Our order was (with best man standing in the gazebo already): Groom with his parents My mother and brother (who carried the rings) Matron of Honor Flower Girl Bride and Father I guess since we didn't have a big wedding party we didn't feel the need to have an actual rehearsal for the ceremony. Sandra got everyone together and lined them up when we were about to start. She stood by everyone and cued them when it was time for them to start walking. Everyone on the wedding staff wears earpieces connected to a walkie talkie (or some other sort of communication device) so that they can stay in communication with each other from different places...it was actually kind of cool watching them work! Once you walk down the aisle and you are given away, the officiant asks that you and your FI stand on the other side of the ceremony table so that the ceremony table is between you and your guests (if that makes sense). In my opinion everything went well for my ceremony without the rehearsal since Sandra was there for every step of the way
  4. I actually am the oddball here because I found my dress on the internet and knew I just had to try it on. I called lots of bridal shops to see if they had it. I tried it on and fell in LOVE. I tried on other dresses while I was at the bridal shop just to make mother dear happy but nothing else could even come close and thankfully my mom agreed.
  5. That's a good question! My wedding band has diamonds that go 3/4 of the way around. Technically it was only supposed to be half but I have really small hands so after sizing it ends up being 3/4, haha. Anyway my band doesn't spin that much because it seems to fit up against my e-ring well
  6. work : gotta pay the bills somehow
  7. MonicaC - was that you and your FI/DH walking around with Sandra the Monday before your wedding? LOL! DH and I were sitting on the beach by the volleyball court and saw Sandra walking with a couple. I ran into Sandra later that day and she said she had a wedding that Weds. Stupid me didn't even think it would be one of the BDW girls. Congrats Mrs!! I'm glad to hear your wedding went well too!! Enjoy your honeymoon!

  14. Wow aug0208, you have a big group!! As Jacy said, they don't let you do a rehearsal dinner without extra charges...however, we spoke with our WC Sandra when we got onsite and she talked to the head waiter to see if they could do anything. We were able to get our own section of the World Cafe right when the restaurant opened at 6pm (no extra charge). We had 29 people total, including DH and I...and our little corner at the World Cafe worked out fine. Service was a bit slow though. I think that since tourism is down they have a little wiggle room with trying to accomodate you. Dinner at World Cafe is sometimes menu sometimes buffet..it depends on the day. Our "rehearsal dinner" fell on a Wednesday and luckily it was a menu day. Hope that helps!
  15. DH and I used the DJ and we had approximately 30 guests. We didn't want to have to worry about making and organizing playlists. We ended up burning a CD with our first dance song and some of our favs and gave it to the DJ. For our resort we wouldn't have saved much more if we were to rent out the music system vs hiring the DJ anyway. I don't regret using the DJ. It really depends on how picky you are with music. Good luck with your decision!
  16. So sad!! DH was a big fan of his. Sapphire - sorry to hear about your loss too...
  17. Yikes!! Hopefully people will book asap after they get your email. Do you have a block of rooms reserved at any of the hotels? Don't stress, everything will work itself out
