  1. Congratulations, glad you had a wonderful time. Can I ask did you get a room upgrade when you arrived, I have emailed them already but they said it depends on availability. Also what was the weather like, I have been scanning the forecast & I saw they have had rain on quite a few occasions? Also if it did rain, did it last for long?? Sorry for all the questions, we only have 2 weeks from next Tuesday we are departing, so getting very anxious now?!? Congrats again, looking forward to seeing your pics, we have booked Michael too! Sarah x
  2. Hi Blurt, glad to hear everything is going well for you, yes you do get a reply but be prepared not to hear anything from Chandlyn for at least 2-3 weeks, I was panicking as I knew my docs had arrived at ROR but hadn't heard anything from her so I was sending her crazy emails asking her to confirm she had them in her office?!? She mustve thought I was a right hysterical mare....LOL?! Will post my review when we return....only 3 weeks tomorrow we fly out.....Can't wait!!! Sarah x
  3. Enjoy every minute & be sure to let us know how it all goes....am praying for sunshine myself in less than 4 weeks!!!!
  4. If you send me your email Scott-Pierre, I'll email you the brochure I have from Tai Flora Sarah x

Someone on here said that the nearest exchange is in town, so maybe we'll have to pop down there for more. Hopefully won't need alot anyway - its AI for god's sake ha ha You planning on doing any excursions? Hi yeah our plan is to pay for everything with travellers cheques as well but I heard its good to have a few extra dollars for tipping. We might have to go down to the town to use the ATM but we'll have to see, it would be nice to see a bit of the local area & maybe do a couple of excursions. Unfortunately we'll have to see what we can afford but mind you, those 2 weeks are going to fly by! What with our wedding on the Friday & yours on the following Wednesday, remember we'll have to allow the day's after the weddings, we'll be in a fragile state (maybe) & of course we're going back on the Tuesday before you so we'll see. Yeah sure unless we go outside resort, it won't cost us a penny!

Some organise a stripper or others just have a pub crawl & end up in a nightclub to party on & dance. Its anything you want to do really, some brides organise a pampering day/weekend at a health farm, anything goes! Only necessity is there is to be NO MEN allowed! The men's version is usually a Stag party, where the boys do anything they fancy! Hope that is helpful Sarah x
  7. Hi I know Tai Flora emailed Chandlyn to confirm I was getting my bouquet from them, and would they collect the payment from me, so I assume she will be paid for everything. Are you just bringing US$ or a combination of both J$ and US? We were planning to bring our debit cards with us so we can take money out of the ATMs but you only get J$ I thought it would be a better exchange rate taking money out when we're there. What are your views? x
  8. Hi Claire Can't wait to be there, want to be there NOW! We'll definitely have a great time, we might meet up at one of the bars, I've got your no so will txt when you arrive! Roll on 5 weeks! Enjoy your hen weekend! Sarah x

That's so junky to hear about your friends and family! I can relate on some level too since we got grief from people and they are not coming. I feel like, if you really can't afford it or even just plain old don't want to, then speak your truth - don't hide behind excuses. Just be honest, right? Ah, if only it were that easy. Who cares, party on. If you want to leave it until the 2nd Beth to meet up, you will probably be tired after all your travelling, whatever suits yourself, will we arrange to meet at a specific bar, maybe Dunn's River, providing its not closed early?? I'm so looking forward to it now, especially since there's so many of us there at the same time..... we'll defo have a blast!!! x
  10. I've gone with the 2pm slot on the 3rd April, it should definitely be sunny still but we're having the beach gazebo so hoping for a little bit of shade during the ceremony!
  11. Hi Beth Yea we'll have a few bevvies to get into the wedding mood!!! See you then..... can't wait, only back to work Monday for 4 weeks then I'm finished!!!! Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!! Can't believe it!!!!! x

I decided not to have a bridal party/groomsmen (a headache on its own), which has saved hundreds of dollars and I can splurge a little on other stuff like favors and upped the package with my photographer. I invited 150, so far 15 are on board. Oh well. Anyone having the Jamaican wedding blues, please know that this will pass and at the end of the day as long as the most important people are there, its all good! Hi Waliandayanna Glad to hear another bride who is sticking to her guns and not letting anyone change her mind! I had exactly the same trouble with my Dad, himself & his partner couldn't understand why we didn't want to get married a little closer to home (Cyprus) as they both love that place. As I have mentioned on another post, a close friend of mine married there about 3 years ago, they went for a week & the whole holiday, including the wedding set them back about £6-7K as they had to bring spending money, pay for the chapel, reception, flowers, photographer, etc etc etc! Another big upset for me has been the fact my dad won't be there to give me away, his partner said 'Jamaica's not a place we want to visit' BUT they're well able to go on 2 cruises in the past 3 years, visit her son who lives in LA twice, and to cap it all off they went on holiday last May to Canada for almost 3 weeks, so please don't give me any of that c**p that Jamaica's not their scene. Also I happen to know her son who lives in LA, was married to a different girl (who my stepmum didn't like) and they flew off to Antigua to get married, but she refused to attend. I probably seem to be a bit frustrated but am I going over the top slightly!? Anyway, regardless of whoever's not going to be there, I intend to have a great wedding day & a marvellous holiday!!!! Good luck with everything!!! Sarah x x

