  1. Good to know about the dolphin experience. We are taking our 9 year old....so it is really a day for her to spend doing the dolphin thing and having fun at Wet N Wild. I have honestly had to take the relax method...I am having a very unplanned, but fairly minor, surgery this coming Tuesday....so I have had to stop stressing about a lot of things. So I just hope that all will work out as others such as you have said. I think I've decided that if it is too stressful than I don't WANNA! LOL I need a vacation...not a headache! It's ALMOST Friday!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!
  2. Your pictures are fantastic! LOVE THE DRESS....LOVE THE PINK FLOWERS.....LOVE....WELL, just about EVERYTHING! You looked fantastic and as if you had a wonderful time. Congratulations! Thank you for sharing!!!
  3. Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to post your review. I too was assigned Lily and she has been absolutely incredible. They really seem to go out of there way to make you feel special. Just a question....did you ever see the rooftop terrace bar? We are planning on doing a welcome cocktail there the night before the wedding. Just curious if you happened to see it. I would love to see your photos....it sounds like they turned out wonderful! Price sounded good too. This will be our third marriage....each of us! Some say Third Times The Charm! So I understand the small wedding concept. Basically we have about 15 people coming...all of which are my family. I never had a REAL wedding for my previous marriages...so my Dad is saying "It's about time I get to walk you down an aisle!" LOL Well, Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy you had a wonderful experience full of wonderful memories! Take care.
  4. Congratulations! I'm so happy you had a wonderful time and everything turned out great. Wow....and a review by Friday You ARE ambitious!
  5. Kissing balls are typically for flower girls....but I think they are beautiful and can be carried by all ladies. Fakes ones are fairly inexpensive too! Save-On-Crafts.com has some great ideas as well.
  6. The only thing I can answer is about the 2 reservations. IF you signed a group contract and have enough rooms booked you should qualify for the free events. There has been some back adn forth as to WHO qualifies for free events.....and it seems to come down to either having a group contract signed with MP or with a TA who will honor the free incentives. So IF you qualify for free events you should have no problem with getting welcome dinner, reception, cocktail hour and anything else you want. HOWEVER, if you do not qualify and went with the Free package....then all you get is the ONE reservation for up to 35 people in one of the restaurants. I hope this helps. Let us know what you find out!
  7. This is not an exact comparison....but Todd and I booked our rountrip tikets to Cancun from Denver back in October 2009. At that time we paid $584 TOTAL.....that included both of our roundtrip tickets together. THEN, we decided that my 9 year old daughter should go. At first she was going to stay at home, but long story short - she is going and it is all good. First we booked her flight coming back from Canun because we knew she would be coming home with us. However, we didn't book her flight TO cancun since we planned for her to come down with my sister in law. After weeks of waiting we found out that they will be flying down on the same day as us! And they STILL haven't booked yet. Sheesh! So we booked her flight down to Cancun just a few weeks ago. Basically.....her ticket al together cost us something like $725. Our tickets together were $528! What is WRONG with that picture! LOL Ultimately we wished we would have booked her ticket at the same time as us....but it just goes to show you how much the airfares have gone up in the past months.

I cannot speak from my own experience.....but friends of ours got legally married at Moon Palace 2-3 years ago. They had their blood drawn at the little medical office. This was what they told us, "We were taken to a medical office with two other couples getting married either the same day or the day after us. The office was more like a big room with a fabric screen for some privacy...not individual rooms for each couple. They drew the blood with a blood draw needle/syringe, and then "squirted" the blood into a vial. Not like in the US where the lab guy draws your blood into a vacutainer or inserts the needle into a vacutainer to eject the blood into. They literalyl squirted the blood into an open vial, capped it and labeled it. We were then let go when we were done." Doesn't sound exactly sanitary, but I haven't heard anyone on here complain about the process. Since I will technically be getting married less than a full year from the date my divorce was finalized (it took FOREVER to get my divorce finalized)......I would have to take a pregnancy test on top of the blood test.....COME ON PEOPLE.....I have three kids and a tubal!!! LOL Ain't no more babies coming out of here! LOL Seriously, we decided to get leglly hitched in the states because it cost us $35 instead of like $500+.....and no one knows the wiser except us! Our friends did it down there and they wouldn't have had it any other way....so to each their own. Whatever makes you happy!
