  1. I've been wondering this myself. From what I've gathered from others here I think a lot of people do tip but the amount is totally up to you. If you think she did a good job and was very helpful then I think between $50 and $100 is reasonable. If she wasn't much help then I wouldn't feel obligated to leave anything.
  2. Here's the templates for the cards, keycard holders, and hangover kit labels. I used several coupon codes for medco. Some were "firstten" and "first10" and another one for just that weekend. I don't know if those will work anymore but you can check retailmenot.com and tjoos.com. They have different codes for discounts posted a lot.
  3. I'm in the same boat now and wondering what I should do. 8 ppl, my FI's cousins, are staying at a rental house nearby. I just found this out and apparently my FI never told them they would have to pay to get in for the wedding. I never thought of mentioning it on my website, I only mentioned the resort with the TA info for booking there and they never asked me otherwise. I feel bad making them pay, but us paying for all 8 is just too much. I think I'll have my FI tell them they need to buy the day pass themselves but have him mention that they can use if all day there. Maybe they won't be upset about paying it they can make a day of it. They can snorkel, hang out by the pool, eat and drink all they want, then get ready in someone's room before the wedding since it's not until 5.
  4. Very cute! Extra color is always a good thing on the beach!
  5. Your pics are great! Glad everything went well for you.
  6. I think you look great in it! It looks light enough to work for a destination wedding. I think the biggest hurdle for a destination wedding dress is getting it there and that seems like it would be easy to transport. If you love it, go for it! And that's a really good price.
  7. Hey everyone! I finished my OOT bags!!! Check out the post here if you want to see: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...5/#post1344251
  8. Yea!!! Finally done with OOT bags, minus a few details. Big thanks to everyone who posted their pics and templates. This forum has been such a great help to me, I hope this can help some of you get started on your own! The bags I got a target, $2.50 each. I'm tying a sand dollar to each which I plan on writing "Riviera Maya" on top of, and "2010" at the bottom. These everyone can use a Christmas ornaments later. My hangover kit I made with $.97 first aid kit from target. I put two packets each of Tylenol, Alka-seltzer, Emergen-C, and Pepto Bismol. Most of the meds I got from medco.com. I had a $10 off coupon code for each order and ended up getting a great deal on everything. The Tylenol for only $.99 for 50 packets! The playing cards I got from the Dollar Tree, 2 for $1. I printed stickers for every side and I think they look pretty cute. I made keycard/tip holder with wristband key chains from Oriental Trading Company and resealable avery badge holder from officeduck.com. Also included are aloe gel and after sun lotion (both from the Dollar Tree). I decided to use these instead of sunscreen because I figured everyone will already be bringing that. The bath puff is from the Dollar Tree as well. The SpongeBob waterproof disposable cameras are from ecamerafilms.com. With shipping they ended up being $3.76 each. And I thought SpongeBob was appropriate for a beach wedding. The chap stick is from medco.com too. I used the same coupon code for $10 off, so I ended up getting those for $.24 for a pack of two. I ordered thank you postcards from vista print that haven't arrived yet. Those were $6 for 50. I got a free email and just had to pay shipping.
  9. You looked beautiful! I love your pics and it looks like everyone had a great time. Thanks for the review.
  10. The maracas are $2.95 a pair or $1.95 a pair if you buy more than 12. There is a thread somewhere on BDW about this place. Everyone has said they were very happy with the customer service. Here's the link: Large Maracas Assorted Colors Cinco de Mayo Favors & Prizes | Amols' Fiesta Party Supplies
  11. I bought my BM dresses. I found a great deal on these maxi dresses at TJ Maxx that they all liked and were the right colors. Since it's a DW I wanted the dresses to be kinda casual and it was important to me to get something they could were again. So these dresses fit the bill. They were only $20 too, so I bought all of them.
  12. I just got my starfish and sand dollars in and they all look great! I really hope there's not a problem bring them to Mexico. There's another thread about that somewhere here. A few people said they had problems with it but for the most part I don't think anyone had any issues.
  13. Sonyaj, I think that would look really nice with chaivari chairs. Where are you planning on getting them?
  14. That's a tough one but I think food would work too. Get some cookies in cute little bags, put a sticker of your wedding logo (if you have one, if not just something cute) and viola! Instant favor everyone will enjoy. =)
  15. Do any of you have/had guests that were not staying at the resort? It looks like I'm going to have 8 that are renting a house nearby and I'm wondering how this is going to work for the wedding. From the website I figured it will cost $55 a person for a half day pass (lunch and dinner) and around $80 for a full day pass. So long as they have that I assume there will be no additional charge for them at the wedding. I'm really hoping there is something cheaper to get them in just for the wedding though. I'm not looking forward to paying an extra $440 just to get them in but feel bad asking them to pay extra also. Should I be paying for this or ask them to?
  16. Thanks for the tip info ladies! Gowiththeflow, can you let me know if you find any cute/cheap maracas around there when you go down? I found a site that has really good prices on them (like $2 a pair) here and they have my colors (pink and orange), but I'm accumulating a lot a stuff to bring down as it is. I'm hoping that's one thing I'll be able to get there.
  17. Looks like I'll be making a trip to Dollar Tree! Thanks for the idea. =)
  18. Has anyone tried freeze dried rose petals? They look great in the pictures but I haven't actually seen any in person. I'm wondering if they will still look good and how they feel.
  19. I really like the frame idea and the Umbra frame is really reasonably priced. But I'm wondering if I will be able to change the picture once the sand is in there. I would really like to replace it with a wedding pic later. Does anyone know if you can do this or should I just spend more on the frame from Etsy?
  20. I like food favors, they never get wasted! I'm having a BBQ (it's kinda expected in Texas) so I'm giving away little personalized bottles or BBQ sauce. If your doing tropical you can give away some tropical themed cookies (maybe flower shaped sugar cookies or something with macadamia nut it it) in cute packages. Since your going to Mexico some kind of hot sauce or spicy seasoning would be nice and you can always put your own sticker on it.
  21. I'd go with the first dress if your wedding is on the beach. It looks a lot lighter and easier to travel with, something to think about for a destination wedding. But they are both beautiful and I'm sure you will look great in either one!
  22. How much did everyone tip or plan to tip at the resort? I was reading on another forum here and a lot of people tipped their WC, the waiters, and anyone who helped at the resort. Should I plan on tipping the WC? If so how much? And what about waiters? Do you tip at every meal or just once before you leave? I'm wondering what I should expect and what I should tell my guests to expect.
  23. Those look great! Where did you find the design for your survival kit/first aid kit? I've been searching and can't find one.
