Hello, We are getting married on Isla Mujeres June2011 and can't decide where to honeymoon. Since we are going to be on the island for 1 week we figured we wanted to honeymoon out of the riviera maya. Most honeymoon locations I have looked into involve a 14 hour or longer flight and they all involve flying back to the states before heading to the location. Does anyone know of semi-close nonstop flights leaving out of cancun to a honeymoon location? Any suggestions are helpful Thanks girls!!!!

I'm sooo sorry your family and guests are giving you a hard time. I just recently booked my wedding for June 2011 and everyone seemed to be on-board and now I know exactly how you feel. Just about every weekend I hear comments from family about what they recently just heard or watched on the news. At first it was really bothersome, I literally had to pull out a map of the entire country and highlight the areas of violence and then show them how far the Cancun/Maya was from that area. I remember every story they heard was way exaggerated, they were extremely misinformed and pressuring me into thinking I made a poor decision for my wedding location. Now when I see my phone ringing from family or see an e-mail i think to myself "Oh what violent disaster has happened in Mexico now?" bracing myself for everyone's crazy comments. Now when I hear comments, I just laugh. I can't let it get to me, and neither should you. I know that they want you to fold and move your wedding but you should remember why you chose a DW and remember it's your wedding, not theirs. I truly believe no matter how much slack they give you, in the end your family will come around and be there for you!!!!!!

Hey, I was recently there in May of this year and they had a wedding going on the beach and their reception at the cafe del mar. They did an amazing job keeping it pretty secluded from other hotel guests and all the guests at the hotel were very respectful to keep their distance. It was a very beautiful spot to have the reception right next to the beach!There was a small dance floor about 14x14 feet that we saw some guests dancing on, It wasn't the biggest but they had a nice spot for the d.j. too. I was concerned about this area too at first when I was considering the Privilege but they did an amazing job. Hello Everyone, Â I am getting married on Isla Mujeres June 25th 2011. I am getting married at the Zama Beach Club but I am planning for all my guests to stay at the Privilege. I have been having trouble getting a hold of someone for reservations? Did anyone else have this problem? And when you did get a hold of someone, what kind of group discounts did you get? We are really trying to find a great deal because my parents are paying for all the guest's rooms. Any recommendations would be helpful, Thanks Ladies!!!!!
