  1. Hello all, I've done a search here and haven't come up with anything. I know she's posted on here before.......I was referred to her as an outside WC during communication with Acanto Hotels in PDC. Playa Del Carmen Weddings, Weddings in Playa Del Carmen & Riviera Maya We are keeping our options open now with possibly just having a beach non-denom. wedding as opposed to a Catholic wedding - but, it's a year away so it's all TBD at this point. Any feedback from brides/grooms would be appreciated! Gracias!

Thanks a ton! Hi everybody, She does seem really nice via e-mail and her prices are reasonable for the kind of photography she does. You might also want to look up the post by superez - she used Claudia last year and her pictures are amazing!
  3. Tripadvisor is a great site to help you estimate your costs, and I'm sure brides here will offer great input. We are not doing site visits either so we're relying solely on the internet and great reviews from this site!
  4. I know - it can be pretty overwhelming trying to find just the right place. On the beach? Off the beach? Besides Tripadvisor, here are a few sites I find helpful: Http://intheroo.com - interactive map hotels playa del Carmen online reservations for hotels tours transportation Cancun hotels & Riviera Maya hotels : From luxury hotels to budget lodging - another interactive map

My fiance's mother spoke with one of the church secretaries and somehow got us moved to the 6:30 mass. Not sure how- bc I didn't even know there was a 6:30 mass! However, with much begging, and a good donation, they agreed to do the wedding ceremony part of the Mass in English, but the rest of the Mass will be in Spanish. The Church is absolutely gorgeous- if it weren't so beautiful I would go elsewhere because they are very confusing!!! I wish I could offer more help, but I left there just as confused as when I went. However, I do know for certain that the 10am Mass is in English. Let me know if you have any other questions and hopefully I can be of more help. I totally fell in love with Puerto Vallarta- simply beautiful! I could seriously pack up my existence and move right on down!! Thanks for your update! I'm glad things are working out. We haven't booked anything yet but I think we're about 98% sure we're going with Playa del Carmen. I've been researching PDC, PV and Cabo and PDC just seems to be best within our price range. We have to pay for this ourselves and are saving like mad on top of paying off credit card debt (mine - bad habits from the past), but we don't want to scrimp too much as this is our wedding trip, after all! Keep us all posted on your planning!

  7. Congrats! Beautiful dress - I'm adding it to my "Dresses" list!
  8. Congrats and Happy Planning, Jennifer! We are planning on getting married in PDC early 2010. This is a great forum for ideas and support!
  9. Hola brides, I'm resurrecting this post in the hopes of getting some feedback. Especially if anyone has worked with either one of these priests (Father Jorge Castaneda or the other one), their experience(s), and what they charged. I recently sent an e-mail in Spanish to the chapel, and someone finally replied today (in Spanish). My Espanol is a bit rusty, but my understanding is it's about $300 US for just the chapel fee for the Capilla Nuestra Senora del Carmen - not including the priest fee or to have the wedding conducted in English. I'm trying to plan this all without hiring a WC if at all possible, because we are just having a small ceremony and MAY have our parents along and possibly a few other family members. So if anyone could provide info on either of these English-speaking priests, that would be great!

  11. Wow - what crappy service. I would be pissed, too! I guess this is one of those cases where it is buyer beware. Not that I'm endorsing Bridalonlinestore or anything, but they do have a case study about dresses from China that is quite an eye-opener. Yes, many clothes are made overseas, but there's a HUGE difference between an everyday t-shirt, and a dress you're going to wear on a very special day. Guess I'll have to keep saving!
  12. Hi Tracey - welcome and congrats! Do you have any place in mind? I was all over the map with ideas - but I think we're about 99% sure it'll be Mexico.
  13. Welcome and congrats! Well that's comforting - since I don't have set dates either! I've been researching Cabo, Puerto Vallarta and Playa del Carmen - and it'll be in 2010.
