  1. Dont worry I leave on Friday and we only got our rings last week, FIs tie and suit in the sale, still no shirt for him - the rest of the girls on here are super organised - but u will be fine :-)
  2. Generally speaking I am a laid back person, maybe a little too much but I just seem to be running out of time for wedding things and we leave a week tomorrow. Saturday we are busy all day, Sunday we will have to go round delivering the tickets as our flight time on the way back has changed so they have today reissued the tickets, Monday night I am actually free, Tuesday night getting my hair done and FIs brother in laws bday meal, I then finish work on Wednesday at 1pm and then go and get my eyebrows done, Thursday morning manicure and pedicure - 2pm Thursday we get the train to the hotel as our flight is at 8.15 so thought we would stay overnight to make it easier. When am I ever going to get my huge pile of washing done and pack and most importantly stop FI from wearing all his clothes that he wants to take with us but doesnt understand I am running out of time to wash and iron them!!!!! AAAAArrrrghhhhhhh - rant over - I am offically turning into Bridezilla 7 days before we leave :-)))) Also I dont know if this is a woman thing but whenever we go away I have to clean our flat from top to bottom and leave it spotless - why oh why do I do this the only one who will see it is the cat and our neighbour coming in to feed her - FI just laughs! He is currently in bed snoring his head off - life is so easy for men! lol
  3. FI has gone with a linen suit from Debenhams which cost £90 - he will probably never wear it again but then when will I ever wear my dress again so I dont feel it is money wasted really and we were working with a budget. He will wear a white shirt and turquoise tie.
  4. Sorry ladies I dont know what happened to my post yesterday but I wrote something along the lines............... Pilar contacted me today to choose my flowers there are about 12 different options - they are all lovely I choose these ones as our wedding colours are gold and turquoise. I wanted something 'tropical'I
  5. I know I have missed you Jo but I know you will have a fab time and will be an amazing bride! Cant believe I leave next Friday!!!! Herbie76 - love your tiara. I tried mine back on the other day - I think after the wedding I may wear it to do the housework - lol! Well all of a sudden there doesnt seem to be enough hours in the day what with being back at work.....we have to deliver the tickets to everyone as we did a group booking and I am not waiting for everyone at the airport to give them their tickets - could you imagine if one of the group was running late which is likely to happen with my family - tho it is usually me! Booked in hair for next Tuesday (my roots are pretty bad as trying to leave them to the last minute), manicure and pedicure for next Thursday, hotel booked for the Thursday evening, still so much to do but then I havent been that organised its my own fault. It all suddenly hit me how real it is today as the WC asked me to choose my flowers and book in any spa treatments.........I suddenly felt really nervous and like the other Jo said - that is sooooooooooo not like me! Its really all happening for us - woo hoo. The flowers I choose; in our package you get a centerpiece, buttonhole and brides bouquet; are below as I really wanted something 'tropical/summery' .....

My sister is doing my hair, but I am not sure what the options for make-up are. 2. who are you getting do perform the ceremony? We are doing the renewal of vows, and want to write our own vows, but I don't have anyone to actually perform the ceremony. Do you think someone from the resort would do it? I am not sure what the options are. 3. specifically about possible flowers for the guests tables at the reception... some of you have mentioned buying the $50 flowers for the pilars and then transfering them to the reception. Will they take apart these large bouquets of flowers for you and put them into smaller bunches for the tables? Kristen Quote:Originally Posted by Kplanta Hello and welcome! I dont really have any information on the new wedding coordinator, but I am sure she will be great also. I think this resort would completely meet your needs. Our group will be between 56-60 people and we have some children and babies coming as well, so I think you'll be okay! If you read through this thread you will find out everything there is to know about the Catalonia Riviera Maya. On another note...to the brides who are marrying soon, and ones who already have-what have you done, or are you doing for reception decorations in the Pure Chill Out Bar? I need some inspiration and or pictures to guide me! I am also not exactly sure what the resort provides besides palm leaves and white linens...for example, do they offer candles or vases if we buy flowers? Kristen
  7. I think this hotel is perfect for all ages as you can relax or be involved in all the activites - you can do whatever you want. It really does have something for everyone which is why we chose to go back and get married here - as its excellent value as well. The new wc; pilar; is really good she has been contacting me recently as I leave in 9 days - woo hoo :-)
  8. Oh poor you Michelle -- at least you have lots of positive things to look forward to this year :-) Happy New Year to you all! FI nearly had a heartache this pm as I did the OOT Bags - started at 1 and finished them at 9.30 - everything was thrown in a box after I started off so positively at the beginning of the year buying bits and then I stopped until today when I raided the 99p shop and hobbycraft. My back aches, and I feel shattered there was paper pritt stick and ink everywhere - lol! I have posted pictures of them in the OOT Bag section if you fancy a look - am quite pleased with my efforts even if I do say so myself...
