  1. Don't think I have seen reviews, but I have a friend who's parents have stayed at the resort. They raved about it being very nice and classy. I haven't had trouble getting responses from Charline. The longest it's taken is 2-3 days to get questions answered. Good Luck!
  2. Ok, you've done me in! I made an appointment to go try on his dresses while I visit my Dad next week. I'll be sure to take a couple of pictures!
  3. I worked as a makeup artist in college and have done at least 40 to 50 weddings in my day. Seeing as this is a destination wedding forum, I'll assume most of us will be in a warm humid climate. So, my big thing is to use a very light moisturizer don't use a moisturizer or foundation that is humectant. Humectants pull moisture into the skin, and you could get dewy really fast on a humid day. Just use a light moisturizer even something with a little silicone. You can mix your moisturizer with concealer to even out skin tone and any imperfections. (thin layer is better than thick) I like to buff powder foundation lightly into that on top with a large blush brush. Go light, you shouldn't need much. You can blot with a kleenex to remove access. Some think this looks stark, and it does cause you have no shape to you face. Once you add bronzer and blush it is really very pretty. I worked for a number of different companies and MAC Select Cover Up Concealer and Studio Fix or Mineralize are by far my favorites, they are beautiful and cost effective. Not to mention you can go into the store and have them show you how. As for bronzer my favorite is CK Calvin Klein, they have it at Sephora. With whatever you go with, blot away excess sweat and makeup before you add more during touch ups. This will keep you from a heavy face at the end of the night.
  4. Sounds like it might be a match! I love the dress it looked great on a real girl, too! I'm going to call and make an appointment to try on a couple of his gowns here in Dallas. If I fall in love. I have a year to stalk the pre-owned sited to find a more affordable way to make it happen.
  5. Don't know what size you need, but I found it on preownedweddingdresses.com Used Matthew Christopher Wedding Dress Imagine, Size 10 It's an amazing dress....I'm now glued to the site! LOL, they are out of my price range but I'd be willing to try a dress second hand, especially if it's that amazing! Good Luck!
  6. I think she was out of the office on vacation for a week or so but has returned now. It seems like she works until about 7 CST, so my emails usually come between 6 and 7. I've gotten quick return around then, it might be a good time to try and call. thanks I hope that helps Tauri
  7. I made the decision to transition to natural about 3 months before I got engaged. To my surprise, my hair has grown about .5 of an inch every month. I've got braids right now and will do a big chop and cut off all the relaxer in mid June. If everything goes well, I should have about 9 - 11 inches of natural hair. My texture falls in that "good hair" category, but I'm still nervous. As it stands, I'm hoping to do a curly updo with a flower. If my hair is awful, I guess I could spend the day in my veil! LOL
  8. Would you mind passing along the pricing you recieved? I'm considering the resort and haven't gotten a response on my RFP. thanks! [email protected]
  9. I have a date at the Riu Tropical Bay, but came across the Hilton Rose Hall and fell in love with it. I sent a RFP but haven't received any info back yet. Any pricing you can send me would be really appreciated. [email protected] I think there are a number of choices at this resort, so I'm hoping I can make it work. I'm expecting 75 - 100 people. The pictures are so great my Dad has committed to pitching in some $. YIPPIE!

Just a thought! Good luck with your planning, these threads will save your life Oh, good call! Then I'll start the search for a TA! I've got a couple of places that I like so far, but I think a TA will help me cut through the clutter. great suggestions, Thanks!
  11. I'm looking at April 2010, where is the big thing now! I've been engaged a couple of weeks and overwhelmed isn't descriptive enough! I'm also not sure if I should pick and then find a TA or Wedding Coordinator? who knows, either way it will all work out!
  12. Hi! I just got engaged a couple weeks ago! We've established out budget, now it's off to the races with planning! I'm expecting a group of 50-70, any suggestions of resorts? I would like to stick to an all-inclusive. It has to be family friendly, cost effective (i'd like to stay under 1k per person for 4day/3 nights accommodations) and I'd like Caribbean over Mexico. Any suggestions are so welcome! I hope I'm not looking for too much! I'm happy I found this forum, it's been so helpful so far! thanks! T
