Bienvenue! Ici c'est beaucoup d'information! (Yes, I realize I probably am grammatically incorrect. Its supposed to say "Here is lots of information!" French is not my forte!) But welcome! And good luck!

Does this make me a horrible person????
bholthof replied to diamondpooch's topic in Just venting or funnies
Just wondering - if he has no problem critiquing you then I don't think you should have a problem bringing up your concerns with him. Or maybe you just have to let it go. If he doesn't see a problem or want to do anything about it - then he isn't going to do anything about it no matter what. It sounds like you've already tried to bring it up a bit... but if he has no interest then he isn't going to do anything about it. Maybe he won't look perfect in your wedding pictures - but its still going to be your wedding day, which means as long as you love each other it will be wonderful, and the pictures will be a great memory. Besides, when you're both 85, you aren't going to be in good shape anyway. I think that as long as he isn't ACTIVELY living a slovenly or lazy lifestyle, which is causing him to gain weight - a few extra pounds is just more to love. As long as he isn't unhealthy - just let it go. When its a health issue, then bring it up - but unless he is motivated to make a change, it isn't going to happen. -
The best workout DVDs I have ever owned- P90X

I have been doing so badly! I did the first two weeks just fine, and then LIFE caught up to me and I haven't done it in four days!! And tonight doesn't look much better! ARGH!!!! Its not that hard to spend an hour exercising every day! WHY can't I just DO THIS - oh, I know. Its because I need about 18 hours every day just to get through everything I have to get through in a day. And I value my sleep. sigh. -

Yoga X again tonight - so proud of myself, I could actually do some of those ridiculously difficult poses where you are standing on one leg leaning over and twisting sideways with one arm up in the air! I like yoga . . . maybe I'll take up yoga after P90X is done!! Along with dance, and jiu jitsu. -
Goodness! Well, there are lots of places to go to look for dresses - which part of Ottawa do you live in? I can maybe help you narrow it down a bit that way... Although honestly, I didn't do a lot of dress shopping - I did go to a couple shops to try on the different styles, but wound up loving a dress I saw online and I bought it for $150 on Ebay. However, I DID go to dress shops to try on the styles so I could have some idea what actually looked good on me!! The shops I went to were All that Glitters Bridal in North Gower (about 1/2 an hour outside Ottawa) because I met up with my sister who lives in Kemptville, and North Gower was about half way. I also went to Dominique Levesque Bridal on Carling - although they have a shop in Gatineau as well. There were a couple others I would have hit up if I hadn't loved the dress I got, so let me know where abouts you are and I'll let you know whats close! THere are a couple brides on here from Ottawa - I'm sure between us all we can help you out!

Arms and shoulders & ab ripper take 2 last night - I was able to either up my weight or up my reps for it, yay!!I hope that means I'm gaining muscle and not that I just didn't try last week! Again - I HATE abripper!! However, I could almost keep up - probably only really having trouble with the wide leg sit ups and fifer scissors. And probably a couple others, but those are the ones I remember. Keep up the good work ladies!!!! How are you doing with the program?? I've decided not to do the diet. There are lots of reasons, but its mostly because the diet is designed for people who want to bulk up in mind - and I don't really want to put on a ton of muscle. Plus I just can't eat that much in a day!! So I'll use some of the recipes, because they are healthy, but I'm not going to follow the diet myself. I'm still eating healthier than most people! -

Week two has started now - did Cardio X and Core Synergistics the past two days. I think it was EASIER than it was the first time around, but I definately felt tired quicker. Arms and Shoulders tonight! -
Hi! I agree with the others -buy what you like and what looks GREAT on you. That being said - some things to keep in mind. Us larger girls with bigger busts don't always look as nice in strapless gowns because of how they make us bulge out in the armpits or around the back. However, there are LOTS of girls on here that are in strapless gowns and are plus size that still look great. It will depend on the dress and what you wear under it. If the point is to accent your breasts - why not try something with a plunging neckline in a halter style or similar? But anyway - I suggest trying on all kinds of different styles - sometimes what looks the best on you is something you normally wouldn't consider!

You've been ENGAGED for 9 years?? Jeepers, how long have you been together?? Ok, my honest opinion, based on what you have wrote, is that even though you're finally getting married - the wedding isn't really something that is too important to you. Yes, its a wedding and its a legal and official commitment to each other, so it definately IS important, but whats made you put it off for 9+ years? Cause I'm assuming you guys were together before you got engaged. And honestly... I'm sure that everyone who you're inviting is very close to you guys and probably views you as married already. So why make a huge deal out of it now? Obviously you don't REALLY want to make a huge deal out of the wedding - or it would have been more of a priority, and you would PROBABLY be doing something a little less small and intimate. So my opinion is first, don't sweat the small stuff. This forum can be VERY overwhelming - especially if, like me, all you want is a small, simple, intimate ceremony. You CAN leave all the details to the resort and the wedding coordinator. So take a breath, and decide what YOU want for your wedding. Second, talk to your sister and find out if she was serious. Double weddings can be very heartfelt and special. If you are really close to your sister, you may want to consider it. After all, if she is willing to share the spotlight (even if she hasn't been engaged for 9 years) and you are super close, AND you don't really want this to be a big thing, and neither does she - maybe it would be a good idea. The most important thing is to do what you want to do to make your wedding special. If that means a small intimate ceremony with just immediate family and friends, then so be it. If that is a double ceremony with your sister and her FI, then ok. But its your wedding, you can do whatever you want. Also, I'm in Ottawa too. If you need help or suggestions or anything, PM me and I can give you my contact info, or provide advice. I don't mind helping out. Good luck! Take a breath, relax, enjoy yourself. Hopefully you'll only have to do it once!

