  1. Hi All, I have some linens and napkin rings left over from our wedding. We have 40 purple satin chair bows - 6'' wide x 106'' long Asking $20 + cost of shipping We have 11 (sorry for the odd number) purple taffeta crinkle table runners - 12'' x 108'' Asking $20 + cost of shipping Finally we have 46 willow napkin rings - acrylic - appear metallic. I found the colour of this to have some gold undertones. Asking $30 + shipping for these. If you want the sashes and the runners i'll sell together for $35 plus shipping. If you want everything i'll sell for $50 plus cost of shipping. PICK UP'S GLADLY WELCOMED!!! PM me if you're interested!!!
  2. Scratch the cleaning with a deposit....i'm getting it professionally cleaned next week!!! (That was crazy talk, lol) I will still supply a receipt for the cleaning to ship with the dress.
  3. My colours were purple and lime too...like my monogram. I have 40 satin purple chair bows and I believe, sorry I have to recount 12 long crinkle taffeta (I think it's called) table runners. Great for decorating as well!!! Here are some pics: Sorry I don't have a better pic of the table runners. If you are interested I can take some new pics for you. I am willing to sell it all for $50 CAD + the cost of shipping.
  4. I have about 40 (I think)...sorry i'll have to recount to be sure, sage green napkin rings. I was going to list for $25 + cost of shipping (coming from CANADA). Here is what they look like (except in SAGE GREEN): The company I originally bought from doesn't carry the sage anymore or else I would've put up the actual picture. If you're interested i'll take some pics to email you.
  5. Hi Ladies, I'm putting my Maggie Sottero Eleanor up for sale. It's a size 4 petite...I am 5'2 and I had it altered to fit with a 1 1/2 inch heel. It is all lace with beading throughout the entire dress. I also had cups sewn in but they can easily be moved or removed. Oh and I had a bustle set up so the back hangs on an angle to match the angle of the dress. The colour is diamond white. This dress is incredibly unique...And mega sparkly!!! It looks fantastic on the beach. I am asking $950 CAD (obo) + the cost of shipping for this. (I will have it professionally cleaned and supply a receipt for this once a deposit has been made) MaggieSottero.com - Eleanor I have more images of this...please reply if you would like to see some more.
  6. I almost forgot: OUR HONEYMOON Casa Amorita (Puerto Vallarta) The Casa Amorita is owned by a lovely woman named Rita. This year she won the tenth spot for best Best and Breakfast in the Caribbean and Mexico on Trip Advisor. Her location is just a few blocks up from the Malecon. We could walk everywhere, which was quite nice! The service she and her staff provide is second to none, hence the top rating. Also her gourmet breakfasts are fantastic! If you are looking for a great, decent priced spot for your honeymoon I strongly suggest you go here!!! He has a corner unit in a building there. He did an amazing job...honestly worth every penny!!!
  8. Okay i've finally done the review....it felt like it took a million years, lol. Here is the link to it: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...5/#post1212000
  9. Hi All, Well it's been over a month since our amazing wedding in Bucerias and I figured it's time to share our experience with you. I'll break it down into sections however you will find that I do not have all the vendor names as these were booked through our coordinator Karen Blair. THE RESORT THE ROYAL DECAMERON Our group was booked at the Royal Decameron and I must say the resort overall was great! It was cost friendly for our guests and was quite nice overall. The food was half decent for resort food and the service was phenomenal. We watched a few weddings at the Decameron and they were quite nice...although we were married off the resort and IMO it was 100 times better for us. The only issue we had was the fact that the resort was overbooked. We were constantly asked if we would switch resorts, which would mean moving 1/2 hour south to PV which was out of the question. Luckily none of our guests who booked outside the group were bumped, however please ensure you forewarn your guests to book with the group if possible and if they don't to at least get the Decameron to put a note on their booking with the group reference number. It will save many headaches in the long run! THE COORDINATOR KAREN BLAIR - OWNER OF KAREN'S PLACE Karen is the owner of the restaurant/location we had our wedding. She was an unbelievable coordinator. Our wedding was as important to her as it was to us. Anything she could do to make us happy she did (so long as it was possible). I will warn you that she does get busy with weddings so if you would like to book her I would do it as early as possible. One example of something she did to make our day extra