  1. Ok, just started snowing here. Finally. Made my supermarket run this morning.
  2. It's definitely up to you. We decided to go with one, but went back and forth on it for some time beforehand. It's your day and you should do as you please!
  3. This is all VERY helpful. I chose the 11am time slot because I like how the water looks at that time (photos are always in the back of my mind!) However, if I wait til 6 or so for the reception, I feel like that is SO far from the end of the ceremony that it loses its splendor.
  4. So I was thinking, I have chosen an 11am ceremony time. However, what time do receptions normally start? Is it immediately after? I was hoping to have something later on so the guests wouldn't be in direct sunlight. Can any veterans or anyone else clue me in? Thanks!

  6. I'm interested in hearing your advice about honeymooning in Kauai. We're looking into it!
  7. We just entered - better late than never! Thanks again for such a great contest! Best of luck to all who have entered!
  8. Mine acted like he had no interest at first. He never wanted to see photos I liked or whatnot. But lately, he's been like, so, what does it look like? I feel like he doesn't trust my judgment! I always tell him that the dress rocks and he must wait to see it. Either way, once it's in and altered, it'll stay at my parents's house. They're taking it to Jamaica with them!
  9. As long as they are a guest staying 3 nights or more, there should be no problem. I mean, people take photos at weddings anyway and some people have more expensive equipment than others. Plenty of people are hobbyists in photography.
  10. I'm glad you all are so happy with your bouquets. I definitely want to get in contact with her sooner rather than later!
  11. I agree with the ladies. It's never too early. We're looking at save the dates now and ours is the month before yours!
  12. Well, I'm not going to purchase any themes, and, instead, do some DIY centerpieces or table runners just so I can have the reception I originally wanted.
  13. Ooh, that's nice. Thanks Julie for letting me know that!
  14. NYCBridetoBe - I like your style. I emailed about the photography issue and have in writing that a guest of 3 nights or more is allowed to do photography. Have any of you negotiated the cocktail receptions or sit-down dinners? Since they offer a half-hour reception if you book 10+ rooms, you could ask to have that cost (it says $15/pp) subtracted from the per person price of the reception or sit-down dinner, right?
  15. The ever-growing invitation list is my current stressor. It does stop growing, right?
  16. If all this starts adding up, I will go without tables completely and instead, have a cocktail reception rather than a sit-down dinner. $75/per person isn't cheap, you think all this would be included. My frustrations are mounting.

I'm excited and scared and can't wait.

  19. They are so confusing. I mean, if you're paying for a reception, why should you pay for tables and all that? Just saying. A touch frustrating, no?
