  3. So ladies need your advice, Lisa I know you had been going back and forth about shipping stuff down. Well I am now to. We are now flying on Spirit Air and they charge an insane amount of money for baggage. Not to mention we are now on a connecting flight instead of direct. Â I just spoke with Zulma and she said it would be no problem to ship things down and she sent me the address right away. Â My question is has anyone looked at the cost of shipping versus bringing down with you? I am just thinking the shipping down would give me peace of mind lol so I don't have to lug everything. She said as long as everything is insured it should be no problem. Of course put receipts in there etc. Â Whats everyones thought on this? Â

  5. Thanks ladies, and I totally agree. I am going to write to her boss and ask about the commissions I did not even think about that. I mean I feel bad but than I don't. I know she is so overwhelmed but than under extrenuating circumstances like these other agents should get involved and help out to. Â I had to call everyone of my guests. She should have offered to do that. Than she messed and said she got confused and sorry and it was just a mess. If I knew we were all going to have to do the work ourselves I would have never gotten a TA what is the point. Ya thankfully none of my guests had any issued with the cc companies either but that is not even the point. Â The other thing was certain amounts I was given did not match. It turned out this one was booked for just the room and someone else had the flights, or they were two flight charges bundled into one. As a TA how can you not know this. Â Worst by the time this was all resolved and everyone went to book the flights had gone up even more! Â For now I am just glad we are all getting there. However I have to think how to word it and do it but some how this travel agency will compensate us for all the money we had to shell out and all the work I had to do. Â Any ways enough with me being the debbie downer around here lately lol thank you so much for everyone support. I wouldn't have been able to get through this without your girls.
  6. Well I retract everything I said yesterday I just cannot get over all of this. We were told everything would be all set only to be told by our TA that she was misinformed and this was not the case. Â So I ended up having to call all my guests last night and just had them dispute the charges and had everyone re-book on their own. Thankfully pretty much everyone is all set. Â This has been the most horrendous experience. I hope no one ever has to go through this.
  7. YAY for us I am to am happy that this is all working out for everyone. Â For you ladies in 2011 if you have not booked yet and have not gotten a TA do so immediately. Everything we just went through with Mexicana would not have been resolved without our TA. Our poor Expedia guests who booked with them against are recommendation are now screwed.
  8. You have no idea ChicagoBride!!! I had 60 extremely angry guests who just kept calling and I had no answers. Â Well hopefully we can put this behind us. I am almost two months away! and I have a lot to do. In good news we got our mugs today and I love them. I will take pics tomorrow to share with you guys.
  9. Ya Lo I mean this is clearly out of our control. I hope we can put this behind us and focus now on the million things we still have to do lol well I have to do. I want to be ale to finally relax and starting mentally preparing for my wedding day
  10. omg yay!!!! great news for us thank god for our TA. Everyone got their money back and she is just applying everything to new flights. A few people including us had to pay $150 extra per person others are actually getting refunds because their flights are cheaper now. Â I feel so relieved I can't even tell you guys. I hope you all are having the same luck I will be thinking and praying this all gets resolved for all of you.
  11. OMG great news!!!!!!!! I am so happy right now I am crying. My TA was in meetings and that''s why she could not get back to me. I feel so bad about being so mad before now, my TA is so wonderful. I just had not heard from her and freaked out. Â Well we all got our money back except for 5 people who were booked directly through Mexicana. So they have to call and dispute the charges with the credit card company not sure how that is going to go. Â What sucks is the flights are so much more now for some of our guests they are actually getting a refund. For me and others its like a $150 per person. But nothing we can do. Â but we got our money back thank god
  12. I know exactly who you are talking about and I have the same TA. I just had to write an e-mail to her boss because we still have not gotten an answer. Do we need to call our credit companies and dispute the charges or did the tour operators agree to just let us pay the difference in flights. Â I had asked for a list with all the information we need. I still have not received it. I am actually completely shocked that as a travel agent you would not have this information on hand. I am talking about ticket numbers and reservation codes. All my guests keep calling me and emailing me and I don't have an answer. Not only do I not have an answer but I e-mailed my TA at 8:44am this morning and I still have not heard anything. Â I am alarmed that I even had to be the one to call my TA. Even in her absence as a travel agency they should have had another agent e-mail me and all my guests letting us know what has happened and that they are working on it. In order to keep everyone calm you would hope that we would all get continous updates. Other wise what is the point of going through a travel agent if they can't do anything different than lets say Expedia etc. during the times when you most need them. Â By the way American Airlines is offering a special 20% discount to Mexicana flyers who are traveling between now and October 28th.

  14. thanks Girafexx! the support right now means a lot  for anyone having the same issue I just found out for anyone traveling between now and September 20th Aeromexico is helping out and offering discounted tickets for Mexicana passengers.   16. Hi ladies, Â I am with Lo on this one and it sucks majorly. I was told though it can take months to get the refund if at all. I was advised to have everyone call their credit card company and dispute the charges. Â I am just waiting for our TA to see if the fund can just be transferred to the new flights and pay the difference. Having said that if people change from direct to connecting there is not much of a price difference. So at the worst we can offer everyone that option.
  17. Thanks Risa!  Ya Mexicana went bankrupt and called all their flights. The company has officially gone under.  Msgalve - I would highly recommend having your guests call their credit card companies asap and dispute the charges   Mexicana does have a refund link but I am being told it can take up to 6 months receive that refund if at all. So right now the best thing is to call your credit card company and dispute the charges in order to get the money back.   This is beyond stressful. I don't know how I am going to explain to my guests that they now have to pay $600 when they had previously paid $350 for their flights. I am so beside myself that I had to leave work today. I am waiting to hear from our TA. Apperantly the tour operators are talking with mexicana to see if they can get the money back. This way we can transfer and just pay the difference. Which still really sucks because the flights are so much more but better than everyone losing their money.  FI thinks I should contact Oprah ahaha I was like babe I don't think that will resolve anything right now but it was a good try   I will keep you ladies posted as the saga continues
  18. Lo I am stuck in the same problem. And I have all 85 guests with this issue now. I cant believe this is happening and I can't believe that Mexicana is not responsible for getting everyone onto other flights.

  21. I am totally freaking out right now, just found out mexicana has canceled all flights indefinately. I have 85 guests on mexicana my TA is away on vacation and I don't even know what to do right now. Does anyone know if our travel agency will have to get us on new flights or what happens now?
