I brought home my dress and hid it in the wedding room....thats what I call one of the guest rooms that I am using..."wedding room". I told FI from today forward he is not allowed in that room. I know he won't go looking though cause he just isn't the type, he wants to be surprised the day of. I got a chance to put it all together today at the bridal salon, shoes, dress, jewelry, even my clutch. Now I feel like Mimi73 cause every chance I get I go and peek at my dress, but I haven't been putting it on. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I am so in love with it, I can't wait to wear it. In less than one month we leave!!!! Ok back to me printing out my programs...Ciao! That is so exciting! I had a fabulous day today too, had my haircut - I have long hair and never quite like it right after a haircut, I think they do it too bluntly, so with 30 days till we leave and 35 days till the big day that should just be enough time! Then I had lunch with one of FH's best friends and he helped me shop for FH's wedding day present, I am so excited to give it to him! Its a super cool watch - FH is quite understated and goes for classic things, this was a super splurge, doubled my budget within 5 min. sorta thing but its going to be all worth it just to see picture of the guys giving it to him 30 min. before!! One of the other big items I accomplished today was get a boustiea (not sure on spelling) here is my personal experience - dress has a zipper, so had to be dead on - no undergarments, and about an inch would have to be taken at each side, maybe even more than that, and it looked very disproportional - cups - for me did nothing, I HIGHLY recommend going to a lingerie store and getting better cups, as I later found at my bridal salon versus a lingerie store I went to, huge difference. The once I had at the bridal store were basically pancakes, filled me out but no lift - first alteration lady was horrible, her solution, 2 pancakes in each side, looked horrible! First time I really panicked, asked for water and to get our of the dress - for me its a V back so a strapless although looked great at the front really showed in the back Today, with 30 days till we leave and still no official 1st fitting, we have a solution! Well keeping fingers crossed most likely: I got a boustiea, the lingerie store will remove the boning and will cut half of the length off less likely, but something for you girls as a just in case: sacrifice the strapless bra. Basically wear the bra like you would in the dress, and then it gets sawn into the inseam and the back part gets cut. Whew, ok, here are my two cents. Sorry for rambling, I am just super excited!!! I cant wait for our big day!!
  2. hmm Ashly thats actually a great question - I thought about it in terms of candles but never paper on the table. We are doing paper drink umbrellas stuck in sand, so not much help - good luck!
  3. wow you are packing already! I went for my psudo first dress fitting, the dress is so low on the back that any strapless bra shows! man its stressing me out. Latest thought is just to cut the bra and saw in the front part right into the dress, I am really not sure as how that would work, but going without just looks horrible!! why dont they tell you to think of these things while you are shopping? sorry to vent, just I love the dress, wasnt really into shopping actually, but loved this one, its simple and just what I was looking for. But the tops is just so urg!! sorry its like 30 days till we leave and I havent even started alterations - not much is needed though thank god. Ok thanks for the vent ladies, its lunch then gym time.

  14. We are using Mishka for our maracas, she is super talented and has been a pleasure to deal with. Her grand-mother passed away so communication these days is a bit slower, but understandably so!! I cant wait to see the finished product.
  15. Yeah cant wait, but from 3:30 to 4:30 on November 19, 2010 its mine! ha ha!!!
  16. I meant to say "like that flower here in Calgary" Jee hate not having the edit button. Sorry.
  17. Ladies your help please... Ok so the ladies weekend in Banff is next weekend and I was paroozing this site and came across this planning thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/60692/swankster77-s-planning-thread-lots-of-pics at their stag all the girls have a big fun flower in their hair, I kinda like that, as I told the girls definitly no funny outfit for me... so here is the ask - where would I find something like flower here that in Calgary?
  18. pm'd you to enquire about the earings and the tank. But jee I wish I was size 9.5 or even close, I have looked at those shoes before, gorgeous!!
  19. Oh I know eh?! I think its 36 or 37 for us till we leave! I cant believe it, its been a year since we got engaged, talk about wow!
  20. Sorry ladies way off topic but: 1. Mom bought my wedding jewellery, totally spoiled me!! It came in and the earings and the bracelet are just beautiful! they are my something blue 2. My girls organized a weekend in Banff, and they have so much planned! Just super excited! Its some 35 or so days till we leave and I am just excited!
  21. wow, very beautiful pictures! totally worth putting up with a little bit of dirt!
  22. Wow that yoga deal is just crazy, we dont really live south, but wow
  23. Congrads on your wedding! They say that rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck! Question about the hacienda - 1. I heard that its a private residence that was never completed and that they may resume construction - no sign of this yet? 2. I also heard that although it photographers very beautifully that its quite dirty inside - is that true? Would love to see your pictures when you get them.
  24. Very pretty stuff Lily, I especially like the flower! Lily was there space for paper lanterns on the deck? I am still worried about it being too dark, we leave in some 35 days or so, so it already might be too late but I tried getting an aswer from DRC for the last 2 months, I know they would charge to set it up, so they will take my money but I dunno whether there really is a space and how that would all work. Your input is greatly appreciated!
  25. Phew indeed, we only had 2 guests booked on Mexicana, but still what a pain in the bum! Wow its 39 days till we leave!! Kinda scary, I think we are track (one of these we are out of time and money so I stopped starting any new projects) but now I have this feeling that is starting to loom over that I am forgetting something. ha ha. Jee this Monday morning is not helping things either. Dearest is actually at home having taken the day off to get his wedding items crossed off - feeling very lucky - sorry to gush but I really do think its amazing how the right one just makes it so much easier. My grand-father is having a medical procedure done today, its somewhat serious, but I have every faith in the world that everything will be just fine! But it is so heart warming to see my grandparents who on November 17th are celebrating their 57 year anniversary - some people do truly love/ support and are their for each other all their lives!
