Panda...I would take your own centerpieces and candles! In October, the price for 1 vase of flowers was $75 so I'm sure that price has went up as well. Speaking of prices, what did management say about the drastic price increases?

I ordered my OOT bags from them several months ago. I got the beach totes in several diffferent prints. They are very nice, large, & durable. The bottoms are lined. For $5, they are a bargain! Watch the shipping, 1 bag or item can make a $12 price difference in shipping costs.

I saw the photos from the resorts first wedding when we did a site visit and was not impressed at all. They need to realize this is an important event in our lives instead of worrying about more revenue. Has anyone been offered an incentive for having their wedding at the GP? We are all filling up their rooms with multiple guests, yet besides affordable accommodations we are paying top dollar for each and every part of our venue!

Hilaryerin Maybe this is a new policy. I am bringing my own photographer for my May wedding. I have had multiple conversations with Charmaine and Jascynthia about this and was never told I could not bring my own. I've already paid a large deposit and signed a contract with her so I WILL be bringing her. In addition she is a good friend of mine and would be coming anyhow so I don't know if that matters. As for the band, I never inquired. Jalong How was the DJ? Did you create a playlist? Did he introduce bride, groom, MOB, FOB, etc? I'm still trying to decide on entertainment. Any suggestions?

Congrats, Negril by far has the most beautiful beaches. You will be highly disappointed with MB or Ocho Rios if the beach is your priority.

Congrats on choosing a destination wedding! Absolutely, check the resort out for yourself and meet with the wedding coordinator before you do anything else!

Hello Martee I bet you are getting excited and stressed at the same time. Doesn't that piss you off about the steel drum band. In fact, I was originally quoted $150/hr which I have(hard copy) from their original website back in August. So in 5 months the price has increased 3-4X. This is BS. I am still working on getting the GM email address to discuss these drastic price changes but haven't had any luck. PRICE GOUGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! I'm sure everything will be beautiful regardless , its a matter of principle now! Do you know anything definite about the chair covers?

I was told if you with the tropical package you must choose one entree, appetizer, etc. However, if you go with the Caribbean package, you get a choice of 3 special menus which you can mix and match up to 2 items per course as long as they know ahead of time. These are the menus that include the lobster, veal, lamb, salmon. I didn't see any type of beef on these menus, but that might be an option. Of course, if there is a guest with special diet they will accommodate. I am writing Jascythia today to verify the menu options for the carribean package because I am finally sending out the invites!! So I will let you know if this has changed........ANY VERIFICATION ON THE CHAIR COVERS?

This is great news about the chair covers if its true. I was told twice of the extra charge(once $10 per chair & then $12). Price gets kind of steep when you have 50+ guests attending. If anyone can verify, it would be great.

A great photographer in Savannah is Donna Von Bruening. She lives about 10 minutes away from Tybee. She is a good friend of ours and we are flying her to Jamaica for our wedding. Excellent pictures but on the pricier side, although you wouldn't have to pay for travel. You get what you pay for!!! If your interested book early. She typically books up a year in advance. Hello GP Brides I can't seem to find the updated price lists and don't want to post the ones I have because everything else has doubled to tripled in price since I was first quoted in July. We saw the pics from the very first wedding at the GP Jamaica when we did a site visit. I must say I was not impressed, but that is my opinion. We have decided to bring our own photographer, it is an extra cost however well worth it. I guess it depends on how important the pics are to you and if you want some peace of mind. On another note......Does anyone know if they are giving courtesy upgrades to the honeymoon suites for the bride & groom How did everyone book their stay?

Hello & Congrats!! Things to keep in mind to get you started ...all inclusive or not for Caribbean locations ...how many guests & their financial situation unless you are fortunate enough to pay for their travels ...pick a location you dreamed of and always do a site visit

Being that I sent a wedding contract in July via certified mail & it still hasn't arrived at the GP Jamaica, I WOULD NOT send anything ahead of time Even worse, the postal service can't even locate it & its supposed to be the most secure way to send items!

LIL miss frog Tybee will be perfect and very reasonably priced!! I'm a transplant from Pittsburgh, but moved to savannah 4 years ago. In fact, I live on Wilmington Island which neighbors Tybee. I can literally be on the beach in 7 minutes. Let me know if I can be of any help. BTW.....They are revitalizing the beach as we speak!! Loading it up with fresh piped in sand!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured it this way. We will put a bag in every room for each couple and 1 per single traveler. If they don't like them, they can trade out. If they complain about a gift, too bad!!!! They should appreciate one b/c most people forget to bring along a beach bag.

Martee, No Worries! Everything is gonna be alright! Everyone is correct. The tropical package does NOT include dinner, however, they will block off a section of one of the restaurants so you guys can have a semi-private reception. There is a time limit of 1 1/2-2hours depending on your group size.You do not have to rent out any space unless you want to have aprivate reception at the blue lagoon.The $30pp is for extra cake, champagne, & chairs(seems a little steep, but at least these package prices haven't changed unlike all the other extras). If you want chair covers, they are $8 per chair additional(INSANE). I will attempt to attach some price lists below. Also the new WC Jascynthia has been quite prompt in returning my emails as compared to Charmaine. Beware, she doesn't have all the answers yet, but then again she's only been on the job a few weeks.....The Lady Hamilton & Grand Palladium Jamaica sides are the exact same(JR suites & 1 BR suites). LH side is more central to all the restaurants/beaches/spa. There should be NO price difference b/w the 2. The adults only suites/beach/pool are on the lady hamilton side, but there are not many of them, although they are absolutely gorgeous(we made a site visit) all overlooking the water from your bed! Hi All I just ordered 40 of the beach tote bags. They are as good as your gonna get for the price. Plastic lined,easy to wipe out, superb construction, and plenty of carrying capacity. I ordered a variety of the prints. The only one I did not really care for was the one with all blue stripes(it looked kind of masculine to me). Palm trees, polka dot, geometric, hibiscus, leopard, multicolored striped all awesome. FYI--when you calculate shipping sometimes a one bag/item change will make a $12 difference so try changing an item or 2 to see where you stand. I got the last 30 bags for $17 shipping. Hey all GP Brides I found the original prices of entertainment extras. These were printed right off their website!!! 6 person reggae band $350/hr-----now $2500 for 3 hours!!!! steel drum band $300/hr-----now $500/hr jazz band $350/hr----now $600/hr I attempted to discuss these exuberant price increases with Charmaine, but she stated they were comfortable with them as they compared to those charged by other resorts. We also discussed with Charmaine having a private appetizer/drink meeting with our guests the day before our wedding. In less than 2 weeks time after meeting with her, the price went up an additional $3pp. INSANE!!! I have yet to take this up with the new WC, but plan to after she adapts to her new position. Did anyone ever find an email to the resort manager?? As for group rates.......I was told by Charmaine they were not available and they would not hold a block of rooms. However, they will attempt(key word) to place all in your party within close proximity. Sorry if this was a downer, do ya think they may be price gouging a bit?!

When we met with Charmaine, she said it would be a total of $50pp(over 8-which includes the bride & groom so actually over 6) with the Caribbean package that INCLUDES the dinner. The menus for the dinner look awesome and she stated that you can choose 2 entrees as long as they know the number of each in advance. We were quote $300 to rent out the blue lagoon, although I must say their prices seem to change quite frequently.
