  1. Yep, I'm finding that Zuniga has more than MP, but they are quite expensive... depends on what you want. If you're looking for more floral things, definintely contact Marvin! I'd ask him specifically how it works when he does centerpieces, etc. Whenever I've asked, I've gotten a vague "I've done tons of weddings there and they know me well..." -- not sure what that means. Ha!
  2. Marvin actually told me that he's done tons of weddings at MP and has set up centerpieces there... I just didn't know if anyone here has used him for that before...
  3. Great to know, thanks ladies. I'll probably go with Marvin for my BM bouquets too. Have any of you used him for centerpieces? How does that work? Does he work with Zuniga...?
  4. These are awesome! I'm totally impressed you did these yourself! Wow!
  5. Kendall, did you do your "in sickness and in health..." notes on pre-perforated business card paper or did you just create a template in word and print them on normal card stock and cut them? Also, do you mind sharing what font/clip art you used or the template itself? Thanks!
  6. Thanks Kendall! How are you getting everything there? Are you worried about customs causing a problem?
  7. I went to Puerto Vallarta right after I got engaged (like our engagement moon), and I took my ring off when I was in the ocean or something like that (just locked it in the room safe), but then I wore it around the resort no problem. When we were at the airport and commuting, I just spun it around so the diamond was on the inside... but that's just me being paranoid. I didn't think it was a huge problem at all...
  8. Honestly, I think Cancun is fine. And Mocha's right -- MP is like a compound, super secure. Most of the crimes that have been going on have been in the Baja California Peninsula (so clear on the other side of the country from Cancun)... and it occurs along the US/Mex border at most times... Just be smart when you travel, that's all. I wouldn't worry too much.
  9. Yeah, I'm trying not to overcomplicate my centerpieces either, but I don't feel that I'm asking for much. I did send her an e-mail with colors and types of tablecloths I wanted for both of our ballroom events... and she hasnt' gotten back to me yet to know if they even have them... So we'll see...
  10. I loved loved LOVED her dress! I thought it was incredibly elegant and classy, very appropo! I did expect to see her in something like Pippa, but I was happy to be surprised as well... And her reception gown was gorgeous! I love how elegant she is, and she's SO photogenic! Love it! I loved the hats! This one was my favorite, but only because I couldn't figure out how it stayed on...!!
  11. Omg, totally agree. I think I'm going to ask Katie to do mockups before I pay a dime... especially after hearing your story. Thanks so much for the heads up! Did you talk to Katie about this already? What did she say?
  12. Oh nice! Thanks. And you said it ended up being Moet pink. Is that all they had?
  13. Cute idea. Are you guys worried about choclate possibly melting before it gets to your guests...?
  14. Is this at the reception? I (or my guests) can use $165 of their resort credit for a bottle of Moet champagne? How does that work? I (or my guests) just put in an order beforehand and what our room number is to deduct the resort credit? I didn't know about this!
  15. Do you guys know if Zuniga has a wide selection of linens? Do they charge $30 for each across the board or does it vary by the type of linen and shape? Do they have different fabrices (i.e. crinkled taffeta, satin, poly etc)? Do they different shapes and sizes (i.e. round, square, rectangle, etc)?
  16. Terpgurl, thanks for the heads up! So once you described what you wanted to Katie, do they put a sample together and send you pictures? I am banking on using this tree for one of our events (I had read in anther post that they charge $40 for it). Is the tree you were hoping to use too? I actually don't want the candles, I want to replace them with something else we're bringing with us from India... so I didn't know if I explained to her what I want, if they can make a sample and send it to us.
  17. I, too, am interested in honeymooning in Belize after our DW in Cancun... any info as to how to get there would be great! Thanks!
  18. Is anyone out there considering a Belize honeymoon? My fiance and I are looking into it, but wanted to bounce ideas off of others... let me know! Thanks!
  19. Does anyone know what size tablecloths Zuniga uses? Terpgurl mentioned that the round tables at MP are 72"... So does Zuniga use tablecloths that hit the floor? Or do they only come halfway down? What about the standard white ones MP uses -- how long are those? Thanks!
  20. So, here's what I've gotten so far: Bamboo chairs, $8/ea Tiffany chairs (dark brown, white, gold, or silver), $7/ea Tiffany chair with sash, $10/ea White Avante chair, $6/ea Clear acrylic chair, $14/ea Table cloth, $30/ea Table runner, $15/ea Napkins, $3/ea Napkin rings, $2/ea Other sashes for chairs, $4/ea Seems a bit pricey to me, but I guess there's nothing I can do about the chair prices (other than negotiate). Others on this site have said they've been able to buy linens online for cheaper than this... so maybe I'll buy the linens and take them with me... we'll see. Hope this helps.
  21. Does anyone know if you can use resort dollars towards BM bouquets?
  22. Zuniga acts as MP's decor company. They pretty much do all the decor for events at MP -- they also do their own flowers too, so they'll bring flowers with them too. My understanding so far is that Zuniga can pretty much create whatever you want, but sometimes they can be a bit pricey (although I did hear that they are always willing to negotiate too). Hope this helps!
  23. Thanks everyone for the comments! Looks like I'm leaning towards an the complimentary all white lily & rose bridal bouquet, with white ribbon and no bow... still trying to figure out my BM bouquets...
  24. Does anyone know if you can mix & match the reception menus? We're 100% vegetarian, and will only serve vegetarian food at our wedding events... that being said, the only way to have enough vegetarian options is to pull from several different menus... does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks!
