  1. Michp - were you able to get through to Rosa? I sent an e-mail (in Spanish) a few days ago and haven't gotten a response. It was a tad rusty but I'm sure it got the point across. )
  2. Hey - I'm from Michigan too! Lucky you - I haven't been to Mexico AT ALL and even though I was toying around with several areas (Key West, DR, Bahamas, USVI, Mexico) we decided Mexico was the best fit for us. I guess it depends on what you want to do. I've heard Cabo is BEAUTIFUL and so is Puerto Vallarta.
  3. Hi SamluvsNick, Don't let ANYONE tell you you don't have time. My sister had just over 3 months to plan her wedding (and I did more planning and stressing than she did!). She got her dress just fine and everything. Just remember, no matter what there are going to be snags, but everything will work out, no worries!

    Congrats Shai and welcome!
  5. They do look like they do awesome work and seem really nice, I think you made a good choice. )
  6. Thanks bellalucefoto! I do have that setup but I guess I will have to check with the chapel first to see if we can even do something like that.
  7. Congrats, Sarice. Isn't this forum GREAT?! I came across it by accident doing a Google search for a Playa del Carmen chapel. Happy Planning!

Congrats! I believe Sandals is there too and has wedding pkgs.
  9. Hola Samantha and Congrats! Have you checked into their website? I think it's Dreams Resorts & Spas: Unlimited Luxury. This forum is awesome too. Someone will have good input for you - no worries!
  10. Congrats Marissa! You'll find a wealth of helpful info on this site!
  11. Speaking of frugal.........anyone have any advice on music? Using CD's in the church, for example? It just seems like an awful lot of $$$ for a musician/group just to play for less than an hour! I'm hoping to get info outside of using a WC. Thanks!
  12. Hello all, Has anyone used recorded music, or is planning to, for their church/chapel ceremony? I haven't seen any postings on anything of this nature. Is it a crazy idea? Do I HAVE to have a live person play?? Planning our wedding for Capilla Nuestra Senora del Carmen if that helps. Gracias!

    Hiya!

Hola Jamie and Felicitaciones (Congrats!). We haven't set a date either but it'll also be 2010 (hopefully early part) and probably in Playa - though I was looking at Vallarta and Cabo, also! Happy Planning!
  14. Congrats, Dennita! If you need info on a few WC's there let me know - I did research for St. Lucia as well as other places before deciding Mexico was the best fit for us. Happy Planning!

  16. Thanks for the heads-up! We aren't going the AI route anymore but we were looking at Aventura Palace solely for the adults-only aspect - so I can see it being disappointing for some, but I guess there are perks as well in that everyone you want can attend your wedding.
  17. BeautifulBridetoBe - thanks for the great post! I am all about saving money without looking like you did! And I LOVE Vistaprint and thinking outside the box! It is definitely possible to do a wedding for $10,000 or less!
  18. Yes, weather in Michigan sux right now, too! BUT, in spite of the freezing cold and ridiculous snow and treacherous roads, my FH and I have been pretty good with working out every other day, working different muscle groups and doing cardio, along with 1 hour on the elliptical once a week!
  19. Sorry for the double-post - I think this site need another server to support all the traffic! Here's a link I just found for free (resort) weddings: Free Wedding - Our coordinators can provide a free wedding package at hotel locations in Mexico Free weddings
  20. Hola Tara - congrats and good for you! It really IS about the 2 of you, when it comes down to it. I have enough drama in my own family and it's one of the reasons we are pretty much doing the same. Are you set on Dreams? I can't remember if they have pkgs. but I know Aventura Palace (Palace Resorts) has a free pkg and I believe they are in the same vicinity. There's plenty more info from other posts but let me know if I can be of any help!

  22. Congrats and Welcome, Mandy! You sound almost done but if you need any info on Key West wedding stuff let me know. I did quite a bit of research before I decided to stick with Mexico. Best Wishes!
  23. I know this thread is a bit old, but I just found this site and maybe it'll help others like myself looking for musicians! Wedding Directory - Find A Musician - StrayWeddings.com - Destination Weddings in Mexico
  24. Thanks - I've actually already looked into them. I'm beginning to think the only way to get live music in PDC is through a WC, not independently? Somebody please let me know if I'm wrong. I can barely find contact info for musicians and I've been Googling everything I can think of. I may have to just contact Ajua for the music part!
  25. I received a quote yesterday for $2000 for ALL-DAY coverage, incl. 2 photographers, 800 images on DVD, enhancements, slideshow DVD. They seem really nice. And reasonably priced for what beautiful work! On their site they do mention possible "site fees" (for resorts, I guess, if you bring outside photogs in), but that's it.
