Woodsylou...a lemon viel would be STUNNING! Especially if you could find something Navy blue to put on the side. Look on Etsy.com. There are several makers of birdcage veils that will custom one for you. I bet they could get you hooked up. I have seen some beautiful ones with a small peacock feather (jus tthe round center part) as the corner piece of the veil - where it attached to the head piece. If you could find something like broach or....just something really classy in Navy blue to use against the lemon....WOW would that be stunning. Look at the pics on Etsy to get some ideas. PS - I put my dress in my soon to be mother-in-laws closet for a few months. I figured if I had a chance to look at it over and over again I would most certainly find flaws with it. So I put it out of sight - out of mind for a while.

Woodsylou....That dress is gorgeous. I love how form fitting is looks. My dress is Wedding Dresses - Sheath Dress with Sweetheart Dropped Waist - WD0645. It cost $269 total with shipping. I was SHOCKED when it came in the mail in a tiny package...but it was perfect. They folded it up so perfect there wasn't a wrinkly in the dress anywhere! But I panicked when I saw how small the little package was.

Have fun and enjoy your honeymoon. Woodsylou, It is basically a 4.5 hour flight from Denver. But airfare is ridiculous these days. So it would be like $2 just to go for the weekend which we just can't justify. As for the dress....if you do decide to shop again for a dress....check out Helene Bridal online. I got my dress from them...$300 included shipping from China. It's a knock off...but I LOVE it and it was made to my measurements which fit fantastic. Think on the dress....try it on a couple more times and think about any alterations you could maybe have done.

What do you mean you went off your wedding dress? You don't like it? You getting a new one? I thought the lemon dress looked wonderful? I too lost my motivation in january......and honestly just started thinking about wedding stuff again this week. I'm really frustrated with one particular aspect that involves a specific person booking their travel. So I just kind of let it go for a few months. Now I'm just ready to get away! Even thought about doing a mini vacation down there for 3 days just to GET AWAY....but it just isn't going to happen. What's up with the dress?

Hello girls...wow it is kind of interesting to see so many new MP brides. Kind of weird reading your posts...as they sound so similar to our posts just 6 months ago. Seems as if you all are getting along well with being assigned a wedding coordinator. I think only a few brides have really had some issues with this. Most of us were assigned a while back as well. Those of you who have Lily...she is way awesome. Thus far my experience with her has been positive as she responds to my emails within a few days each time....even when my wedding was 10 or so months away. Is there anyone else on this thread with a different onsite coordinator assignment? If any of you aren't getting answers to questions...please do ask on here. most of us have been talking to our cooridnators for 6 months or so and have read every inch of this website. It is so addicting...I still look for stuff to this day. For really great pics....check out the Del Sol photography sticky thread at the top. Del Sol has a few MP weddings in their collection that really show the resort. If I could afford them I would book them in a second! Take care and talk with you all soon.

I completely understand....I feel like I want to buy more sometimes and then I remember that we need to drag everything down there. Today i bought a box of those cool wooden fans at Michaels....and I love them. Then i got home and looked at the box and thought...."Sheesh, just more stuff to weigh my suitcase down with" LOL

It cracks me up that she is giving a play-by-play during her wedding! I love it!

Yep...I basically emailed the manager listed above my wedding coordinator's name on the website. I explained that I was no longer getting married and needed to cancel the entire hotel reservation (as that is the only part our cooridnator had done). She contacted my cooridnator and they tried to convince me to use the reservations anyhow or put the deposit I had already put down towards future travel. I declined and asked for a refund of everything. Took 6 weeks for the Funjet deposit to come through my bank account. Then, I just emailed the manager again stating that I had recieved the deposit refund, but had not received the $50 yet. She said... "Thank you for your email! I'm glad to hear you received the refund from Funjet. Unfortunately our accounting department cannot process the refund check until after the tour operator has processed your refund, so they should be able to do this now. I have updated our accounting department and they should be able to send out the $50 refund check within the next 7-10 business days." So, I am now waiting the 7-10 business days to see if they will come through or not. I would like to also mention that they initially told me there would be a $50 cancellation fee per person for from Funjet. I countered that I would not accept a cancellation fee deduction since I never signed any document stating that. They returned my email stating that they "mis-understood" Funjet and there would be no cancellation fee. So just stand your ground...nicely.

I am a "former" dw.com bride...."former" being the key word. To describe my experience in a nutshell...not knowledgable enough to give info on various resorts, not attentive to emails or phone calls, website is decieving (it looks full of flash and awe....but that is it...flash and awe), felt as if I did all the work...wait...I DID do all the work! And I too felt very pushed into using one of the Azul resorts...which was honestly way out of my price range. When we picked MP I felt as if I took a backseat on her priority list. Her prices were not competative at all. So switched to Tammy (the Hostess with the Mostest) and saved a bundle on the same reservation. Just got my Funjet refund back the other day (took about 6 weeks to get) and am still waiting on my $50 refund check!!! My advice....read this forum first...pick a couple resorts and then find a TA who is knowledgable....(hint hint - the ladies running this forum!!!).

Congrats and welcome. This is about the best resource for planning your destination wedding out there. You will find so many ideas and concepts you may not have ever even thought of. My suggestion to you would be to read the "sticky" posts on the Newbie and How To threads....that will explain how this forum works. once you get the hang of it it can be addicting! Good luck!

What a great concept...I just saw this posting for the first time. I will be getting married at Moon Palace on July 17, 2010 and would love to be aded to the blue starfish list if possible. How does this work? You girls are all so incredibly creative!

I saw a review where someone placed a towel for each guys favorite sports team in there. I don't think she paid too much for them either.
