We are doing a symbolic ceremony at the Ellegance in Feb,..Does anyone know how the salon is with doing make up? I heard if you bring a photo for your hairtsyle, they are great at re-creating it, not sure about the make up though! I'm not confortable doing on my own or having any of our friends/family doing it. Also..does anyone know if you have to pre book for these services, or just arrange once you are on-site?

We peeked in from above so we could get an idea as to how we wanted to do out layout, but I never saw you ask Kai if he or one of his friends walked away with Kraigs (my FI) "captain morgan" pirate hat, lol...Kraig has this pirate hate that looks just like the Captain Morgan hat, and he was wearing it around the house...one of Kai's friends had it on that I saw last...and mysteriously it was no where to be found the next day!! lol...Its a pretty funny hat! lol So how much were you guys charging for drinks? We were going to $3.00, but i'm thinking to stick at $2.50. What did you charge for yuor raffle prizes? i really like the candy one!! We were goin to a package price with regular sheets of tix with some grand prizes. we've been seeing that at a lot of socials now, it seems like the asy way to go!! The social we were at was prety good, a lot of people, it was for a guy that Kraig wors with. I dont' like it upstairs though, it's long and rectangular. You chose well with the main floor, thats what we chose too! They did have a trip for to Vegas, but yix were like $10.00 each..i don't know what his take away was from the social... So are you set to go with the wedding details??

Hey Tris!!  This is too funny, we were at the social upstairs on Sept 18 at Dakota!! lol We had an after party, and your fiance and some of his friends were were there!? They were in the parking lot when we rounding up everyone to go to our place, I thought they were a part of our group, but found out it was the groom from the other social (your social!) anyways, they ended up coming, and I kept asking when his bride (you) would be arriving, but you never came!!! I had no idea that the bride was you!!!!!! What a small world!! We could have met..too bad!! lol  I'm so glad your social went well! 9000.00 is a huge figure!! What kind of prizes did you guys have?

Hey Lisa!! Congrats fellow wpger!!! We are getting married only like a month apart at sister resorts!! lol Do you mind me asking the cost for DJ mania? I heard he's like 200.00/hr is that true?

We are using a TA from Sell Off Vacations in Winnipeg, she's been great!! She mentioned the Majestic resorts don't typical have huge sales, so if you are holding out for that, you may want to reconsider... Flights out of Winnipeg cost $2050.00 taxes in for one week to the Elegance, which is more expensive out of the 2 resorts. We do have a guest flying out of Toronto who's ticket cost just under 2 grand. We are flying direct via Air Canada, which is nice cause apparently they have a larger weight restriction on their luggage than other airlines. We anticipated it would cost roughly 2 grand with a group rate, and we were pretty darn close!! we know it may be a bit pricey, but we told all our guests a year out that this was our plan and that it would probably cost 2 grand, just so there were no surprises! It is your wedding!!! And you don't want to stay in a dump!! lol

I actually found my shoes before I found my dress lol!! Hopefully it all comes together, I really liked the wedge flip flop! I will be able to wear it all day no problem, and walk on the sand!! YIweddings, Hang in there, people need a little gentle reminders every....day (lol) that they need to book! We had the same thing, but not on the same scale as you, we booked through air canada vacations, and had to secure 10 deposits of $150 each to secure the rate. We paid it up front, and sent a mass text message & email advising people to book by such and such date. We had 13 booked by our cut off date so we were good to go!! For us, flights out of Winnipeg cost $2050.00 taxes in for one week at the Majestic Elegance, which is on par with our estimate of $2000.00. Some people did have somethig to say about the rate, but you know what, it's our wedding, they have to realize you are't going to stay in a dump!! Plus we told everyone a year ago what our plan was, and the projected cost, so in all fairness they were warned!!!! lol Just hang in there, things will come together!

I was on the same page as you! I didn't think havinga shower or a gift registry was appropraite, however my fiance's mother wants to do a shower, and we are having an AHR. Many of or guests won't be able to make our DW, so I am now okay in doing the whole shower, registry thing!!! For those who are coming to our DW we are making it clear a gift is not expected!! We are staying at the Mjestic Elegance, and are going with HDC photo as well. Arnaud is really freindly, and prompt in getting back to you. There has not been ONE single complaint about his services that I have found on this forum. As for the $300.00 we are just going to pay it, but talk to Arnaud about this, perhaps he can work something out with you, if he is still available of course!! Good luck!

I was just looking at4imprint.ca and it seem that there min order is pretty high on most travel mugs, like 50! So I'm thinking of ordering through discount mug once I have a final number on how many mugs I need to order as they don't have the min number for orders, plus there are discount codes that float around on this forum for that site. The mug I was looking at would cost me $175.00 USD with shipping to CAD for 25 mugs. I don't know what the duty will be, perhads another 50? I don't know if these mugs are made in the US or not. I signed up to get notifications on specials as well. If anyone has any other suggestions for us canadian girls I'm all ears! lol

We have booked LaBarcaza for our wedding reception! We get picked up at 4pm and go on the sunset dinner cruise. We are going with the mix grill open bar option, and may decide to book an additional hour. Flori has been great to work with thus far! Our photographer is HDC who also works with LaBarcaza so that makes it convenient as well!! We are doing this as a surprise for our guests! We are very excited!!!!

Well ladies!! Sandra got back to me with her sincerest apologies as May is a very crazy time for them. I have worked out and now booked our wedding date!!! Feb 25, 2011 - Majestic Elegence 1:00 pm on the beach (symbolic ceremony)!!!!!! Yippeeeee!!!! We also just booked with La Barcaza for our reception, sent the wire transfer today to secure it!!! It's all coming together!!! I do feel for you guys though!! now that we have our date and time secured...i am not going sweat the rest, I am at ease!! it can all be worked out!! Okay! I'm beginning to get annoyed with Sandra! I emailed her a week ago to verify if she had 3 or 4 pm available for Feb 25, and she hasn't replied back!!! Why does she take sooo long!!! I have emailed her previously on other matters and that took a long time for her to reply! I know they are busy, but its really hard to book anything else until I have our ceremony time! We want to book our photographer and LaBarcaza for our reception, and I can't secure those until I hear back from her!! Argghhh!! I just had to vent!!! Sorry guys!!!

Hi there tobelivy! We were originally thinking of this resort, but we couldnt find awhole lot about it. the reviews on other sires were not consistant, and there wasn't a lot of info here. We contacted the resort and found out you have to use their photographer, which we didn't real care for, tropical sun or something.. they didn't get great reviews on this site. Its too bad cause it looked like a great resort!!
