  1. thank you ladies! i did also find it weird that communication was falling through becasue they do have a great reputation on this site! i should say the Canadian post office messed - no offense to any Canadians! everytime i emailed her she would respond in a matter of seconds. but she has been sick for the past couple of days and i guess thats where the mix up happened. i'm glad everything is worked out. i will be sleeping very well tonight and wil post pictures when i get it!
  2. i just wanted to post a update for anyone who reads this. Fortunately and unfortunately there wasa mix up with the Canadian post office. apparently they did not put enough stamps on the package and the post office decided to just leave it there until someone from bitter sweet would come looking for it!! so bitter sweet let me know about the mix up and immediately went over to UPS to send it through them. they recieved a refund from the Canadian post office. Bitter sweet assured me they always deliver final orders via UPS. and what put me more at ease is that even though i just ordered a sample - she still has me in her calendar of weddings she is doing this year! phew! that was a close call! i think i feel better now!!!
  3. i actually already requested a quote from Shavon. i spoke to her when i was shopping around for prices. she quoted me $45 per centerpiece. with all the other cost i recieved - she was actually the most expensive. this is the centerpiece i want. centerpiece.doc
  4. you look beautiful! i love how you are changing your hair for the reception.
  5. Hi ladies, a month ago i finally decided i wanted to do my centerpieces and bridal bouquet using fake flowers. i contacted several vendors and got a great price from bitter sweet wedding designs. i ordered a sample becasue i wanted to make sure i liked the flowers before i placed the order for all 16 centerpieces i needed. i ordered the sample on May 4, 2009. i still have yet to recieve the sample!! i'm so frustrated! they told me they mailed it out on May 23rd and i still do not have anything. i called twice and emailed twice to get a tracking number and find out where my order is....and nothing!!! i already paid for it and even though it was only $22 i'm afraid that with only 2 months left to my wedding, i will not find a vendor who will make the centerpieces for me. at this point i do not want to use bitter sweet wedding designs. i seriously have had a bitter sweet experience! i have been in touch with plumerias wedding and she was very nice, but was charging $15 than bitter sweet weddings. i guess at this point i'd rather pay a little more than i expected and ensure i get what i am paying for and on time!! i couldn't even sleep last night becasue i was so worried of what to do next. thank you for listening, i just needed to vent! thanks! Isaura
  6. i ordered the cameras on a Thursday and got them on Friday! they are so fast!!!
  7. you did such a great job!! i would love to use your template for the ceremony program and welcome booklet! where would i be able to find it?
  8. you did a great job! congrats! where did you get the ceremony programs from? did you do those yourself too?
  9. hi Ladies, i was serfing the net for disposable cameras to include in our OOT bags. i found a great deal on this website Disposable Cameras,Disposable Wedding Cameras,Wedding Cameras $1.49 the one's with flash with 27 exposures are $1.95! the only catch is there is a minimum order of 25. i hope this helps someone! Happy shopping!!!
  10. beautiful!! great job with all the planning.
  11. it is absolutely stunning! i think she will love it - especially since you picked it out. i would suggest that once you propose and she says yes, explain to her why you chose this ring. i think she will appreciate that you actually even became a part of this forum to ask for others' opinions! that shows that you care and truly love her becasue you want to make sure she is happy!!! (omg...tear!)
  12. i'm interested in the 2 boxes of tea lights. i'll pm you.
  13. i booked her too and her service so far is great!
  14. i think it's cute! my FI wants to have 2 cake toppers. one that we are borrowing from a friend which has the bride dragging the groom on the flower with their weddign attire. i'm fine with that. i think it speaks to our personality as a couple. the other he wants is of star wars - darth vater and princess leia i think. i don't know if i want to give into that one or where i can even find it!
  15. my Fi came up with that idea too. he wants our guests to take pictures of their trip - give the camera back to us so we can develop the pictures and put them in an album to show around at our AHR. i still don't know how i feel about that. but he hasn't come up with much and it's the 1st "creative" idea he came up with so i sort of feel like i should! lol
  16. i don't even know how to bring it up again. i don't want to get into another arguement and the pre-marital counseling i would like to do is not religious at all! but then again - where do i look for it in NY? if it's something we have to pay for out of our pocket, we def do not have any extra money for that. i think that he was a little more hesitant about it becasue the conversation came up when my sister asked me about. she's a born again Christian and she and her husband go to church very often. my FI and i are not church lovers. how do i present this idea to him again and making him understand that it has nothing to do with religion? i really think i need your help ladies!!!
  17. lol...amazing ending to what could have a tragic story!!! great story to tell your kids...when they get older of course!
  18. very cute. where did you get the table name holders?
  19. i hope this is not a repeat thread! i was wondering if you and your Fi are planning on doing pre-marital counseling. i presented the idea to my FI and he completely dismissed it! he said he doens't want to speak to a stranger about our "would be" problems. i think he connects it to religion too. he's not religious at all and really wants to stay away from that as much as he can. i respect that - but i do think it would be good if we knew ahead of time what to expect and how to easily solve problems when they arise. what did you tell your FI and how did he take this proposition?
  20. in stead of bags i am using boxes that i bought from oriental trading.com. i'm not sure what you want to put in your oot bags but there are a lot of stuff at dollar tree direct.com. you probabl still have some time to order. if you order all your things now - you can get them before you have to leave.
  21. Hi ladies, i'm looking for a vintage store in NYC to see if i can find a white dress for my AHR. any ideas?
  22. omg...your ring is gorgeous! my ring looks a little like yours. my e-ring was custom made and we are actually working with our jeweler to custom make my wedding band as well. my jeweler is actually "shaving" part of the stage on one side ot make the wedding band fit in nicely. i think you should definetly get your ring custom made especially since you like the idea of having both rings on the same finger. you don't need anything extravagant - something very simple to compliment it. hope that helps! 23. starandjay - thanks for answering my questions! i really do want to try to keep everything in the same place. my receptions at the steakhouse - i don't know if we will have that option. i think we can do without the DJ though. we are going to have to make a playlist for him anyway because both of our families are Spanish and they are def not going to have the music that our family dances to. i think the restaurant will be small enough where we can have an IPod speaker and player. i may have to do the bartender though. thanks for your input!
  24. it depends on what exactly you want. for us it's just a welcome back home party. so we are treating it as such. if you are doing a reception - then you should plan it out a little bit more traditional. like a wedding reception. but all this depends on what you and your FI want. there are many people on here that are doing a BBQ and other who are doing a full on wedding reception.
