  1. I'm enjoying a day off - and the sun is shining which means I'll get to lay outside later!
  2. Yeah it used to be that way here too -- but our city hall doesn't perform them anymore. My mom was looking into it for us at my hometown and the people there charge 300!!!! So, I think it depends on the location and demand for them! I dont' think 150 is bad though -- it still works out cheaper than doing it there, and for us it was convenient! Anyways, to the girls married -- are you settling in to married life? Tracy -- did you have an AHR? I remember you were talking about one!
  3. Exactly! To each their own I guess -- sometimes I think it would have been nice to do it all down there, but now I get two "wedding days" and that means....anniversaries!! Lol...jk! I emailed Carolina but she must be on medical leave now...how long did you guys stay at the restaurant for? I'm wondering if they will kick us out after a certain amount of time. Which one did you end up at Tracy, your pics cutting the cake look it's in a nice building! I also wondered about a possible "signature drink" and if they would go for that, I'd pick an easy one that the bar already makes and I'm hoping they will just set up a stand with kinda a "serve your own" station! I've seen pics and it looks like a great idea! Plus, I could name it somethign cute!
  4. For me it's cheaper, and we aren't telling anyone (I dont feel I'm cheating them out of a Wedding because I don't consider signing papers a wedding anyways). So...it's a lot cheaper in Ontario (121 for the license and 150 for a guy to perform the "ceremony"). Plus, I didn't want to wait for the papers -- not that I would have minded, but I'd rather just be done with it and not worry about anything once we get back!
  5. Yes you can do that - we are getting married legally on June 3 and having a "renewal of the vows" ceremony on June 28. As mentioned above, all you need to bring is a copy of your marriage certificate.
  6. like sex on the beach (the drink lol)
  7. dislike popcorn with cheese flavor
  8. I am interested in doing this for our reception -- did you have to pay extra at the resort for this? I'm hoping to narrow down an easy recipe and contact our WC to see if we can make it work. But I was just curious as to if you paid extra for it or not! Thanks!
  9. Roxqt -- does your seller on etsy have more? That is the price I want to spend, but I haven't found anythign anywhere! with just under a month to go (until we leave) I'm getting nervous and would love to find one!!
  10. Hmm yeah that's closer to what I was looking for -- I was hoping for everything, except underneath (sorry for TMI), but basically the whole front and everything you can see face on! I am not sure what that would be -- but I guess I will have to call around and describe it lol
  11. Angela - FI was hesitant to use the strips before the wedding, and wanted to consult with his dentist first. He asked about getting 1) the bleach the dentist does on your teeth, 2) whitening from one the professional teeth whitening places or 3) using crest white stripes. The dentist actually recommended the Crest white strips because he says if you teeth start to become sensitive you can stop them right away, whereas the bleach and professional places do it so intensely, and once it's done the sensitivity is already there! I was so relieved that the dentist actually recommended us to try that first! We haven't yet, but plan to within the next few weeks! Hope that helps!
  12. Yum! I am so looking forward to the cake! Yeah, no we didn't actually pick -- we just had fun thinking about the options. Well, it made me hungry but it was still fun. btw...Tracy, awhile ago you commented on my honeymoon dress, lol..sorry I tend to call white dresses that I'll wear during our honeymoon, my "honeymoon dress". I've been on the search for white dresses for 2 months, so I finally found a nice one! Gotta get on the lingerie situation! Other than that, I'm all ready! We're doing our legal stuff here on June 3, so that' coming up soon - haven't decided if we will exchange rings or not, we may just sign and leave the Punta Cana wedding to be as real as possible!
  13. I'm looking for a simple, finger length veil if any one has one that they are interested in selling!! I would need it shipped to Canada!! Thanks! I only have about 3 weeks to find something!
  14. Darn! I wanted the veil also -- it's exactly what I'm looking for!
  15. Love the pics of the bouquets! I think I'll stick to the white, or maybe blue ribbon! Also -- we had fun looking at the menu last night, so thanks Dawn! So many choices to choose from. I love caprese salad...mmm!! reminds me of Italy! Can it be June yet? lol.....I see Sap is the closest bride after me! So I bet you are excited.
  16. creamscicle - summer afternoons
  17. I am still undecided -- I go back and forth about wearing a veil. I never really wanted to, but now that I am getting closer, I do feel that it will complete the "bride"look. That being said, I can't bring myself to spend a lot of money on somethign I'm not 100% about!! bahh.
