  1. Sam, I can't pull up the picture, when I google the designer and number I get nothing =( Do you have a picture?

We got a glass sand ceremony kit - this one from Beau Coup Personalized Heart Shaped Unity Sand Ceremony Set. It's pretty, but it has a glass jar, and 3 glass vases for the sand. It added to our luggage because we had to keep it packaged in its box with the styrofoam. We did the sand ceremony and the wedding coordinator sent the items back to our room later. Even with tissue stuffed into the top of the jar to hold the sand in place, it moved around and got all mixed up because we packed it with our checked baggage. Maybe if you took it as a carry on it would fare better. Hope that helps! Thanks Janet

  4. bholthof That's a long time to have an invitation, I think the RSVP reminder is a good idea, but why not wait until November or send them as soon as you can and put the RSVP for December. Just a thought, I have been victim to knowing you have time to RSVP and then the time passes...
  5. We are doing the Del Mar from Monday to Monday and heading over to the Grand until Saturday for our Honeymoon. =) I also just booked Claudia, we are going through the third draft of the contract. I just wanted all things 'unsaid' in the contract =) It's a lot of money, but pictures mean a lot to us and we'll have them forever.

What the heck??!! Maybe that's for the Spa at the Grand I'm going to email my WC to see what the story is. I have completely different prices for 2010 Del Mar. The Del Mar is the lower end hotel out of the 5, you would think those prices would be cheaper, but a manicure is $69. Taken from the pdf file. Spa Treatments (our luxury Spa offers an entire world of sensations just for you) •Brides hairstyle US$ 110 •Manicure US$ 69 •Pedicure US$ 79 •Relaxing Massage – 50 minute US$ 99 •Relaxing Massage – 30 minutes US$ 68
  7. Anyone getting married in the Chapel? Or any past brides get married in the Chapel? I am wondering if we need to provide the tea-light canldes for the two heart votive structures. chapel.pdf

  9. Random question - Past brides or future brides How much is appropriate to tip the WC? And do you tip the photo and videographer?
  10. Steph, Thanks I did receive the prices and additional fees as well. Let me know if you want them. [email protected] The prices did go up in my mind. They took away the bridal test hair, hair, manicure and pedicure. Additionally, they altered the Spa treatments for bride and groom. I don't know about you ladies, but I live in NY and work in NYC and I have NEVER EVER EVER heard of $69 manicure. I was so shocked to see this. And a pedicure is $79. UGH!!! Also the bridemaids bouquets were $15 now $29, corsages $5 now $15. These little things are adding up. Also note, additional people over 10 for the packages was $18 per head, now it’s $20.
  11. My dress is tafetta. Mostly because I like the 'raw silk' type feel to it and look. It's not a pure white, it's called diamond white...but I love it. And on the plus side...tafetta is VERY light weight. I didn't even feel like I was in a wedding dress.
  12. My Aunt and Uncle just renewed last summer...and they were from IN too =) There are so many great threads on here. Also tripadvisor.com is GREAT for pics and reviews. Good luck and congrats on 25...SILVER right?
  13. Not to get too personal...but if your chesty...I vote 1. If not, I Vote 2. I am a 36B and I was swallowed by the low plunging dresses...it just looks better on bigger chests (I think)... Good Luck
  14. I think it's on all of our minds. Don't be discouraged by people’s signatures that say how many have booked. It also depends on how many you’re inviting. For instance we are inviting 150 and 22 are booked. It's our immediate families, a few bridal party members and those who knew this was in the works for a long time and were dying for us to get engaged and book the place. We have been together since March of 2002. So they knew...but people have their own lives and that's just the truth. I think that you need to put an RSVP on the invitations. Give two months. An FYI for my time frame. Sent STD in May 09 with reference to the website. Sending invitations first week in January 2010. RSVP due by Feb 28, 2010 We leave April 26th. If people I know aren't booked yet that have expressed interest, at that point it's rude...just like any other non RSVPer’s and I would call them to find out their intentions. Just my opinion.
  15. What her face like? Was your WC against it? I personally think it's a nice touch to get everyone who's apart of this special day together and comfortable with each other. We are doing a rehearsal dinner but not physically doing the rehearsing part. Everyone in our bridal party has walked up and down an isle before =)

I think their communication is getting better with the amount of destination weddings. At least the prices went up to reflect that...
  19. Hi ladies...so it's been a while. Work is crazy. Anywho, here is the Tropical menu. Let me know your thoughts. I have people who only eat Chicken and I am asking if they'll accomodate. TROPICAL.pdf
  20. mmshaughness~~~ I hear ya on the booking part. I thought more people would have booked based on the STDs in May and the website, but alas the FI and I think we are the only hits on the website =) We aren't going to get the invites done before November I think, but we are looking to send the first week in January with an RSVP on Feb. 28. It's still 8 weeks with the invite. I think the letter is great to get the ball rolling again. Then hopefully it will be the topic of conversation for Thanksgiving and Christmas =)
  21. Congrats Shannon, glad you had a great experince. I hope you can share pictures when they're available. =)
  22. That's a great point....Where is Kelly?? I don't like Naomi's sis AT ALL!!! She's trouble, they both are. Rumor has it that something happens between Kelly and the principal this season...UGH!!! I like the dad, I don't want him to be a cheater.....
  23. Amy ~ I try to check CNN at work ;-) Agreed about the OOT Bags, but our biggest purchase will be the T-Shirts. We have been trying to buy things off season now...the summer sales were great! I received the final 2010 prices...there were so MAJOR changes. For instance no more hair trial, hair, mani & peid for the bride. That would all be separate =( And that's a big expense. Also, the mention of the Italian rest., I contacted them and Karla said we can still do the Tropical for the open air private reception. The DJ prices went up too!!!
  24. Nadine~If you like 'Always' by JP Hoe you may like Joshua Radin. He has some good songs. Two I like are: I'd Rather Be With You and What If You Also a friend of ours did Cold Play - sparks From the Wedding Crashers when Rachel McAdams was going to sneek into Owen Wilson's room and tip-toes through the hallway. It's a lot of music, little lyrics but GREAT song!