  9. Also, on the sand ceremony kit.....I picked the one I liked and googled "Heart Sand Ceremony" or something like that. Then I clicked the "Shopping Results" provided by Google and sorted by "Price Low to High". I found that the SAME sand ceremony kit ranged from $40.00 to $120.00 dpeending on which website. Of course you have to check each low price to see if engraving and shipping are included or at a different price. I purchased ours for like $60 total (included all engraving and shipping).....and it is a pretty nice one. Well worth the bucks! Also look up COUPON CODES at Coupon codes and discounts for 50,000 online stores! RetailMeNot.com for the online stores you shop at....a lot of the times you can find coupon sodes for free shipping or percents off for the store you are buying things at. I got a 20% off for Oriental Trading Company (OTC) for the coil wrist bands just yesterday. It all adds up!!!
  10. We are doing a sand ceremony at our wedding...I bought ours online (Add to Cart) but it looks like a heart tear drop vase that sits in a metal stand with the two side pillar vases (ours actually came with a 3rd vase for a child or parent). We got our set engraved with our monogram, wedding date and location and side vases have our first letter engraved on each. I had planned to take in the styrofoam pack it came in and carry it on the plane back with us due to the sand. We are also doing free package, with horse drawn carriage, purchased fans (Michaels) and flowers for real touch bouquets (I'm trying to do them on my own and will let you all know how it goes after my attempt)! We are purchasing our chair sashes at (Chair Sashes- Pew Bows Ribbon - Chair Ribbons 27 colors). I've actually found LOTS of things to purchase from this website....kind of going crazy!!! LOL I just got home from Walmart where I found our OOT bags (turquoise and white trpoical print mesh beach bag). They were on clearance for $2.00 each.....so we bought all 10 of the blue ones and a couple extra in yellow just in case! What a deal! Also, bought coil keychains from (OTC) and zippered badges (ebay) for a total of like $15 for the tip/room key carry thing. Phew....there is so much more, but I can't remember right now! LOLOL Talk to you all later! BTW - The snow came here first...we got 6-10 inches at my house...but it was so wet and warm that it has pretty much all melted by now! Now they are calling for ANOTHER storm on Tuesday and WEdnesday....MORE SNOW...GO AWAY...DON'T COME BACK ANOTHER DAY!
  11. Congrats and welcome....see you in the Moon Palace 2010 thread!
  12. MRhoades, Welcome to BDW....wow, 2 months and you just found us! Glad you did! How excited you must be getting. Just curious, you mentioned the free package and a few upgrades....which ones are you going for? We are always excited to hear everyone elses details! Goodluck! Chelle
  13. I would just add up all the items you want and see if it saves you money versus paying for the package. For me it is a better deal for me to bring the sashes and pay a la carte for the horse carriage.....but for a soloist and other items it would depend on the math and your budget. Let us know what you decide!
  14. WOW...you did a fantastic job. They look awesome with so many goodies! How fun to actually be in Mexico to assemle them!
  15. PS.... RE-VIEW, RE-VIEW, RE-VIEW! LOL I check the wedding reviews almost three times a day for someone thing new....and I am just amazed at how many Dreams reviews I find on there! That place is a factory!!!!
  16. Mrs. Moulton, I actually asked Lily if we could arrange for the free bouquet to be split like you did....and she said "no problem"! So thank you for the fabulous idea...I totally thought I was giving that bouquet up since I am bringing my own.
  17. Congratulations and welcome to BDW! You will have so much fun on this site!!!
  18. No doubt about it, it is expensive...and people will in fact pay the prices they provide to get what they dream of. I've hear that sometimes the resorts will do upgrades on wedding features complimentary....but you definitely can't plan for that. It is tough when you have certain things you want. Good luck!
  19. I've been looking for cute OOT bags that are affordable. Thanks for the tip!
  20. Ladies....I think I've counted about 5-6 of us July brides on here. Don't forget to post your wedding date on the thread below. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-date-9132/
  21. Congrats Leigh! Welcome to BDW....come check us out over on the Moon Palace 201 thread. Also, there is tons of info in the Moon Palace 2008-2009 thread...answers to all the questions you don't even know you have yet! Oh, your gonna have fun!!!