  9. Hi Before I joined this forum I had never heard of an OOT Bag; its just not a term we use here in the UK. Then I looked at everyones photos and ideas and said to myself; ' I wanna do that...' Well after starting my OOT Bags very enthusiastically in March / April time; I then did nothing with them until today. If I ever see a piece of turquoise or gold paper or ink ever again it will be too soon. I mean what else is there to do on New Years Day!!!! Everything was on a budget and purchased from the 99p store or Free from Vistaprint, I did one bag per couple and one each for the single people, I only had to do 9 in total. I opted for the paper bags due to the budget and I knew if I got nice bags they would just be disregarded. Please enjoy and thank you for all your inspiration fellow brides 2 be :-)) Each bag will contain: A magnet saying ; I travelled all the way to Mexico for Jo & Busters wedding & all I got was this lousy magnet! (Vistaprint) Packet Of Mints (99p Shop) Packet Of Chewing Gum (99p Shop) Handwash (99p Shop) Nail File (99p Shop) Hairbands (99p Shop) 1st Aid Kit (99p Shop) Sewing Kit (99p Shop) Puzzle Book Bookmarks (DIY) Hangover Kit (99p Shop & DIY) Upset Tummy Kit (99p Shop & DIY) Pen (Vistaprint) Photoshare Card (Vistaprint) Playing Cards (99p Shop) Door Hanger (Vistaprint) Door Key Card Holder (99p Shop & DIY) Tissues (99p Shop) Bag & Tag (99p Shop & DIY) Timeline Cards Pool Toy - Splat Ball (99p Shop) Money Convertor Room Number Card
  10. Hey lovely ladies - hope you all had a lovely chrimbo :-) I am now in full planning mode - I have been trawling the shops for things I should have got weeks maybe months ago - its all go go go for me now as I havent done much planning previously - I had loads of ideas but did nothing with them - I have been in and out of Hobbycraft - so much I may as well move in!!! FI got a bargain on his tie in next for £2 in the sale and his flip flops were £7 - I however found nothing!!! Tomorrow is OOT bag day!! FIs sister got engaged on Christmas Day and came round to ours today they are planning for August 2012 - she had a book with ideas from the internet and a list of people and places to visit - seriously she put me to shame - I have 16 days to go and still dont have one of those freaking books!! :-) If I get time I will do a planning thread as I now have a new funky camera which I am still trying to figure out how to use - as we leave in 16 days!!! aarrrggghhh so much to do so little time..... xx
  11. Lovely planning thread - I am hoping to do mine in the next few days and hope it all looks half as good as yours x
  12. I am having my AHR exactly a week after we return - FI, me and BMs are all wearing our wedding outfits as for me the AHR was to celebrate with those who couldnt attend. We are having an evening reception style party x
  13. I too am not very excited - I just feel like I'm looking forward to a break from work to go on holiday- like any other holiday - maybe it will hit me nearer the time!! I think its cause its Chrimbo and I need to do the shopping etc - maybe after New Year I will feel like its my wedding - I hope so anyway as it will only be 3 weeks Friday and less for you :-)))) x
  14. 'Janapana' has already done hers - I on the otherhand dont have enough to put on a planning thread yet - lol!! I finish work today and then am not back until 4th Jan so need to use these 10 days productively and go wedding shopping and tie up loose ends then I will see if I have time to do one :-)))
  15. Nicy - love your rings and i think its nice that you got something different and not a matching pair. So I have finally got my finger out my butt and spend the last couple of nights scouring the net for wedding rings and even walked to town in all the snow on Sunday to try some on. I know I maybe should have done this months ago seeing that I leave 3 weeks Friday. Well today I have bought a ring and am now waiting for it to be delivered should be here in 2 working days but I wont hold my breath on that what with all the snow we have been having again today - but as long as its here within the next 10 days I will be a happy bunny. FI didnt like the plain bands as he said it didnt match my engagement ring - have no idea when he became Gok Wan!! So found a white gold ring - 3mm- with 5 diamonds across the top - cant wait for it now - hope I like it otherwise I will have to return in and then bust a gut trying to find a ring with only a week to spare. Cant believe how quick it coming round and I still have a number of things to do - plus my Christmas shopping - aaarrrggghhhh - I knew I should have been like Nicy and Michelle and planned things throughout the year xxx
  16. Yay - love your thread! Cant believe we are so close now - everything looks beautiful - cant wait to see your pictures :-) xx
  17. I know I keep saying to myself - what will be will be - but will I be that calm if it snows on the day I leave from Gatwick!! I saw a picture on the front of the London evening paper today of a couple with a piece of cardboard sitting on the floor at Heathrow airport saying ' when we will get married - bets being taken now - today, tomorrow, in a week, sometime next year...' they are due to get married in the Maldives. Fingers crossed though by having this weather now it should not be so bad in January! Its still snowing here now they reckon another 15cm over night. Its not doing my dieting any favours either as I just want to sit in the warm and eat :-) xx
  18. Yeah I got that email as well - she can still reached on the same email address - luckily all my plans are in place as we leave on 14th Jan - just home Elena passes all the information on! x
  19. You need to find out how much it would cost to have your existing dress altered and then compare it to the cost of the 'new' dress you have seen - then make your decision - unless your heart is telling you to do for the new option x
  20. I had one of those wedding dreams friday night - lol. Me and FI went to Stansted instead of Gatwick; everyone else went to the right airport and got the flight and we missed it as we had to go back home on the way from Stansted to Gatwick to get out wedding outfits as we had forgotten them - its seemed really real. I did eat half a cheese board before bed tho - lol!!! Dont know about you Jo but seems to be coming round really quick and we still have loads to buy with very limited funds - starting to think maybe January was not the best choice of months when I am trying to order things on line and obtain some summery clothes....... just under 5 weeks until we go - woo hoo :-)
  21. Tell me about it - try getting a pair of flip flops in the UK when its minus 5 degrees - lol!
  22. Lovely planning thread - I hope mine turns out half as good as this one x
  23. You looked beautiful and so happy on your wedding day - glad it was all that you wished for x
  24. Everything looks lovely - I have the same colour scheme - so has given me plenty of inspiration x :-)
