  1. I love #2!!! #1 is nice as well, but I like the halter on you better Good Luck
  2. Hi Dana....I am hoping to get married at PPR as well the week of April 11th!!! Hopefully we can help each other along the way! I am just waiting to find the cheapest package for my guests.
  3. I wouldn't suggest this idea either. I think that your guests want to enjoy your wedding and they may feel pressure and a lot of stress if you are counting on them to take these special shots. Also, everyone will come with a digital cameral anyways. What about emailing your guests and asking if one of them would be interested in being the designated photographer...you would be surprised, my Dad loves taking photos, so he would be inclined to say yes, where I would never want that responsibility. I bet one of your guests loves taking shots and would offer to do it for you. Just remember that they are not a professional, and you can't really have any expectations or hold a grudge if the pics don't turn out the way you had hoped. My sister brought her friend who is a photographer (it is his hobby) and she was devestated, she hated the pictures and felt she couldn't get upset with him because he was her friend. I hope it all works out for you!
  4. Hey Ladies, Is everyone ramping up for Stampede? So I made my first BDW purchase, and am waiting for a new pair of shoes and a nice flower for my hair...I hope the shoes fit, they are gorgeous and they will be my shoes for the wedding! I thought I had my resort all picked and ready to go, and then at the last minute, TA said the prices went up $100. I am super upset and now have to try and find this resort (paradisus palma real) at a cheaper prices from other agents...I am just freaking that I won't be able to get the price I need which is max 1750/person. I had a back up plan of another hotel, but my family doesn't want to stay at that one I am super stressed, and I think the lack of a job is not helping, as I have way to much time on my hands. Don't forget we are meeting july 29th this months, the last Thursday at Melrose...maybe we can get a count of who can attend so I can make some reso's!
  5. I am doing "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney!!! So excited about it!
  6. Guys, I went to Chinook the other day and in Jacob Connexion they have the perfect dress that is slightly similar feel to the Calvin one, except it is coral...a beautiful coral colour that would be stunning on the beach. It is the same material as the Calvin one and looks quite similar, however there is a belt on it in navy blue and white stripes, however it comes off. They are located on the right side of the store if you are facing the front just before the change rooms. The dress comes in white and black as well. I wish I could show you ladies a picture, but the website doesn't show it. I hope this might work for someone...it is $89 dollars.
  7. Thanks Pam! Okay Boo - I just found these on Esty and they are amazing...I am ordering them for my wedding. Not sure if they are too much for what you are looking for, but I had to share them because I just fell in love. I have never posted a link before so I hope this works. Personalized Mini Umbrellas 25 Dazzling Pink by AutumnJo on Etsy If this isn't the way to post the link I will repost once I figure it out!
  8. Boo...thanks so much for the tips...I am heading to Chinook today as well. I hope I can find some BM dresses. The coral candles are amazing, but like Pam, not sure what I can do with them. I still don't have my theme down yet, I feel like I am so far behind everyone Natalie
  9. I have been trying to figure out a song that will be meaningful to both myself and FI...we finally found it!!!! sooo excited to be walking down the isle to... Enya - Now We Are Free (the theme from the Gladiator)
  10. Denise - That amount makes me so happy, I was begining to think I would have to pay into the 20's to have a wedding at a Paradisus!
  11. Wow, beautiful...how did you bring down all the supplies for the centrepiece? I love the pics, and would love to know exactly what you did for the centrepiece to look so amazing!
  12. These posts are freaking me out...Ahhhh...I am dying to have my wedding at PPR, but not at the expense of my sanity.
  13. Hey Girls, So I didn't make it rafting, we only have one car right now so it wasn't really that easy. BUT...I did buy a mountain bike, and we went biking along the Bow...it was amazing! If any of you guys do want to go rafting let me know...it looks so fun to do it with a few couples. Linds - your dress is fabulous...I think it is beautiful!!!

As long as you know your wedding date you can wait to see if prices come down at all. Some people are having a small enough wedding that they can just tell all the people attending what the date is and to wait to book until prices come down. My resort that I am looking at right now can't provide group rates this early, so I have to wait until they can to actually book tickets, however I will still be reserving my wedding date so no one else can take it!

  16. Congrats Megan...I am getting married in DR as well. Great choice...I am still trying to figure out what hotel to get married at...there are so many choices. All the best! Natalie
  17. Hey Nikki, Most couples getting married in PC are doing a symbolic wedding and you can hire Pastor York who does a full wedding for you, so know one knows the difference! I think he even has you sign papers. I think this may be the way to go as their is a lot less paper work and hassels. I belive he costs 300 to perform the wedding for you. Natalie
  18. Congrats..I love it there as well, and have been a few times. It is unreal! All the best! Natalie
  19. Thanks so much msglave, I am going to look over all that info as well. I am in my final stages of picking a hotel and it looks like I am going to do the Paradisus Palma Real, but I can still be swayed

You're a calgarian now girl! HAHA, you are right, I do need to update that! I will get right on it There were a bunch of rafts on the river last week, so I think as long as it is hot enough out we are good to go, however I do need to look more into it, as I really have no idea what I am doing and I can picture me and FI going overboard! I think the last Thursday of each month sounds like a great plan. That means that the next meeting for July will be...July 29th, 6PM at Melrose!!! I hope we can get a good turnout this time
  21. Hey Ladies, I am so sad you all were unable to come last night, but that is okay...because we decided we would like to try and get together on a monthly basis! There ended up being three of us - Sandy, Erin and myself...it was very fun especially because we are all getting married in Punta Cana, so we were able to chat about our different venues and give each other ideas about prices, colours and I even learned all about Pastor York!!! Erin is about to start making her save the dates, so I am pumped to see how they turn out next time we meet. I hope you all have an amazing weekend and lets hope for nice weather! I am dying to go rafting down the Bow River, so I am hoping it is in the cards for this weekend.
  22. Sandy, thanks so much for making the reso's!! I am super pumped and can't wait to meet you all. See you Thursday
  23. I would book, but prob somoene that knows this place should do it. Sandy, would you make the reso's for us. Maybe we can book on Monday so it gives ppl time to say if they are coming, then we will have the number right for the reso. Count me in!

I think I will be good to find it...I have my trusty GPS! Is this place casual, like jeans? I am good for anytime, is 6:00 a good time? Or at least some of us can meet at 6 and everyone else can come when they are free! Aly, that sucks about your hotel, but you are right, it is more about the people you are with! I can't wait to meet everyone, I am dying for some girl time!!!
