  1. Hi SG1307! I'm from Vancouver too and am getting married at the Colonial next July! July 8th 2010! For your hair, did you have a hairdresser here do something for you and then took a photo of it along? For your make-up, did they use their products or did you bring along the make-up you wanted them to use? I saw your pics, I LOVE the guys in their suits My FI refuses to wear one because he thinks he'll melt but I want to show him how good your guys looked and maybe he'll change his mind You looked amazing!! How did your make-up last all day in the heat? I want to make sure that I'm not super shiny, you know? Thanks!
  2. My left ring finger is half a size smaller!! So it wouldn't be too bad just to keep the e-ring on and then flip them after the ceremony, would it? Hopefully the officiant doesn't make an issue of it. Plus, were any of your hands sweaty and puffy, I'm worried I wouldn't get it off! lol Or if I managed to pull it off it'd go flying into the sand! lol
  3. I second the Bikram yoga. It has REALLY toned up my arms midsection. You sweat all your stress away!
  4. This is too funny:) Me: -He leans in too far towards the mirror while shaving and gets all his hair on the sink edges! Yuck! -He sets his alarm WAY too early and presses snooze every 7 min for about an hour! -He LOVES sushi, he could eat it every time we go out. I love it too, but not ALL the time! Him: -I also always loose my keys and cell phone. Oh and my sunglasses on sunny days go missing too, usually after he's set the alarm for the house and I have to go rushing around to try and find them! -I often don't notice that I took the last roll of toilet paper. Ooops Sometimes it's funny if I'm home to help him out but I do hear about it if I wasn't home... lol -I ALWAYS go over on my cell phone minutes.
  5. Oh and I called Barcelo directly using Skype and got through to the coordinators both times! I have read everywhere about Barcelo coordinators being difficult to get a hold of via email... So maybe make a list of your questions and call!
  6. Hi Beth, We have 3 teachers coming too! We have rates already. It's a bit pricey as we are out of Vancouver Canada. It's about $1900 per person and the kids don't get too good of a rate... But we only have two young kids coming (my nieces). We have almost 30 people booked already! Does anyone know what to do next? Do I start talking to the coordinator there about what we want to do? I do however want to wait until I have a more accurate number of guests before I pick my package. I'm in University to become an elementary school French teacher! We should rename this thread 'teachers getting hitched!' Barbara
  7. Hi BethBride, We were getting married on July 1st but since my FI is a teacher and school isn't out until the 30th next year we had to bump it by a week. We are now getting married on July 8th 2010 So now that we have our date reserved, what do we do? Have any of you started talking to the resort about wedding details? Barbara
  8. Hi Maegan, We were going to get married July 1st at 6pm at the Colonial but we had to bump it by a week My FI is a teacher and next year school is out on the 30th! We thought it would be out on the 25th so we had to rebook everything for the following week. So now our wedding date is July 8th at 5pm Have you contacted the resort to put a 'hold' on your date yet? It's super easy. I used skype and called. The number is: 0011 5298 4875 1500 ext:5755
  9. I am! We just had out date put on hold on Tuesday Our wedding date it July 1st 2010
  10. I loved your photos Dreamstbride! We are getting married at the Barcelo Colonial. Just wondering how many people you had come with you to Mexico? I'm having a hard time deciding on a package. What package did you decide on? Barbara
  11. Hi ladies! My FI have decided on the Barcelo Maya Colonial for July 2010 Now I'm confused about which packages to pick!? Smartinez: I read that you chose the Sea Breeze Package? From what I've read the Sea Breeze doesn't allow you to have your reception outside, only the Under the Stars does... I want to be outside or at the grill like you did, Under the stars is $66 per person above 10 ppl and Sea Breeze is $20 per person above 20ppl... I think the Sea Breeze is a more affordable option, I just don't think I'd want to be in a banquet room... Please help! Do you have any photos of your wedding yet? I'd LOVE to see them Thanks so much! Barbara
  12. We have this with one of my FI aunts. She is recently divorced and is buying out the house from her ex. We are so concerned that she may not be able to come that we want to help her out somehow. Meeting her halfway might be a good idea for us too.
  13. Hi there! I'm June/July 2010! I'm just starting to decide on resorts, once that's done Save the Dates?! We want ppl to have plenty of time to save up

    Hi

I am very new here too and am overwhelmed with the amount of information! In a good way It's sooo helpful to read, especially when you find a resort you are researching, you can find brides who are actually booked there. The best part is when brides get back they post reviews and their wedding photos and it helps you imagine what your wedding will be like! Welcome!
  15. Hi everyone! My FI and I are interested in the Azul Sensatori. I've read ALL the posts and have come across so many great things, but also came across many concerns. I've come to a conclusion, seems to me that things are improving and getting better everyday. It's nice to hear from brides who have come home from their weddings and had wonderful wedding experiences. I love how everyone is helping each other out, this is the best forum ever! I have a question: Did anyone one get the Silver package? From what I found there is a photographer included, has anyone used this photographer? How did the photos turn out? We're from Vancouver and want to get married June 2010 but have no idea what kind of price to expect for our guests to stay for a week. Does anyone near BC have a figure they can pass my way? Thanks so much! I still haven't figured out how to set up a counter and other cute things you all have
  16. I love it! That's something that I'll be looking for, haven't gone out looking yet but that's the style I like too
  17. Shelly, Thanks for the link to the photos! I've looked on TripAdvisor before, it's nice to see anything and everything. I'm super excited to make my final decisions but it's so far away! How far ahead did you send out your invitations? And how do you word it when you don't know which resort you're going to yet? Guess we'll just have to decide on one and maybe send out a Save the Date invitation with a tentative date/week
  18. I can't wait to hear about your wedding too! I'm hoping to have my wedding here too but not until June 2010 Keep us posted we'd love the feedback!
  19. Oh wow thanks! My email is [email protected] I really love this resorts layout and that it's small enough that you won't have to go far to run into your family and friends I heard about other weddings at larger resorts where they had to call each others rooms or cellphones to coordinate meeting up with each other... Talk to you soon
  20. Welcome! I'm new here too and am planning a July 2010 wedding in the Mayan Riviera and hopefully this site will help me do this! Happy Planning!
  21. Thanks everyone!! So far I don't have anything planned yet as Jul 2010 is too far away for Travel Agents to get me any information, so I'll just keep up with my research!
  22. Hello everyone. I'm new here I am also interested in getting married at Ocean Turquesa, could somebody also send me the wedding packages that they offer?? I've emailed the resort but I'm not too sure that I had the right contacts. How's all the planning going so far?? Thanks!
