  1. Jennie, I work in TSA and recommend that check-in the knife set, which is not allowed through the TSA Security Checkpoint....you can carry on the rest of the items. If you want a complete list of items that can go through the TSA Security Checkpoint click on the link below: TSA: Prohibited Items Good Luck!
  2. If you look like you can drink...then they will give you a drink. You will have no problems, she will be able to drink. Have fun!
  3. I just wanted to say congratulations on your weddings! I would have loved to get married in Cuba...especially since I am Cuban! It would have been the best destination wedding ever! Please continue to post pictures from Cuba! Good luck!
  4. Welcome! You are going to find a lot of ideas on BDW.
  5. Carla, One of my guest gave me a great idea today, maybe have a theam party at the club one of the nights...disco night, toga night, latin night....something to that effect.
  6. Thank you for the info! A co-worker of mine recommended "Weddings in the Bahamas". Have you heard of them? Can you give me any feedback on them?
  7. Yeah I also went with a WC in the island. Has NCL given you any perks? Extras? I was planning on contacting them to see if I can get anything. Good luck with the wedding planning!
  8. Thank you for all the feedback! I didn't state "A formal invitation to follow" on my STD, but I like the idea of "thank you for booking...." My FI has a lot of family in NJ who will not be able to attend so he really wants to send the invitations to them, also to provide our gift registry information. I did buy the invitation stock already to create the invitation, but I was thinking about using them for the bridal shower. I was thinking about creating the boarding pass invitation for my guest who has booked on the cruise since I recently found the template to create them. Thanks again!
  9. Can anyone recommend a WC in Nassau Bahamas?
  10. I am getting married on NCL Sky the weekend of October 16, 2009? Any other NCL brides?
  11. I need to get some feedback from cruise brides concerning invitations. I sent out my STD back in April for my wedding in October 2009...most of my guest (approximately 50) have booked their cruise already. My question is...Should I send out formal invitations as well? Your thoughts.......
  12. I have decided to handout my OOT bags during embarkation. Since we are doing a group check-in, I have my sisters and maid of honor handing out the OOT bags. I was able to get a great deal on the bags at Bijoux Terner, they were 50 percent off! I am giving on OOT bag per cabin. Since we are only gong on a weekend cruise, we have decided to place the following items in the OOT bags: •Disposable Cameras (beach wedding theme) •Beach Towel •Wedding T-Shirt •Itinerary •Gift from Bride and Groom: picture frame •Beach ball •Frisbee •Lip balm •Visors Also at the ceremony we are placing parasols on the chairs so guest can cover themselves from the sun. I might add on some additional items to the bag…however I have to stay within budget! LOL
  13. Congrats! I would recommend that you put on your invitation something like "Join us for a port side ceremony on CCL Miracle on XX day at 10:30 am" On my save the dates I mentioned a shore side wedding in Nassau Bahamas since had not confirmed the time of the wedding. I also attached the cruise information to include the travel agents info. I opted out in hiring TWE due to the reviews I have read...I was able to find a great WC in the Bahamas and saved a lot of money. Also, if you are looking for a good travel agent, checkout Liberty Travel, I got a great rate for my guest for a weekend cruise. They also give you cabin credits to use on board the ship for you guest! Also if you get a group rate for you guest early enough, they can pay through a period of time vs. paying everything at once. I was able to give my guest up to six months to pay for the cruise. Good Luck! Ceci
  14. Hi everyone! I am a cruise bride sailing on NCL the weekend of Oct. 16 through Oct. 19! We are going to get married on Oct. 17, 2009 at Nassau, Bahamas and thanks to all of the great information on BDW I will not be booking my wedding through "The Wedding Experience". Also I want to thank Ashley for highlighting the fact of obtaining a passport card vs. a passport! Thanks! This option is going to help out my guest! So far I have secured a very good rate through Liberty Travel for my guest, which I highly recommend you touch bases with a travel agent because they will give you a better group rate than if you go directly with cruise line. I look forward to sharing information with everyone in the coming months….Ceci
  15. Hi everyone! My name is Ceci and I am currently planning my destination wedding on NCL. I plan to wed on a shore side wedding on Oct. 17th, 2009 in Nassau Bahamas. I will be sailing on a weekend cruise with my family and friends on NCL Sky the weekend of Oct. 16 through Oct. 19! I have secured a group rate for my guest through Liberty Travel, which gave me a better rate than the cruise line. I have not confirmed my wedding with "The Wedding Experience" (TWE) yet due to some of the reviews I have read. Can anyone recommend an alternative to TWE? Please help!
