Yep, doing the Brazilian. I'm getting it done in about 3 weeks (supposed to let the forrest grow) to see how I react and then again the day before we leave, since we leave on a Wednesday and get married on a Sunday. Everyone I know has told me to do a test run before the wedding in case I break out or anything like that happens....

Zulma said no more than 8 and we saw a table of 8 and it looked pretty tight. You can just let your WC know how many at a table you want. With only 39 guests it shouldn't be bad. Are all of you doing a long table for the bride and groom and wedding party, or is that possible? Jess I'll take your advice and go with 6. On another note, I just got emailed my new WC!!!!! Finally!!
  3. Alright girls, so I've decided to have two entrees for the reception dinner. I have 39 guests and I'm trying to avoid doing a seating chart. My idea is to have cards at each table (one pink, one blue) to distinguish which entree they want. Chicken can be pink and beef blue. Of course I would give the Royal a count ahead of time, but then the servers will know who gets what and I do not have to force everyone into a seating chart. What do you think of this, would it work? Or is it not a good idea? Also, how many per table? I thought 6 but since I'm WC-less right now I couldn't verify.

We let everyone know that rates change all the time but they just keep going up and that our TA would match any other on line sites if they pay in full. This got everyone booking very quickly and handling their own plans , less stress for me lol I agree with this completely. We did individual booking as well. The group rate put too much pressure on us and I don't like talking money either!!!
  5. I totally feel for you. My fiance's ex tried to contact him for the entire first year and 1/2 we were dating. She's CRAZY. She even to this day (we've been dating 5 years, they've been broken up 5 1/2) talks about me on facebook. We don't know each other and have only ran into each other for a total of about 5 minutes. I just don't get it. She's even married but she's STILL talking about me. LOL I guess all we can do is realize that they're with us now and there is a reason that ex's are ex's, huh? Crazy girls!

And I'm glad the color you requested is the color she made! I want bright white (I'm a really dark skinned white person, ha) and am hoping it's the brilliant white I'm looking for! Seeing your dress made me more confident in my decision!

Thanks everyone for posting tons of helpful information and specific info about your weddings. I have a few questions and of course it's a bit hard to get answers from my WC, who thanks to you i just learned moved to mexico! ha! Lighting for the reception (it will be dark out by that time). What is anyone's experience with lighting? In the del Sol photos I've seen tables that light up different colors. Is that standard? Is there a fee for that? I would love to have that! Does the hotel supply that? What other lighting is available? I was thinking of bringing some cool string lights, is that necessary or do they provide other lighting? Music for reception - Does anyone have experience with bringing an Ipod loaded with music and using that for the reception? Does the hotel provide a sound system/speakers and is there a charge for that? I am thinking of getting the Mexican trio for the cocktail hour and then using an Ipod, as I'm not a huge fan on DJs. Is there someone available from the staff that can make sure the Ipod is running? Dance floor option. I understand they charge $700 for light-up dance floor. But in del Sol photos I've seen a plain dance floor? Anyone have experience/info about this? I'd like to just have a simple dance floor & not pay $700 for it! Any comments/info? Mayan Ceremony - has anyone had this ceremony & can comment on it? Mayan Dancers - I want to have the mayan dancers during the cocktail hour - does anyone know whether I can have them perform at any time or whether it has to be during the ceremony? I did not really get a straight answer from my WC. Cocktail hour. Has anyone had the champagne & cold appetizers? Was this nice? I feel like I should have an open bar, but it seems so silly to pay $20 per person for an hour of that when it's an all-inclusive! Thank so much for any info/help!! Rachel Welcome Rachel!! What most girls do is they go back and read through this post (it takes a while but SO worth it) to get answers for everything. A lot of the time the questions have been answered and you'll gain a TON of information and get up to speed. I started asking questions right when I joined then someone informed me of the same thing. So it took a couple nights but I went through the entire thread and got ALL of my questions answered and more. I hope that helps!!!

I totally would be rockin' the afro with all that humidity! I have naturally tight CURLY hair and after it's blown out or had a flat iron on it it will bounce right back into a curl at the first sign of moisture. Definitely need someone good. Jess Fernando still hasn't sent me anything on how to pay him. I would like to put a deposit down or do as much before we go as possible so I don't have to take cash for everything. Did you already pay him?

I totally agree, the straps aren't exactly "simple" so I'm anxious to see how they turn out. I think you and I should be getting pictures of our dress around the same time. 19. So I've read enough on this board and talked to a lot of you so I figured when mug-time came it would be fine. Well, since these will be the main gift in our OOT bags and FI's groomsmen like to have a good time, he took an interest in them as well. We know we want the insulated mugs (as opposed to just cups) and we want them bigger. I say 20oz FI says 34oz. I went to 'Bubba Kegs' but it doesn't seem you can personalize them? I'm NOT crafty and FI wasn't too keen on the idea of me trying to place our monogram or sticker on ourselves. So, where can I get large, insulated mugs that I can personalize? Maybe it's on every site (discountmugts.com, vistaprint.com) and I'm just overlooking it but it's driving me NUTTY. Thanks in advance and I apologize if this is a repeat question.
