  1. We actually decided to have the reception once we got down to the ME. To us, it was worth it. Also, we got more like 2 hours for the reception because they tend to not run you off. We had also planned to just hang out in one of the bars, but we were able to have first dances, cut the cake etc. at the reception. Also, FYI, the disco doesn't open until 11 pm.
  2. MRR, I hope to get around to writing a review sometime soon! :-)
  3. Hey all. We just got back from our wedding at Majestic Elegance. We had a fabulous time! I was a little confused when I first got there because I got a call from Lisa, my wedding coordinator. Now, I had only talked to Sandra in the past so this all came as a shock to me. But I just went with it and Lisa was wonderful to work with! We did the ceremony on the beach at 5:00 with Pastor York. Then we had a private dinner at the Sea and See. We also decided to book the Parrot's Bar for an hour for $500. This included an open bar. For music at the ceremony and reception, we just set up a playlist on our ipod and they set it up to their sound system. Oh and I had my hair done at the spa. She did a wonderful job! Also, if you happen to still be looking for a photographer, I have to recommend Renaud with Photosouvenir. He was absolutely amazing. Good luck with your planning. Punta Cana is such a magical place!
  4. We just got back from our wedding at the Majestic Elegance! It was wonderful! We had our ceremony on the beach, dinner at the Sea and See and our reception at the Parrot's Bar. We stayed in the Elegance Club (adult only section) in one of the swim up suites. Lisa was our wedding coordinator and she was such a sweetheart! As with most all inclusive, the food was good but not great. Some people had some minor stomach problems but nothing to ruin our vacations. I have a pretty weak stomach but no big problems. Also, I just have to give a plug to Renaud of Photosouvenir. He is an amazing photographer! Also, I have not been to Dreams but I heard that there are lots of kids there. Not too many at Majestic Elegance. Just my 2 cents!
  5. Hey girls! We just got back from Punta Cana last night. We had our wedding on the beach at Majestic Elegance, the dinner at the Sea and See and the reception at the Parrot's Bar. It was wonderful! If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask away! :-)
  6. What is your email address Natalie? I can send you the email that Sandra (WC) sent me. M
  7. Our WC did send the menu. Thanks! We also decided to go with Seafood. Good luck in all of your planning!
  8. Hi all! We are getting married on Feb. 24, 2011 at Majestic Elegance. We don't want a private reception so we are trying to decide whether to have our reception at the Seafood restaurant or the steak restaurant. Any suggestions? Thanks so much! Â Mandy
  9. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Sorry that I am just now responding but we just got back from vacation in Cancun. I am trying to keep it simple, so I love the little tag idea. It will have to be something somewhat small because I need to wrap the magnets in tissue paper and then put them in a shipper with bubble wrap. And of course, we are trying to keep the cost down. ~M
  10. Hello, I just received my save the date tiles from a lady on etsy and I LOVE them! The only problem is that I need to include more information somehow... I was thinking maybe having a postcard printed with our travel agent's information, location of wedding, etc. I am not artsy at all, so I would really appreciate any ideas. Â Thanks, Mandy Â
  11. I plan on getting married at the Grand Palladium at the end of Feb. 2011. I can't get Carolina to commit to the date that I want. The last time she emailed me, she said she would check back with the judge and get back to me in a couple of weeks. This was June 1st! I have sent her two more emails but I still haven't heard from her. I am pretty laid back and not a huge planner, but I really want to have our date set in stone. I am contemplating whether to even get married at the Grand Palladium. Any thoughts or comments?
  12. First of all, I apologize if this topic has already been discussed. I searched throughout the forums and the only information I could find about this topic was several years old. Our wedding is booked for Feb. 18, 2011 at Dreams PV. We are debating whether to use an outside photographer or to just use the one that the resort uses. With the new fees in effect ($500 fee plus $500 deposit), I am just not sure if it is worth the extra money since we are trying to stay on a budget. I would love to hear from any of you brides who have used the Dreams PV photographers or if anyone has any tips or advice, I would love to hear from you! Thanks so much!
  13. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I have been a tad bit obsessed about reading these forums! :-) But this wedding planning is addicting! I still feel like I have so much to do. We have at least booked Dreams PV and we have ordered our Save the Date cards! I am just trying not to stress out too much!
  14. Hi everyone! I have been lurking on the forums for about a week now. And I finally decided to join in on the fun! We just started planning our wedding but we know that we will be getting married at Dreams Puerto Vallarta on February 18, 2011. Any advice, suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated! Mandy