special was that she went out and bought extra fabric in our colours, (since we were bringing our own) on her own dime so that we would have extra for decorating. Almost all of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and we owe it all to our coordinator Karen. (If you would like to contact her, here is her website: www.karensplacebucerias.com and her email is [email protected]) I apologize as the next part of my review might be a bit out of order. THE CEREMONY KAREN'S PLACE The ceremony was gorgeous. With the bamboo alter and sheer it was so romantic. We had our wedding at sunset and the pictures were stunning to say the least. We loved everything about it!!! There were some amazing moments, as well as some funny moments from the ceremony that I will get to next. LIVE CLASSICAL GUITAR RIGOBERTO MORA Rigoberto is Karen's husband and he is also one of the best classical guitarists in the area. He plays the ten string guitar and let me tell you it was worth every penny and then some to have him play. He played while our guests arrived, while the ladies and myself walked down the aisle, and also through the dinner. Karen actually came up to me near the end of dinner, which ran late, and asked if he could stop playing since his fingers were cramping. I was like "Are you kidding me? I can't believe he has been playing this long." He played Ava Maria while I walked down the aisle and it was so gorgeous. Please if you decide to book at Karen's, spend the money on Rigoberto!!! HAIR/MAKEUP FERNANDO Fernando's shop (I can't remember the name) just opened and is about 2 blocks down Las Cardenas from the Royal Decameron. He and his staff did an amazing job on our hair and makeup! I actually liked it even more than my hair trial at home. Karen looks after all the bookings so she found and booked us Fernando as well as all the other amazing vendors we had for our wedding COMMISSIONER LUZ DEGRACIA Luz Degracia was definitely entertaining. It was not a typical ceremony that's for sure! A bit more catholic at times with talk of the soul and then also talk about fried chicken and french fries, lol. If you would prefer a more typical ceremony you may want to book someone else. Luz may not be everyone's style but we enjoyed her and loved that none of our guests had ever been to a ceremony quite like ours! THE RECEPTION KAREN'S PLACE The reception setup was gorgeous. I brought most of the things for the table settings from home and it was set up perfectly. I loved that Rigoberto continued to play through dinner. He was so great at phasing out for speeches which took place between courses. FOOD The food was incredible!!! I kid you not, we have never had better Filet Mignon in our life, and we're from Alberta so we know good beef. From the appetizers to the main course the food was truly 1st class. Again we got many comments from our guests that they had never been to a wedding with such delicious food. Although you pay per plate as you wouldn't have to do at a resort, it is very reasonable and totally worth it when your guests have comments like that! With dinner we actually did a choice menu, We had Filet Mignon, Mahi Mahi and also Rosemary Chicken. Along with a vegetarian option and Celiac modifications. We could've done a buffet but are so glad we went with plated service in the end. We did not do dessert since we wanted our cake to be dessert. We ordered a 3 tier chocolate cheesecake with a fudge brownie base, my DH loves cheesecake! Karen knew a local baker who made it for only $3 a person which is ridiculous because there was so much cake left over. As my DH is a cheesecake snob he has said this was the best cheesecake he's ever ate in his life. It's that good....and I have to stop talking about it cause my mouth is watering, lol. FIRST DANCE CHOREOGRAPHED TANGO - DALE at DANCENERGY, CALGARY, AB This was so much fun!!! We took group lessons and then private lessons at Dancenergy in Calgary, AB DancEnergy Dance Lessons, Wedding Dance Lessons, Ballroom Dance Lessons in Calgary Dale did an amazing job choreographing our routine and it was a total show stopper. If you have time to take some lessons and your FI is willing, you totally should. We kept it a surprise from all of our guests and they absolutely loved it!!! Other things I would like to comment on were: The Flowers: Gorgeous...Karen booked through a local florist in Bucerias The DJ: There wasn't a tonne of time at the end of dinner and I wish we had given him specific instructions on what kind of music to play. He did a pretty good job though and our guests still had a blast Our Photographer: Was a friend of the family from Southern Ontario THE SUNSET: Speaks for itself TTD PHOTOS - Best place to go is along the coast in Sayulita. As you can see this is quite the novel, lol. If you would like detail on anything else please don't hesitate to message me.

