I actually would suggest you got with what the hotel has. We used the large sparklers and they were great. The reason is, they burn longer, which allows more time for photos, etc. They were very sturdy and extremely safe.

I had flase eyelashes for my wedding day, I brought them from home and had the staff put them on.

Yes, we travel to Cabo often and always drink the water at the resort. I orginally asked if we could provide our own water bottles and were told no, but tap water was okay. We had a pretty high bar tab so I don't know if that made a difference or not.

Another option is to serve tap water- we did this and had no mention or complaints from guests. It's also FREE!

Hi! Yes, I hired an outside coordinator. The reason I did this was because Cabo Azul was having high turnover in their wedding department. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't have hired her. Georgina, Maria and Rosalinda are wonderful and handled everything perfectly. I was able to contact my own vendors through my outside coordinator. I believe I got a pretty good price on flowers, but as far as everything else, it was similar to what the resort charges. Minister: Carlos Navas (Terrible, do not use him) DJ Ricardo Patino Emporio Floral Solo Guitar- Alonso Aguirre- he was fantastic Hair and Makeup- Suzanne Morel I'm not one to tell you how to cut cost since I went WAY over my budget (we had 75 guests) but here are some things I found: Cabo Azul is so beautiful that you need limited decor- linens, fancy flowers. My flowers were gorgeous and very inexpensive- I only brought votives down with me. I have an allergy so we didn't have a cake- that saved money and no one even noticed or cared. Depends on your group but we went over our bar- thankfully everyone slowed down but it goes quickly! Be cautious of what drinks you serve at the cocktail hour- they push them hard at guests and many (expensive) drinks are left untouched. Please feel free to email me if you have any other questions!

I went with Suzanne and had a great experience. The trial was wonderful and really put me at ease. Her staff is amazing, I can't say enough great things about them! Absolutely worth the money!

We are hosting a welcome party in place of rehersal dinner at Don Sanchez Restaurant and Cantina (in San Jose del Cabo) for 75 guests, heavy appetizers and open bar for 3 hours. It's going to run about $2100 including tax and gratuity. I have a wheat allergy and the owner Tadd even offered several gluten free options! We are so excited!

LisaandJeff, Georgina has been very responsive to me as well. We got rid of the signature cocktail idea becuase the cost was going to be on TOP of the bar budget. They also needed to know the specific number of cocktails... I would rather save that extra money to put towards to overall bar. What did she say about the dancefloor? I wouldn't think it would be that soon. Our wedding is July 23 and the deadline is June 9.

July 23, 2011- Cabo Azul Resort!

Hi Ladies! Hope all the planning is going well. I'm getting married at CAR July 23, 2011. I hired Tammy Wolff to help me along with the ladies at CAR. We did a site visit in May and everything was great! My parents have been back a couple times since and Bertha has been so gracious to meet with them everytime just to say hello! Flowers/Centerpieces: We are using Leoan from Emporio Arte Floral. They've been great with getting back to Tammy with quotes and are working with me on creating exactly what I want. Cost is very reasonable. Cake: skipping cake as of now- I'm allergic to wheat so why waste the cash-we'd rather spend it on the bar. . We're having the pear tart as dessert (we heard it's great). I know Cabo Azul has a spa/hair/make-up person- had a friend of friend who got married at CAR give them a less than great review based on her hair/makeup trial (she ended up doing her own). Dos Sanchez Cantina is where we are doing ours. I visiting in May had amazing food, service, drinks so I asked about a event. I met with the owner and he even made a special menu for us (I have an allergy). PM me for more information if you woud like it.

Hi Everyone! Â I am getting married at Cabo Azul next July. We went for a site visit in May and had the most wonderful time. They have a completely new event staff and they have been excellent so far. Fast to respond to emails and phone calls and even met with my parents when they were in town.