First off, thanks everyone who loves my siggy... I think its pretty great too Second, Days 5 & 6 : Legs & back/Ab ripper and Kenpo X Well, the legs and back wasn't too bad, except for the wall squats. When the super ripped people are having trouble, then you KNOW its not easy, lol!! Although I think I must be doing something wrong with using the bands for the chin ups - I can do like 15 or more with the bands. Shouldn't it be harder?? Maybe I'm just not far enough away... or the band isn't enough weight. Especially because I can't do a single chin up without using a chair for help. ALthough with a chair I can still do about 5 or more - so I don't think I'm doing it right. Its hard to watch them and do my own at the same time - especially since our bar is in a different room. Kenpo X - not too terrible I can mostly keep up, although there were a couple times when I quit and didn't do the full 30. But that sure does make ya sweat!! -

Ok - but how big are your "girls" I'm somewhere between a D cup and a double D depending on the bra - would the tape still be dependable for my heavy ladies?? -

Day 4 - Yoga X - made it through the whole thing - man, I am no good at Yoga!! Although the only thing I really COULDN'T do at all was the crane - everything else I could sort of attempt, at least. The beginning totally kicked my @$$ but I like how it slows down for the last half. -

Mug/Cup actual costs??
bholthof replied to bholthof's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Amy & Nadine, which ones did you order? I was going to check your planning thread, Amy, but your links aren't working. -
Hi ladies, I'm wondering what you actually wound up paying for your travel mugs per piece (or staduim cups). Do you mind posting the total cost (including shipping) of your order, as well as how many you ordered - then broken down to a per piece amount? I'm trying to figure out if its worth it - I really want personalized mugs, but I don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for customs mugs/cups. All the ones I seem to like are already almost 5 or more dollars each, then there is shipping calculated on top of that. Plus they all have minimum orders and I really only need about 25. And I'd go in on a group order, but I love my monogram and really want to put it on a mug or cup. Sigh. Decisions, decisions... Thanks for your input.

Day 3 last night: Shoulders & arms and Ab ripper X - shoulders and arms wasn't so bad, but I hate, hate, HATE abripper!! Although I guess there are abs underneath all that flab - I could feel them today! Question for you ladies - are you able to keep up with Tony? Or do you pause and keep going until you've caught up? -
Hi! What we did (what our travel agent was able to do) was to get us a great rate first. We then secured 20 seats by paying the deposits ourselves. We secured 20 seats because we KNEW that there were 20 people coming. Our TA was then able to get the airline to set aside an additional 9 seats/rooms for our group. So then we had a bit more time to tell the people we knew were going to call the TA and pay thier own deposits. As thier deposits came in, we had the option of having the money refunded back onto our credit card or applied to our total account. (we applied it to our total) Our final payment date is February 1st. So we sent out our invites a couple weeks ago, with an RSVP of late January. Now, if anyone else wants to go, they have the option of getting our group rate with the 9 extra set aside for us. If nobody decides to come, however, we lose those seats in the beginning of January and people are on thier own for getting a rate. I notice that you don't know your wedding date - yyou might want to find that out... hopefully your resort has dates available. Don't know if that really answers your questions, but it is a solution that might be possible, as long as you know that some people are DEFINATELY going. In our case it was almost all immediate family who'd already committed.

Day 2: Cardio X - not too bad. Sweating buckets by the end though. Tonights Day 3 on lean: Arms & shoulders - lets see how pathetic I am!! lol. -
Hi ladies - I did a search, but didn't really find what I'm looking for. I really want a ring bearer for our wedding - my sister had a baby in April, so when we get married this coming April, my only nephew will be 1 year old. I don't think he'll be walking on his own yet, let alone old enough to understand what he is supposed to do. But I still want him to have that role. My question is - how do I have such a young child pull off this role? I don't really want my BIL to carry/walk him down the aisle - but my sister is my MOH - would it look weird to have her walk him down the aisle? I was at a wedding this summer where the bride had her infant (6 months) as the ring bearer, and one of the junior bridesmaids pulled him down the aisle in a wagon (in his car seat) with the rings on a pillow in front of him. It was super cute, but I don't think Lincoln would sit so nicely in a wagon - he's a bit old for that. I also don't want to cart a wagon down to Cuba. Any suggestions? Thank you.
