  1. I would look in the thread on the city/country your wedding is being held. I'm sure there are a number of reviews on there. Congrats and happy planning
  2. Congratulations! This forum is so great for ideas on everything. I have found more ideas and advice than I ever could have imagined!

  6. Congratulations! This forum is so great for ideas on everything. I have found more ideas and advice than I ever could have imagined! For that price what are you looking to include? air and flight? how long do you want them to stay? I am getting married in Puerto Vallarta at the Dreams PV (a 4 star all inclusive hotel) and I have rooms reserved for as little as $385 per person for 4 days based on double occupancy. This obviously does not include airfare. I know prices are very variable based on time of year and other details. Hope that helps.
  7. Congratulations! What a great engagement story. This forum is so great for ideas on everything. I have found more ideas and advice than I ever could have imagined!

    hi all'

    Welcome and congratulations!
  11. Hi Angi, Welcome to the site. I think either location could be great. We had friends that did Vegas a few years ago with great reviews. We almost did Italy, but decided to do the beach. When I was picking a place I narrowed it down by things like being a short flight for people who may not be able to get a long time off work and cost for guests. I also wanted an all inclusive resort to make things easier once we got there. I don't think you can go wrong with either location. No matter what you will have a great time and lots of great stories.
  12. Jennifer, I will get in touch with them and let you know. Rebeca just let me know that they finally charged my deposit. So, now I am totally official.
  13. I wonder if any of this would have ever come out in the media if the Tiger Woods thing hadn't generated so much buzz right before hand. I can totally imagine those women thinking they won the lottery after the women that cheated with Tiger got so much attention.
  14. Maybe they figured that the rain in So. Cal is better than the rain they are used to in Seattle. Up here we learn to deal with a little drizzle.
  15. That is so exciting for her! I haven't watched in forever because we gave up cable while my FI finished school (too much opportunity for distraction). Luckily he will graduate soon and I will get all of my trashy TV back!
  16. So sad. Can you imagine how funny it would have been at their house.
  17. Thanks so much for all of your ideas. I love your monogram and have used it as an inspiration for mine.
  18. Wow. Everything looks amazing. I am glad to know you loved Mishka so much. I am debating hiring a coordinator, but I am not sure it is in the budget.
  19. I love the colors. They are so in this season. You were ahead of the trend. Nice work.
  20. Good to know. I am getting married on the 21st and am hoping for the best. Regardless rain in PV is better than rain in Seattle.
  21. The other thing is that based on us holding 20 rooms in our group block the TA is able to use one of her vendors to get discounted group airfare. (I am not sure how good the discount is, but every little bit counts.)
  22. As far as rates are concerned mine are similar. I worked with a TA and stated in my contract with the resort is that for every night there are at least 15 rooms booked at double occupancy (30 guests) we get 1 free night. The catch is that the rooms need to be booked through the TA to count toward this. If guest book through expedia it does not count. I have to pay for the trip in full before we go, so I am not sure how I get that money back. I will let you know once I figure it out.
  23. One other benefit of using a TA is depending on the number of rooms you think your guests may fill it could mean extra incentives for you. For example the Dreams offers 1 free room per night that there are 15 rooms booked in your room block. Based on this I am hoping that my FI and will get a few days for free. I could do a lot of other things with that $$. The only catch is that the rooms have to be booked by the TA to qualify for the block.
