hi Ladies! I was wondering if any of you had your makeup done by the resort staff at Dreams Punta Cana? Did you use their makeup or have them use yours? Thanks for your input!
  15. Thanks jszy10 . We are not having an AHR as we would rather put our time, energy and money into the wedding and those that can attend! But, that's where the difficulty comes in because most people we invited aren't able to attend the wedding, and some people are going to want to give something most likely. So, because my fiance doesn't even want to tell people to give us cash if they insist on giving something, I'm not sure how to proceed....

  17. I have a fiance who doesn't want to register for gifts! He doesn't want people to think they have to get us something (which I feel, too). I think he really is just afraid of getting a bunch of things we don't want or need and will then have the hassle of returning it all. He would rather us just buy what we want. I've tried to explain that some people will still want to get us something and if we don't register for some things to give some ideas, people will just give us whatever and then we will have that issue anyways! Has anyone else experienced this or have any suggestions?! Thanks for your help