Are you coming with a large group? ( sorry for all the questions) Hi Jesjess, Our party is very small actually, its just me, h2b & our son coming, we had some of our family pull out as they couldn't afford to go which is a bit disappointing but that's life. The only thing that annoyed me was the fact they were all suggesting getting married nearer to home (ie: Cyprus) and I know for a fact its not that cheap to get married there, a close friend of mine married there abt 3 years ago & for a week it cost them something like £6-7K as they had to pay out for the chapel, reception & spending money when they got there, which I think is mad! At least I know we're going to a gorgeous country, its a once in a lifetime experience & we'll be there for 2 weeks for probably a bit less than that. I've got everything planned out now, made my flower arrangements with Tai Flora, got the beauty package booked with Renova spa and the photography is booked with Michael at the photoshop, so all we have to do is pay for everything when we arrive. It will be fantastic, at the end of the day you make the best of it, regardless of who's there or not there! Roll on 6 weeks!! X
  14. Hi Girls Yes it will be perfect, I'm just so laid back, everyone here is expecting me to be stressing & pulling my hair out at this moment, the only thing I've left to do is have my dress taken in, 1st appt is on the 6th so I'm on a v.strict diet (Cambridge) at the mo to lose at least another stone in 2 weeks but I'm very chilled out with it all. I have to say I've yet to get totally excited about our trip but hopefully when we head to the airport the afternoon before it'll sink in then, plus its my 32nd birthday the day before we go so I'm looking forward to having a few well deserved drinks! We will defo meet up someplace & enjoy ourselves!! Take care! Sarah x
  15. Hi Beth Our's is the 2pm slot, only 6 weeks to go & we'll be there!!!! Can't wait!!!! If your free we might meet up for a drink someplace & compare plans. Unfortunately for us we have no other family coming out, they fed us the usual excuses, 'Jamaica's not our place', 'Could you not have chosen Cyprus instead, that way more of us could go', etc, etc, but I've met another DW bride on here, who has agreed to be our witnesses so we're good to go! Good luck with the rest of your planning, feel free to pm me if you need any info! Sarah
  16. Hello all I was just wondering if I am alone in getting married on 3rd April @ ROR? We'll be there from 31st March - 14th April & would like to see who else will be there at the same time? Happy planning ladies! Sarah x
  17. Hi Jess Try not to stress too much about it, as far as I know there's a max of 3 weddings a day, 11am, 2pm & 4pm so there is a substantial break between weddings. Our wedding is on the 3rd April, we'll be there from 31st March so if you're not too preoccupied we might see each other around. Relax & go with the flow is what I say. Hope all your plans are coming together now, what time is your ceremony?? Sarah xx
  18. Hi Moy I haven't come across anyone else on here that has their wedding on our day, however I'm sure we're not the only ones getting married! I haven't even seen any reviews on a beach reception either, apart from Seagrape but I heard it is really close to the main stage area so it would be really loud during the shows. Have you thought about Plantation? Or is that the poolside venue?? Try not to stress too much, I know its easy for me to say that but I am positive everything will work itself out!!! Sarah x
  19. Hi Girls Yes its ok to change the packages, I've been chopping & changing it back at least twice, you will get an email confirming your booking from the wedding sales team & you can email them back to change if you need to. Also for those of you booking extras, I think you can book them when you get to the resort, they are really flexible that way. Happy planning ladies, only 7 weeks to go til our wedding day...... Cant wait!!! Sarah
  20. Congrats & best wishes for your new married life, am so plsd everything worked out the way you wanted Sarah x
  21. Thats good Claire, he sent the same email to me as well. Have you booked his package or just one of the regular snappers? We've gone for his with the 70 pics on CD & the dvd as well, its not that bad, I think its setting us back around US$1000. Speak soon S x x
  22. Hi Kari - yes I couriered over our docs last year, was super organised & a bit worried they wouldn't be ok, fortunately they were. Hi Claire, am glad you feel a bit better, suppose he is really busy but still. I heard the internet speeds take an age to upload there so that's probably the delay with replies. Dont worry chicken, we'll have good wedding day's, am sure of it! x x
  23. Does anybody have any idea about late March-early april? If anyone knows how hot it will get that would be good to know too!
  24. Hi all I was looking at the photoshop FAQs & noticed they advise people to bring a laptop with them so the pictures & dvd can be viewed, apparently they do have one but its not always available. I am not really keen on bringing mine for 2 reasons; 1. I don't imagine the laptop would fit in the in-room safe 2. We will be bringing enough luggage with us without having to bring this as well. If any previous brides can help it would be really helpful?? Thanks S x
  25. Hi how are you?? I can't believe he brushed you off like that, what an a***hole, he was nothing but helpful & courteous to me, imagine saying 'nothing is set in stone' & its the most important day of your life. I certainly hope he was having an off day, for your sake, have you booked him yet? Talk soon hun x x x
