  1. So pretty! What are those off-white flowers in there with the green orchids?
  2. So glad I found this thread; it's so helpful! I'm hoping people are still active... I'm getting married in Cancun this November... Anyone know anything about Jasmine?
  3. These are the 3 colors that are in all of our events, so we're doing our invites and all of our stationary with these three colors... thanks for sharing your page! It's awesome!
  4. Hi ladies, I too am using Wedding Window and I absolutely LOVE them. I cannot explain how happy I am with their services and functionalities! It's def not free, we paid for 2 years and for a custom domain name... I had different colors for our engagement party and then changed it up to our wedding color themes... super easy! And... we have a bunch of different events, and not everyone is invited to every event, so it has an amazing RSVP feature that you can set up so people can only see the events they are invited to when they enter their password to RSVP... super cool! Happy to help if anyone has any questions... you can check ours out at www.riceandrotli.com (about the domain name: I'm South Indian and we're stereotypically known to eat rice with all of our meals, and he's North Indian and they're known stereotypically to eat bread (or rotli) with all of their meals... so it was a play on our cultures)... hope you guys like it!
  5. Agreed! The night of our fuscia and turquoise decor... I'm wearing fuscia and orange! Ha! So I'm hoping to work in some birds of paradise into the decor... I love those flowers, they're so cool looking!
  6. Yep, so random! Yeah, Tortugas is in Nizuc. Our ceremony is also in Nizuc (at the Tucan garden and gazebo)... so we're just encouraging all the parents etc to get rooms in Nizuc so they're closer to the wedding events (and don't have to walk as far) and the families and kids to stay in Sunrise... We're putting requests to have all of our Nizuc guests stay in one building and all of our Sunrise guests stay in one building so they're not so far from each other...
  7. We're also thinking about doing this type of "lounge" set up during our reception... we're lounge people so we thought it could add a cool vibe to our reception...
  8. Does anyone know if cymbidium orchids are available in Cancun or if they're imported? They seem to be ridiculously expensive, and I'm trying to figure out why... Thanks!
  9. Here's what I am thinking for our peacock-themed reception. We're doing 3 different shapes of tables (circle, square, and rectangle) at our reception, so we want 3 distinct centerpieces... still working on it, but here are some thoughts so far. We'll do a similar concept with high flowers, low candles and high candles, low flowers... and we'll be adding a ton of peacock feathers into the mix too...
  10. Reception: peacock theme Looking forward to hearing from others!
  11. We have 3 major events for our traditional Indian wedding; here are our colors and some inspiration pics for each: Garba (traditional folk dance party the night before the wedding):
  12. This is the complimentary one from our resort that I'll probably use... I want all white lillies and roses, and have my BMs with white lillies OR roses & lime green orchid bouquets...
  13. Yep, that's what I've seen too. In our room contract, it also says you can use up to $150 OR up to $300 towards golf... I don't know what that means exactly. I'm asking my TA to get clarification on that.. because I assume it's something like if you have $750 or less room credit than you can spend up to $150 on golf and if you have $1500 or more you can use up to $300... I'll let you know when I hear.
  14. I'm SO jealous you are using Star ballroom. I wanted that ballroom SO badly... but apparently there's some basketball tournament going on the same weekend as our wedding, so they have all of the ballrooms in Sunrise being turned into bball courts. I'm not at all excited about having to use the Tortugas ballrooms... but I guess I just have to get over it...
  15. Yeah, much earlier in the thread, several brides said that she was great!! So that's def comforting. I'm having the same issue with slow emails, but since our wedding is still far away, I know she's not putting too much effort into ours... and I'm trying not to bother her. I'm doing what I can with Zuniga, picking my flowers with Marvin, and then the complimentary bouquet, cake, and menus... I already know what I want, so it's just a matter of telling her sometime in the next several months... Maybe once my TA meets with her on Tuesday, we'll have a better rapport and she'll reply quicker... doubtful, but I can still hope! Ha!
  16. Amara, if you want to PM me your e-mail, I can just send them over to you. And if you have sketches of what you want, I'd def scan and send those to Katie. The people at Zuniga will put it together (to scale) so you can see how much room you'll have, etc. Just curious, where are you doing your ceremony and reception?
  17. Actually Amara, my TA is going down to MP on Monday for a site visit, and she's meeting with Cristina on my behalf on Tuesday morning... so hopefully all goes well!
  18. Are you referring to: CRISTINA VANESSA VALDIVIEZO? She's my WC. I heard from her last week... sent her a reply/follow-up this week, but haven't heard back from her yet. Why? Did you hear something?
  19. Good to know she'll do this. I hope she'll do this before we sign the contract... I'll let you know if she does.
  20. Happy to. We have all 3 sections of the Tortugas Ballroom for 2 nights. We want the rooms to look totally different each night, so that's what we were going for in table layouts and colors. These aren't 100% final as we won't be able to finalize until we know exactly how many guests are coming. Right now, we're expecting anywhere from 175-225, so we built these layouts with room for 200+ for now. Basically, I just told Katie how many people I needed to be able to seat, how many buffet tables I wanted, how many desert tables, and how many bars I wanted. Then she came back to me with some mock ups -- we went back and forth for a while but eventually came to something I really like. I did a lot of copying their layouts into PPT and moving pieces around to show her what I wanted... Quote: Originally Posted by Amara3CUS Do you mind sharing your layouts?? 21. Yep, these are the ones that fold. They look like this:
  22. Thanks Amara. I actually looked into buying some or renting some here and taking them with me, but here's what I found. The round tables are about 72". So if you get the tablecloths that hit the floor, you need about 132" tablecloths, which run about $20/piece... then if you get different materials, the price goes up from there. I also inquired about renting from a few places and the cost was still between $20-$25 each. Plus we have 20+ tables, so taking that much weight with us just didn't seem worth it -- I'd rather pay $5-$10 more and save us the hassle...
  23. Great question Terpgurl. I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Thanks!
