  1. I went to the docs after months of buying every cream going - its really good - its called Duac - it has some really good reviews - hope u get it sorted as I know how depressing and upseting it can become x
  2. Oh poor you Jo - I know how you feel about your skin - I never had any acne as a teenager then about a year ago I started getting spots down both sides of my chin and and they looked like big sores. I got some cream from the docs and it sorted right out BUT my skin is naturally greasy and whenever I used sun cream on my face it just brings out an erruption of spots esp on my nose - sooooooo worried I will be covered in zits for my wedding day. I too still have so much to do with v little money!!! I have 2 days booked off work at the end of the month so hope to get everything sorted on these days otherwise I am going to scream!
  3. Unfortunately the tax is for everyone and it must be paid in CASH! No credit or debit cards accepted. So have it available before you depart as I made the mistake last time of trying to get some cash out at the aiport and failed miserably so had to put all out money together and had nothing left - lol!
  4. Great planning thread it all looks lovely - i remember seeing your dress on another thread and loved it then x
  5. Lovely planning thread - everything looks great x
  6. Hi Lovely Ladies - as you have all been saying I cannot believe how quickly January is coming round! I seem to have 101 things to do. I had loads of ideas in my head about a year ago and kept writing them down and havent really done anything with them. Tomorrow is the first day in a long time that I have nothing to do and no guests coming round to the flat - so me and FI are gonna make a final list of what we need and how much money we need to buy the items!! Really want to crack on so that I can approach Christmas knowing everything has been done. Murmel - we share the same date :-)
  7. Whoop whoop - i went to Wembley for the circus tour did you? I really only like the rock concerts as Wembley - but TT are my secret passion as am a rock chick at heart. We r such lucky girlies x
  8. Thanks for your comments about the bag - i was really chuffed with it as it was £7 from ebay from Hong Kong :-)) Despite being brasic - there are some things in life you have to do - today I booked our Honeymoon!!!! We were going to do a city break so I took it upon myself to book 3 nights stay in Dublin combing the Take That concert - whoop whoop - so freaking excited. I've never missed one of theirs or Robbies concerts and other half loves Robbie. I'm not gonna tell him until the wedding day it can be his present - woo hoo. Christmas is definately cancelled now. x
  9. Yes im based in the UK - we booked with Thomson as we have travelled to this hotel before about 4 years ago and booked with Thomson then. The way in which it works is you book a holiday and then just add the cost of the wedding on top. I know Thomas Cook also go to this hotel. They are both about the same price. Its all pretty easy really. Good luck x
  10. Oh got my clutch bag today - its ivory and pleated with diamontes on the top. The photo doesnt really do it justice. It will go with my dress really well as that it pleated as well - FI saw it and said ' so you are definately wearing white then' - as he had this thing that he wanted me to wear white but as im not so conventional I think he was threating I would be wearing black or something :-)) .JPG" src="http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/image/id/192001/width/1000/height/500" />
  11. Hi Ladies. Thats a great saving Herbie76 - I did watch some of the Wedding House and happened to see Lisa and Mario on it - she looked hideous!! Our wedding package includes my bouquet and a buttonhole for the groom - which is another thing off the list. Got the prices for a private reception today and it works out about £40 pp so we are going to go with this they dress up the beach bar and you have a BBQ on the beach as well - its from 6pm to 11pm and they create a dance floor for you and a docking station for the ipod so we are quite pleased - we can have our own private family disco - lol! Then hit the town afters! Nicy - so exciting for you I bet you cant wait - I'm not trying my dress on again until 4th Dec which is FIs stag do - so me and one of my BM are going to go and try our dresses on at my mums again - hers better fit I'm telling you as she needed to lose nearly 2 stone to get into the dress - if she doesnt squeeze into it I will blow my top - lol!!!
  12. Jo - I am thinking getting married in January was not such a good idea what with Chrimbo, Hen Party, Christmas dos and New Year!!! What am I supposed to eat and drink!!! Michelle - well done on your weight loss you are doing so well. Herbie - did you not know what the package with your TA included as when we bkd with Thomson we knew exactly what was and wasnt included? If you are not happy with the package the TA offers could you not just cancel it losing the deposit and book it direct with the hotel?
