Hi SBTB, We got married at the ME back in February. Sometimes it is difficult to get the wedding coordinators to respond as quickly as we would like them to. After all, they are on "island time." :-) I know it's difficult, but try to be patient. Give it a couple of days and then maybe send a follow up email? We had our ceremony on the beach at 5:00, then our dinner at the Sea and See and then a reception at the Parrots Bar. It was perfect for us! Hi Elif, We just went really simple and they placed the gift bags on the table for the guests at the dinner (at the Sea and See). They also put the flower centerpiece from the wedding on the table. Hi MsFactorA, Congrats on your upcoming wedding! You will love the Majestic Elegance! Yes, we had a set menu at the Sea and See Restaurant. That is something that your wedding coordinator can send you. For our dinner, we had the entire room to the right when you walk in the restaurant. Plenty of room! As for the Parrot Bar, we had maybe 4 tables (and chairs) set up and then a table for the cake. The Dj was set up over by the bar. No food since it was a short reception and we had just had dinner. For us, it was the perfect scenario. It gave us time to do the first dances, cutting the cake, etc. If you want, I will post my pictures below. We brought one of the keys home by accident. Looks like the key is of normal size (about 3 1/2 x 2).

If you use the photographer at the resort, you can ask your wedding coordinator to assist you. But if you use someone else (like we did), you have to do it yourself. Just remember, the Majestic Resorts charge you $300 to use an outside photographer.

No, ME uses another photographer but I can't remember who they are. If you use photosouvenir, you have to pay an additional $300 to use an outside photographer. But to us, Renaud was worth every penny!

Glad you loved the pictures! Having a great photographer didn't hurt! I had no idea the yellow would look as great as it did! Can't wait to see pictures of your wedding!

Thanks alykay! I loved the yellow flowers as well. They looked great against the bridesmaid's dresses. But I am sure that they ivory/turquoise flowers will look great!

At least you ordered them way in advance. My now husband tends to procrastinate and it was cutting it pretty close. His linen pants never did show up! Imagine us trying to find linen pants in Chicago in February! Yikes, it was difficult! And thanks, I loved my dress too! I loved trashing the dress too, but now I have no idea what to do with it! I don't think I will ever get all the sand out of it. Plus, my husband accidently stepped on my dress while we were in the Disco after the wedding and ripped the heck out of it! Oh well, made it easier to trash the next day!

Islandbride, you will love Pastor York! He was amazing! Everyone at the wedding (and even the onlookers) kept commenting how great he was. We also had the symbolic wedding down in Punta Cana. I have 2 stepsons and we wanted to include them in the wedding somehow. So, we went to city hall with them before we left and had a nice little ceremony.

Islandbride, I don't want to stress you out even more, but I had the same problem with booking the ME. We would have had a lot more guests attend our wedding had it not booked up. And the ones who could find rooms with travel agents found that the prices were really high. For some reason, ME is always booked. But on a good side note, while you are at the resort, it never feels crowded. Hang in there and good luck! Mandy

The only restaurants that requires the dress code are the Italian and French restaurants. The rest of the the restaurants are pretty casual.

I saw one party on the beach with the buffet but I don't think it was a wedding. Maybe just a group of people getting together for dinner?? Our reception at the Parrot Bay was from 8:30-9:30 and I never saw any guests walking through. I really would suggest having the reception, rather it be all with the dinner or without. And to be honest, the dinner at the steakhouse or seafood restaurant is nice and they put you in a private room. So why pay the extra money for the dinner with reception? Just my 2 cents! :-) I know it's overwhelming but take time to enjoy the ride! Mandy

I wouldn't think it would be a big a big deal, but I don't know how they set up the wedding parties at the steakhouse. I am assuming that it would probably be in one of the rooms off to the sides???

Hi Haychxx, We just got back from our wedding at the Majestic Elegance and we used Renaud of Photosouvenir and he was wonderful! I will post a link to our pictures at the bottom of this email for you to look out. Renaud actually told us what was going on with the Melia Caribe. He said that the resort forces him to add a $1,000 fee to his prices. He said that the resort forbids him to tell the bride why the prices are so high as well. So, I think he has just decided to not take pictures there. If you aren't sold on the resort, maybe look at another one??? I have nothing but great things to say about Renaud. Hi FutureMrsDawson, First of all, congrats! You will love Majestic Elegance! We got to the resort about 5 days before our wedding so I had time to see about 8 weddings on the beach! If you have a wedding at 1:30 in the afternoon, you will have a lot of onlookers. Not that this is a bad thing because they do a decent job of keeping people out of the way. There is a sound system but I never saw anyone doing a first dance on the beach. I mean, I am sure you could do it, I just didn't see it done. Another option, we had our dinner (after the wedding) at the Sea and See restaurant. Now there wasn't a sound system there but maybe you could get one? They put us in a private room off to the side so you wouldn't feel like you were dancing in front of everyone! :-) Let me know if you have any other questions. Mandy
