  1. that's right! when we did our site visit we found those items (toothpaste, sunscreen, toothbrushes) in the bathrooms at Dreams. But we had already bought them and gave them to my coordinator to hold. Wish I'd known! we had never been to a resort that included all those things Sparkles- I agree with you, coming from the east coast and staying 5 nights is costing our guests a lot of money, we want to treat them!
  2. I believe the Ocean course at Cabo del Sol is $350 and I think Desert Course $250..but the Ocean course has breathtaking views..I read somewhere that it was ranked the no.1 course in Latin America last year. They would really enjoy it.
  3. Dreams gave us two free nights and additional nights at discounted rate. We stayed four nights. Bu only after we signed the contract. You can mention that to the coordinator at Riu and that you really have to do a site visit. Good luck! We passed by Riu and it is beautiful.
  4. check out blissweddingsmarket.com they have these really cute palm leaf bags.. I really liked a clutch bag they have for about $4.29 large size. Don't know how they look in person but I think they are very unique. You can also check out Parrot Canvas Company. I ordered canvas bags for $16.50 they are really cute. I've been buying my welcome bag items for about a year and my wedding is in October. So far I have flip flops, sunscreen, toothpaste, toothbrush (I always forget mine and have to buy one when I get to my destination) dental floss, post cards, welcome letter and I would love to include monogram towels but I'm not sure yet.
  5. Congrats Kerry! pics are beautiful..love both the ceremony and reception areas..Lighting looks amazing, and of course you're simply stunning in that dress..by Lazaro right? lol
  6. I can't believe I just noticed it too! Melissa and Gil October 3rd, 2009 Cabo Del Sol Golf Course (staying at Dreams, some at Fiesta Americana) in Cabo: Sept 30-Oct 5th Can't Wait!
  7. thanks for the review, I agree with you. Funny, when I went in March the resort was of full of seniors! Didn't you just love the rooms??
  8. I do know that Del Cabo Events changed the price of chiavary chairs from $14 to $6 each..Some of their stuff is pricey but they have a large selection so you might get a good deal on certain things..my WC said they are the best in Cabo.
  9. awww how sweet it will be to finally be alone with him Good luck and hope you have a great time!Enjoy your day!
  10. I love the brochure and everything else! Congratulations I'm sure you're wedding was spectacular !
  11. Desires is more like a lounge but it's nice enough, I actually saw a couple of after parties when we were there...even though it won't be private I'm sure they can let you decorate a bit, at least the tables if you want. They have good music and stays open until 1:30. Someone else mentioned Mandala, it's the newest nightclub in Cabo, great ambiance. Maybe you could reserve tables for some of your guests. I tried making reservations at any of the Dreams restaurants for our rehearsal dinner but they are very strict with their no reservations policy. It would be around 20 of us so I cannot just show up hoping they will sit us together..they can't guarantee it. I still don't know what Im doing for my rehearsal or my welcome dinner. Im thinking of a tequila tasting, El patio, I have to speak to Yesica to see how that goes...
  12. hey guys here's the link to the other pics, hope you like them too Kodakgallery.com: Slideshow
  13. Glad you like them! I also have some really nices ones of El Arco, lovers beach and the sealions (another trip) I can send you the link to those as well
  14. Just rentals. It depends: for example they are now renting chiavari chairs for $6 (other vendors are $14-15) They have a huge selection.
  15. yes Casino night is about $850 for set up, staff etc We did the pub crawl last month and it was fun..I think about $15 pp. From Dreams they took us to Cabo Wabo, Mandala and the Squid Roe. It's arranged by Dreams entertainment staff and they make sure they don't leave anyone behind. I think it's worth it.
  16. I believe they were charging my WC $400 to bring outside vendors.
  17. You're welcome! to be honest I wasn't crazy about the food..specially Seaside grill..but had decent meals at Portofino and Oceana. Drinks were good and strong.. try the chocolate martini at Desires..amazing! The place is very safe, they even have a guard on the beach. We went to Cabo san lucas and San Jose and walked around San Jose a lot too. Dreams has a lot of security.
  18. Don't have any pictures of weddings but I can tell you this was my favorite of all the venues we visited while in Cabo. We met 4 different fotographers and they would all get excited when we mentioned Cabo Del Sol. Unlike other places, you would have the entire venue for yourself. They include extras like chiavary chairs, fine china, hurricane lamps (at most resorts you have to pay extra for these) We met Ana, the coordinator and she was amazing. Plus your bridal suite will be ready with champagne and strawberries for you and your bridesmaids..They gave us a package with a lot more info, feel free to ask...so excited!!!
  19. Alexis, I would strongly suggest doing a site visit..Yesica can even arrange a tasting while you are there. Once you have a signed contract you are entitled to two free nights for a site visit.
  20. Hey ladies, We did our site visit to both of these places last month and wanted to share the photos. I may be able to answer some of your questions. For those planning on including toiletries to your OOT bags..we bought sunscreen, mini toothpaste, toothbrushes etc and found those and even shaving cream in the bathrooms at Dreams. Enjoy! 21. Yesica is pretty nice but she's a busy girl so i decided to hire Ileana and Luba from Romantic Cabo Weddings. They're very efficient too but get back to you sooner...Luba has even sent me quick emails from her blackberry while waiting for a green light.
  22. Im getting married in October and my guests are all paying about $1200 for air and hotel for a 5 nights stay. Flying from La Guardia. Its pricey, but we tell them Dreams is an all suites, luxury hotel. Some may not agree, but I really think you need an all-inclusive in Los Cabos
  23. Hi everyone! Im Mel and Im getting married at Dreams los Cabos on October 3rd this year. I joined some time ago but never posted. I have so much to do..started planning in October but still don't a dress, a photographer or decided on my centerpieces. Im really excited about this forum!
