  1. Love the dress but I'm another one who thinks 'the strap' looks a bit odd - it doesnt seem big enough for it to be a unique feature - i think maybe strapless and you will look gorgeous.

David's Bridal - Short chiffon gown featuring empire bodice with shirring details and beaded straps I think the dress is really lovely - its not really that short its just that everyone 'expects' a bride to wear a long flowing dress - if you feel comfortable in your dress you go for it - its your day after all and you want to feel special especially if you feel comfortable in what you are wearing you will feel more confident. I say go for it!!

We are having Pink, although my sis is not a big pink fan. So i am letting her have a big say in the shade of dress. She is also on weight watchers so waiting a bit till she trys some dresses on. Oriental Pearl at Bluewater have some pretty dresses around £138 so that's a bonus too..... I know the Hop Farm. It is lovely there, we went to a christening there last yr. Beautiful for a wedding. We might have a pop down there ourselves. Was the room hire expensive? My FI also said last night about Hever Castle. So if Brands Hatch fall through we have some back up's! High rocks is in Tunbridge isn't it? That's supposed to be a nice wedding spot too ) I know bargain and on Saturday when I got there it was 25% off as well!!! Love Oriental Pearl I've been there quite a few times as work in Longfield so can pop to Bluewater in my lunch. We are having our party a week after we get back on 5th feb so still out of wedding season think the room hire was £400 and then £13 per head for buffet so v good and their customer service is excellent. We popped into the High Rocks which is nice BUT they wanted the full £1000 deposit now and it was non refundable - that deposit was for the room and food. I refused to do that so they lost our booking! They also have 3 - 4 rooms so you may not be the only wedding party there which we didnt want as for most of the people coming it will be like the real wedding so we wanted to make it just as special. I thought getting married abroad was the cheaper option but its all starting to add up - lol! Whoops beta get back to work ........
  4. Turquoise ruffle baby doll dress - Evening & party dresses - Dresses - Women - Toe Post Floral Thong Flip-Flops-Marks & Spencer Bridesmaid dresses and shoes........ hope this works.
  5. michelle2011 - your not v far away at all. My christmas work dos are always at Brands Hatch Thistle so know it v well. Really nice place. We have opted for the Hop Farm at Paddock Wood. They have the most beautiful function room - its 3 oast houses knocked together and it was cheaper than everywhere in Tunbridge Wells. Not everyone is loaded in TW!!! Fingers crossed - good luck.

Im still trying to decide between Turquoise/Aqua or light yellow for the bridesmaid dresses and colours. I saw some pictures of a wedding done with Aqua and Tangerine and it looks really nice and tropical so maybe I will go with that Still undecided I have gone with the Turquoise/Aqua colour - I was so lucky went to a department store in the UK on Saturday and this seems to be the 'in' colour for the season so got my 2 bridesmaids dresses then as I knew they would soon change all the colours etc. And knew all the nice summer clothes would disappear so quickly; also got one bridesmaid who is currently 5 months pregnant and another one who is doing weight watchers and losing loads of weight so they are proving difficult in the nicest possible way!!! We have all had a good laugh about it though. I'll post some piccies when I've worked out how!!!!
  7. Nicyx - the wedding date is proving to be the only stressful part so far - we were told we would have the date in 8 weeks after booking which we did in Nov and have been chasing ever since. Booked with Thomson as we travelled to this hotel with them before but we only had the choice of them or Thomas Cook so best of a bad bunch but got told on Monday we wont know until Aug which isnt a problem - IF they give us a date then. But I am gonna try and contact the hotel direct and make my own Miss Marple investigations!! Michelle2011 - Were u the person who mentioned Bickley Manor I went to a wedding reception there a couple of years ago it was gorgeous but just gonna be closed for a refurb - maybe they r trying to recoup their costs!!! R u a fellow Kent person? Its great knowing there are some other UK brides as well going away A great forum which i seem to be addicted to!!!!
  8. Hey, im quite new to this forum and just starting to find my feet and came across this thread..... I too am a 2011 bride. 17 of us travelling from the UK in January 2011 to Catalonia Riviera Maya. Everything is booked apart from the wedding date being confirmed which may not be available until August 2010. But I'm trying to remain calm; as we have been to this hotel before so know what to expect and have told everyone how great it is. Hopefully the TA will keep chasing for the wedding date.

If you wait and book the CAT you won't be disappointed! We had 40 guests in February and most of them are going back to the CAT in the future. We even were told by my aunt who goes to Mexico every 2 years and goes to a different resort every time that she will book the CAT again in two years! She is a hard woman to convince and she loved the CAT. Good luck with the rest of your planning. ~ Erica Me and my H2B went to the hotel about 4 years ago so we know how lovely it is - we have a few fussy ones in the party travelling with us as the holiday is already booked just waiting for the wedding date - so I'm glad its just as lovely as we remember.
  10. Hi L&C I have already done my STD cards and just put the 2 week holiday period that we have booked on there with 'wedding date TBC' as we are travelling from England so people wanted to know the dates so they can start saving......with regards to moving the booking date forward our travel agents have said the hotel wont budge on this as this is their hotel policy; which obviously works so for this reason I'm not going to get stressed about at as I have every faith it will all come good in the end (fingers crossed). Just a bit worried we will end up with the holiday and no wedding as the worst scenario. Must keep thinking positive thoughts ........... and wait until 1st Aug when I will be straight on the phone
  11. We have booked our wedding in conjunction with one of the leading tour operators in the UK for Jan'11. They have been chasing the date of the wedding for us to no avail. We have been chasing as we have some family / friends that want to make their own travel arrangements around our wedding date; but today we have found out that we cannot get our wedding date until August as this is when they are taking wedding bookings for 2011. Looking through other older posts I see getting a date has been difficult at times but wondered if any others waiting for their 2011 wedding date have been told the same?
  12. Thanks for your quick response Morgan. Hmmmmm clicked on the link and not that impressed. I have time yet to look around but obviously want to choose the best I can afford. I dont know if anyone knows the answer if the hotel charges for an outside photographer to enter their grounds or only restrict you to photographers they have a prior arrangement with?
  13. Having only just booked our holiday / wedding from the UK this is my first post so apologies if this is not in the right place! I have read through numerous postings on this hotel but wanted to know if anyone had actually used the hotels recommended/own photographer or if there are any links to them of weddings at the actual hotel. Any help or advice anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