I will try to get to it very soon! In the meantime I will say this, a wedding at Karen's compared to the resort was like night and day. We watched some while we were there and they were ok but yes the intimacy wasn't there...It cost a little bit more to go through Karen but it was so amazing I wouldn't change it for the world! Hopefully I can get to the review in the next couple of weeks!!!

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts when you get the time. Where did your guests stay and who did you use for photography and music? Thanks and congratulations! Thanks, the wedding was so amazing. My mom and dad are still in Bucerias and they said it was the talk of the town. Our guests stayed at the Royal Decameron. It was great there...everyone really had a great time. As far as photography we flew a guy we knew from home out. As far as music we had Rigoberto (Karen's husband) play for our ceremony and dinner, it was so beautiful! You should book him if you can!!! I am going to write a big review and post it on here with some pics in the next couple of weeks. I can't say enough about Karen, she was absolutely wonderful. Our guests commented that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to, and they weren't just being nice Anyhow great choice to go with Karen! You will have a beautiful wedding!!!
  12. So we're in the process of packing, yes we leave in 3 days , and wondering what is the item you tend to forget to pack and wish you would've remembered? We're going for 2 weeks and i'm starting to get a little panicky about being forgettful due to our tardy packing Send your tips/advice... Details on items you packed and didn't need would also be greatly appreciated!!!
  13. If anyone is staying in Nuevo Vallarta or Bucerias, there is a bar in Bucerias called the Twisted Rose that has live salsa and cuban music 6 days a week. Here's the link to their site: The Twisted Rose Bucerias | Bar | Grill | Live Music | Cuban Salsa | Burgers

  16. Okay...here's an idea What if I get the lap dance? It's thinking outside the box but since the boys expect one, and he's already had one, let's say it's my turn... The only thing i'm questioning is that sometimes the women don't want to give one to another woman. It might be different in Mexico though. I'm just trying to come up with a solution that will keep everyone happy.
  17. Hey BDW, So my FI went away with the guys this weekend. I was assured it wasn't his bachelor party, so you can imagine my surprise when my FI got home and told me they decided to celebrate anyhow and he got a lap dance. It totally caught me off guard and I was instantly upset. It hurt not knowing, it hurts having a half naked woman in my sexual space, and it also hurts that he was away from home in a hotel. I thought I was ready for this, knowing this is what happens at bachelor parties, but not this way. I would've never agreed to let him have it and not come home to me. Plus another little tid bit is when he drinks, he has no control and tends to black out parts of the evening. Now you can imagine why my imagination is running wild. So unfortunately that's not the end of it. He is going out with another group of guys in Mexico before our wedding. Which means, likely another lap dance. Once he realized how upset it made me he said if I don't want him to get another one then he won't. It's put me in a tough place, of course I want to say no, but should I? Is it really fair for him to have two lap dances? IMO one is more than enough. Please help!!! I really need to know how to deal with this situation. My Bachelorette party (yes I only get 1) is the same night and I know I won't have any fun if i'm stressing about this.
  18. I too am happy Russell won!!! I think he is the only contestant this past season that had the kind of personality to draw you in. I was totally going to stop watching with no regrets if he was voted off. OH and did anyone notice this season was all about tricks and lifts? It was more about the power moves than it was about the dancing. (Ballroom in particular) After the 4th major lift i'd lose excitement - too much of a good thing can be bad IMO. Maybe it was just me, maybe it was that they had the hip hop guys to accomodate. Hopefully next season is better...I miss Mia Michaels
  19. Those are great pics!!! Love the ones in the field with the hay!

So start shopping and choosing and purchasing. Second if you are making your STD and invites. I would def start doing so. They take a while and they are handcrafted. Also I got our STDs about 10 months before our wedding to give people enough time to book and start planning their finances etc. That is def something you want to get out quickly. I would send your invites out in June/July time. Favors and programs you can do next summer. Id say first things first dress and STD's. DEF! I agree completely...DRESS and STD's. Then you can lay low for a little while. No need for a paperbag Chica
  21. Maybe...that's the weekend before we leave so it may be hectic for me but i'll definitely try!

  23. Oh geez...well I work from home and I am usually up earlier than my FI who works shift work and has his days off. He will get up pour himself the most gigantic bowl of cereal and eat in the chair directly beside mine. I'm trying to concentrate and all I can hear is "Crush, smack, slurp, crunch, smack, slurp". No conversation...just sound effects. I wish he had a mute button

I think once you have your marriage license (on my to-do list as well) you just have to find your marriage commissioner and book an appt. I think they give you a certificate right away and if you change your name you need to bring that with you to your destination just in case there's an issue with your passport. Still i'm not 100% on this. Did anyone else who did this get a certificate right away or did you have to wait? Also is it just a temporary certificate and then you have to get a real one from the registries office? A timeline on this would be helpful...
