  1. Yes, I am only paying for my bridesmaids because I trust them, they are my best friends, and "I" want them there. If someone flakes out on me I'm sure they will have a good reason, and I could live with losing that much money. Only ask people you think won't flake on you. It is not worth it to lose friends over the situation. Remember they are doing this for "you".
  2. My fiance and I just ordered the exact same ones from Hanson and Ellis. I really wanted the starfish. It was amazing how easy it was to do on-line. It took us a lot less time then going to an invitation store to pick out our Save the Dates. I am so glad you like them, because I wasn't sure about the quality. They look so cute.

    Hi Folks

Welcome and congrats. There is so much great info on here.
  4. My wedding is not until August, but I am going down in a few weeks with some of my family to plan. Looks like this flu is not as bad as they thought. It just sucks that it scares all of your guests. Good luck with everything! It will all work out.
  5. That is horrible. You should still have a local party, with all your family and friends, where you get to show off your gorgeous dress. My wedding isn't until August and people are totally expressing their concerns. They won't have a vaccine for months!!! Hope everything worked out. Wishing you the best.
  6. Yes, they just did this great segment on the news. It is so much more likely you would die falling out of bed hit your head and die then it is to get this flu...Also we don't get scared when we hop into our car everyday...Have a great wedding.

    Hi All

Welcome. You'll find lots of great ideas on here.
  8. Hi. I saw a thread on here before and now I can't find it, but it gave some estimated prices for the caterers from Boca Vento. I was also interested in the menus from Restaurant De Santos. I really love that restaurant, but I know they probably have many ranges in prices. Is anyone using them? I am having the Villa handle the bar, so I am just interested in ball park prices. There was another caterer who gave their prices "Andre Ramos", but it was so inexpensive I am worried about the food. Has anyone used them either? Thanks.
  9. Yes, after problems with my WC getting back to me, I started to look around. I found Eva and Michael are very reasonable priced and have caterers from some of my favorite restaurants. So far they have gotten back to me fast and I am so much happier.
  10. I'm walking down the aisle to Desree's "Kissing You." from the Romeo and Juliet Soundtrack. And the first dance song is going to be "Your Song", but not Elton John's version (although I love it), but the Ewan Mcgregor Version. However, you ladies have some really great ideas on here there is so much to choose from.
  11. Thanks for this. I actually hired Dino Gomez. I was initially going with an extremely extremely artistic photographer who was even more expensive. But when my sister looked at the pics she didn't think the brides actually looked pretty. Dino has an artistic edge, but still he focuses on the bride looking pretty. Years ago I used to model and I know, some photographers really get caught up on lighting, etc., but don't focus on the subject!!!! I know lighting is "extremely" important, but it is good to have a combo of a beautiful photo, artistic edge, with the bride and "others" looking great also.
  12. Hi. I actually am having Dino do my wedding photography in PV. The pictures on his website are gorgeous, and his videos look great too. He also gets back to you fast and will talk to me about what I want, etc. Why did you have a so, so experience? Thanks.
  13. Edna-Thanks. 3 of those on that list are some that I have contacted. I saw a price list for Eva and Michael and it was very reasonable. I think the WC at my Villa actually works for EM-Weddings. But they are closed in the rainy season. I haven't tried Priscar Vallarta though, so thanks.
  14. Thanks--There website was nice. I am asking the reservations manager at the Villa if I can bring someone else in. I contacted Dazzling Details, and they have a response time of 48 hours. Thanks--and have a wonderful wedding.
  15. I'm getting married at the Villa Verano in Puerto Vallarta. It looks heavenly. However, from the last post, I almost put a deposit down on the Tres Vidas and Quinta Maria Cortez. They are sister villas and share the same property. They are reasonably priced. I was told by a realtor that the Verano was booked two years in advance! I was shocked so contacted them myself and they had a week opened in the off season. I also had a friend who did the Quinta Maria Cortez/Tres Vidas and it was amazing. The only problem is it is tricky to book both villas if you need them, and all three villas at the Tres Vidas at the same time--but possible if done in advance.
  16. My wedding is in four months and I really want to start planning. I have talked with some other wedding planning services, that get right back to me with information. However, the Villa I am planning this at claims their in-house coordinator is extremely great, and I will save money by using "in house". I have heard she does "high end weddings" and is extremely familiar with the Villa. I hear she is excellent. However, she has so much trouble getting back to me, so we can get started with the process. It took her weeks to finally give me her rates, then she said she'd give me an estimated invoice on Monday with pictures, and different rates. However, it is now Wednesday and no word from her. My fiance says to drop her, however I know this particular Villa is sort of particular about other people coming on their property. I am trying to be patient with her, but what if she does this after I have given her my deposit. I really want someone who knows the Villa extremely well, but she is making me a nervous bride. What do you think?
  17. My fiance actually makes games for a video game company called EA sports. There are some bad Wii games out there so be careful. What age group are you looking for? He says Carnival is okay. If it is for adults and you like the Carnival style game, you might like Boomblocks, Mario Kart, Ravin"Rabbids....However, there are a multitude of different style games-so if you are into those let me know. There is also a new Wii sports coming out later this year, so if you liked the last one--this one should be better. Oh also--Lego Indiana Jones.
  18. Welcome and congratulations. You will find some awesome tips on this site.
  19. This ring and setting looks almost exactly like mine. 2 carat brilliant cut four prong..... It's gorgeous but simple. What setting are you planning on going with.

    Hello

Congrats and good luck with all your planning:)
  21. Yes, I think that your ring is such a statement, you may just want to leave it how it is.
  22. Congrats, and welcome. There is so much great information on here!
  23. Yes, I have seen this at filipino weddings. However, they actually pinned the money on the brides dress, then you get to dance with her. I wouldn't want something pinned on my dress, the hat sounds better.
