I wonder if it would be cheaper to just buy them at home and bring them. Keep us updated on everything & good luck!

I def need a copy of it so I know what I am paying for since I already booked my date and put down a $500 deposit. She is ususally very fast at getting back to me so I will post it as soon as she sends it over.

Yes, that $115 does include open bar. My FI and I freaked out a few days ago b/c she told him that it was just for food. I went bridezilla and was crying & ready to cancel the wedding and move it to another resort b/c when we did the site visit, the food manager told us it would be $60-$80, which I was fine with. I made him call back and Miram said that she was mistaken and the $115 does include an open bar. That is still somewhat resonable considering what the prices would be for this same thing at home. It still pissed me off because I was told it would be way less before I booked. Oh well, I guess I learned the hard way to get things in writing! Kerry seems like she does not really know whats going on. I email her questions and she answers some of them and not others. I wish we could just work with Linus or Omeka from MDV b/c I heard from other brides that they are very organized and on top of things. Hopefully Kerry will get the hang of things soon. Also, a lot of things were spelled wrong etc.. in her email and it just did not give me a good feeling. Also, about the sundeck, the deck is part of Tensing Pen (I think thats the name) which is located right nextdoor. You could walk over the cliffs to get to it. I am assuming that he will either put in a walkway to make it easier to get to, or build his own sundeck and/or ladder into the water. As of right now you have to jump off the cliff to get in. I am not trying to complain but it is frustrating to feel like things are not going as I was told they were going to. Everyone I met on my site vist was amazing and that is why we booked. Why do I feel like Kerry just does not fit in with all of the other people that work there?! They are all so helpful and eager to please and she does not seem to care or be that in the know about anything.

We actually got engaged in Jamaica at The Grand Palladium. One of your pictures looked like you were standing on one of the beaches at Grand Palladium but I was not sure b/c I am sure a lot of the beaches look the same. I also have a wedding website at Welcome but I feel like I need to add more detailed booking info like you have under your RSVP section. I might borrow that information from you and add it to my site! I also was between Sungold and Sabb but Sabb was so much more expensive and they do not include nearly as much in their packages. I did book Paula and Damien so it was a little expensive but you get so much for your money (10 hours of shooting on the day, CD of prints, image hosting online, 2 slideshows, a big wedidng book, $250 towards prints, and a 2 hr shoot the day before or after the wedding). We are using that 2 hours for our TTD shoot! As for Sabb they quoted around $7,000 for their best package which did not include as much and the TTD would have been and extra $300/hr plus $400 for prints!!! Also, I spoke with Paula on the phone before I booked and she is the SWEETEST lady! She is very southern and just as nice as can be. She told me to call her if I ever need her to go look at/do anything in Jamaica for me, flowers, etc.. since she knows I might want someone to see things in person! She also said if anyone is not getting back to me, in the past she has actually gone to hotels and told them that they need to get back to her bride! It makes me feel great to know she has my back & I can't wait to work with her! I already got my STDs too. Claudette! Good call on starting this thread So far I have booked the photographer (Sungold Photography) and other than that I am still waiting on Linus or Kerry (the new WC for MDC) to email me back with lists of preferred vendors for the DJ, Band, Flowers, linens etc... I am getting a little annoyed b/c I emailed them over a week ago and Kerry told me that she would, "get back to me shortly" and I still have not heard anything. I told Kim a few days ago and she said that she would tell Kerry to get back to me, but still I have heard nothing as of today! I'm sure they are super busy with the grand opening but still it's not hard to send over a list of vendors. I am a little nervous about how things will go with Kerry since she is new. I had heard that Linus is a stickler for details and always did a great job of his MDV brides so I was hoping to have him at MDC. Oh well hopefully this will get better!

You are better off not being a bridesmaid! If she is going to act like that then you are also better of without her as a friend. I mean from the way keeps changing her mind on the wedding date, etc.. I would not be suprised if she ends up changing her mind about the groom and calling the whole wedding off!!!

My pictures were taken back during the first week in October. They are hoping to have everything done by FEB. I think it will look great by all of our dates! I have seen updated pics (they were private so I can't share) and the pool is totally done now, the villas are totally done (minus the hot tubs) and the gazebo is finished. The hotel part was still under construction. However, it has been over a month since I have seen any new photos so more is prob done by now! My STDs are finally done and sent out! I borrowed the letter format and postcard format from Marie Sam. Thanks for posting your information! I wanted a letter that had all of the important information about our wedding and I also wanted the guests to be able to reply as to if they thought they would be able to make it. That is why I enclosed a stamped reply postcard, I figure we can get a good head count this way. I LOVE the tropical fruit stamps! It really keeps with the whole destination tropical theme! We also really wanted to give our guest magnets so they can have a little reminder to keep on their fridge. We got these from VistaPrint for FREE! I think they turned out really cute! Pics are below: I got my metallic gold envelopes from envelopemall.com, the metallic pink azalea letter paper from paperandmore.com, the custom stamps with our monogram from Stamps.com, the beach magnet from VistPrint, the postcard from VistaPrint, the postcard stamps from the post office (you just ask for the tropical fruit postcard stamps), and the palm tree punch to make the palm tree stickers from Michaels Crafts store.

We did not stay at Le Blanc but at the sister property, Sun Palace. They have the same exact rooms which are AWESOME!!! I know that Le Blanc is supose to be "a step above" Sun Palace. We felt Sun Palace treated us like royalty so I can only imagine that you will be treated the same. We did meet a couple at Sun Palace that had gotten engaged at Le Blanc last year and they loved it there. The food at Sun Palace was great and this couple said that the food is even better at Le Blanc!! The decor looks the same at both and it's very clean and minimalist. You are going to have an amazing wedding there!!!

I actually did a walk through back in October. We booked almost the entire resort for next December. If you book during the grand opening special, they won't give you any further discount (since it is already 35% off). I know they give 10% off if you book the entire Moon Dance Villas so I would assume they would do the same at the Cliffs; that is if you are not planning on booking during the grand opening. Based on what I saw 3 months ago, and on pictures that I have seen from a bride that got married at the end of NOV they will be finished by Feb 2009, March at the lastest for final touches. The progress they made from the time that we were there the first week in OCT to her wedding at the end of NOV was AMAZING! When she was there only the Villas were totally complete and the pool and bar was in working order. Next year I feel like all of the plants will have grown in and will look great. Don't stress about it not being done by then! It's so far away! Let me know if you decide to also book with Moon Dance!!!

We are doing out honeymoon at Moon Dance Villas for 4 nights after our wedding. Let me know if you decide on Moon Dance!

I know that if you have more than 22 people flying AJ for your wedding they will bump you up to 1st class..even if you are all on different flights...I am not sure otherwise.