  13. Ditto - you can buy extra flowers for the columns by the ceremony tent for $50 and they will then use them for centrepieces. Also the flowers they put on the table with the registar they transfer to the 'top table' for afters. I think the prices at the hotel are so good compared to other hotels. I didnt have any other hotels in mind though as I went to the hotel 3 years ago and always said if I got married I would come back to this hotel to do it. Glad I made the right choice.
  14. Yeah I'm really looking forward to Priscilla - was up in town today on a course and walked past it! So camp for a hen night which is what we love - and Alf from Home and Away is in it!!! LOL :-) I have got the majority of my items for my OOT bags in the 99p shop - I'm hoping no-one will know as it is 2 towns away - lol. I hear u on the diet front - I am already planning that after our AHR in Feb a week after we return I am going to spend the following weekend on the sofa with one of my BMs watching girly films and eating copious amount of galaxy chocolate and lashings of wine. I think I'm almost more excited about that than my wedding day :-)))) I am gonna weigh on Saturday just to make sure I'm on the right track!
  15. Just hijacking your thread slightly - I am getting Married in Mexico but if you go thru any of the main high street TA you just book a holiday as you normally would and then they add the wedding on as an addition. We bkd with Thomson and the deposit was only £50 for the wedding. It works about £400 more booking thru Thomson than it did bking direct. The only thing I would say is if you book direct with a TA you are covered for any eventualities and they would reschedule it if you had any problems such as the volcano erupting again!! You wouldnt be if you bkd the wedding direct with the hotel. Maybe search tripadvisor as well as they have honest pictures of the hotels and venues as well. They will also tell you what is best value. Good luck and happy planning :-)))
  16. Honestly...... its what I am doing :-) They will have a corsage each and will also be carrying a fan. I think if they are done properly they look really lovely x
  17. Fab - thanks for this. I have emailed her to get official confirmation and confirm our private reception booking as theres only a couple of dollars increase from this year which is great news!
  18. We are going to London as its only about 35 mins away by train; seeing Priscilla Queen Of The Desert in the afternoon, then onto a swanky restaurant for a meal, theres 14 of us. Then 10 of us r off to a club to dance the night away. Followed by a massive hangover brekkie in the morning!
  19. If thats what you want to do - you should do it. Remember you are not being 'traditional' by having a DW but I think it depends how you would feel obvioulsy you are comfortable with it as the idea has already crossed your mind. For me this is the only traditional thing we are really doing and I for once in my life want my FI to be wowed by how well I scrub up. lol.
  20. Definately time has flown! This time last year we had just got engaged and were waiting for the brochure prices to come out on 1st Nov - then on FIs birthday 10th Nov we booked the holiday and wedding. Suddenly we are 11 weeks away. What with me being made redundant and starting a new job and other things that have happened this year we both cant wait to see the back of 2010 and start 2011 with our wedding. I only realised its 11 weeks as FIs sis but on her FB 'in 11 weeks I will be sitting round the pool in Mexico' - that was the night I got on the internet and started shopping! Woo Hoo getting quite excited now. Think the reality will hit me when I have my hen do next month! x
  21. Ditto - I think as the STD has gone out send them each an individual invite - its likely one of them will not attend ie; the one you are not as close to. They can then make their own decision to come or not and you dont look like the bad person x
  22. Suddenly I have loads to do and we are only 11 weeks away from leaving to Mexico - but after an evening of blitzing last week I achieved loads. One thing I have learnt is that I see something I like and then shop around looking for something better or something else and always come back to my first choice! I think you girls are a lot more organised than me - I seem to work well under pressure.....well thats what I'm trying to convince myself anyway.
  23. We too didnt have a wedding gift list; there are only 17 of us travelling to Mexico but we are having an AHR so people started asking what we would like. So in our AHR invite we wrote...... 'originally we did not have a gift list as we are getting married in Mexico; however a number of people have still kindly asked if they can buy us a wedding gift. If you would like to contribute towards a wedding gift...........' And then we had a short poem about how we would prefer money as we are saving to move then year. Hope this helps x
  24. Well done girls on yr weight loss - I say whilst eating some toffees and wondering why I dont lose weight! I have been doing a lot of excersie. I lost 2.5 lb last week but dont think after my weekends antics I will have done anything this week! For the past 2 days I have come home from work to find 'wedding presents' ie; the stuff I have been buying online; today was an engraved cufflink box for FOG, turquoise chair sashes; and the ribbon for the wedding cake which is lovely we have had it personalised - just to add a little 'us' to the wedding cake as it is huge and v white!!
