  1. Here is that thread Joanna: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t42467
  2. omg I almost fell off my chair when you said you were going back to the tanning beds...haha
  3. if you do decide the fake route - I agree with Jac - the airbrush is way better than mystic or another type of booth because they get you everywhere
  4. Did you read JamieLynne's thread from yesterday? Don't do it! I don't know if you should do the airbrush tan either though as your pictures might look funny - I know photographers don't usually like the fake tans
  5. oh no Jamie - you poor thing!! I'm not sure if that is covered under Homeowner's??

I'm starting to think I should wait and send them out mid June and ask for rsvp by July 15th? Do y'all think I'm sending them to soon?? I don't think you are sending them out too soon but is there any reason why you are giving them such short notice to reply since your wedding is in November? I think people need longer than that for a destination wedding if you can - they need to decide if they can go...I'm having my RSVP date 2 months before the wedding which is still early, but I feel like it is enough time for them to be able to decide if they can go....KWIM? I just couldn't imagine giving such short notice. But also I am doing a cruise so it has to be paid off by 8.24.09. I sent out my invites in Feb in think with our booking deadline being 3.31.09 it has now been extended to 5.31.09... I just felt like with the economy the way it is I wanted ppl to have as much time as possible to pay on their trips... Am I wrong I'm sending my invites to everyone I sent my STD's to...as far as booking, mine are technically supposed to book by June but I know that is not going to happen...I feel like some people are just going to go direct instead of through our TA because June is very early - however it is Thanksgiving weekend so I guess it makes sense....I'm not sure if that answered your question??
  7. Erika - try etsy - you can do an alchemy bid on how much you are willing to spend and you will get a bunch of calligraphy artists who bid on it - you'd be surprised - with the economy being crappy you can get some great deals! That's awesome you can do it yourself Megan
  8. I was looking for inexpensive beach tote bags for my bridesmaids and found this great website: CYMA Bags I ended up ordering the bigger shoulder tote bags so I could fit all their bridesmaids gifts: Reusable Shoulder Tote Bag 4 Color Combo Pack | CYMA Bags They are great - and only $2.50 each with the 4 pack! They have a bunch of canvas bags also - they are not much more expensive either. I just received them today and love them - the girls will not only be able to use them in PV - but they can reuse them for groceries when they get back home (I think that is what they are really for but they are awesome beach bags as well) Anyway - thought I would pass this on as these were some of the least expensive decent ones I found....and shipping is very fast as well!
  9. did you do a search? there are tons of girls who did these and they had great info to put on the different pages
  10. Props to you Joann - I am very DIY challenged so it wasn't an option for me....can't wait to see yours
  11. Hey date twin / Joann! I'm waiting till the swine flu dies down a bit more before I send them out - I am thinking the end of May - what about you? As far as calligraphy - I had 114 invitations, 114 return addresses on back, and 114 reply envelopes with my address on them to send them back to - final charge was $265 after some negotiating...I think she wanted around $330 at first?
  12. okay ordered the white - way see through! so I'm returning it - and like tcram said their customer service is amazing - the owner Erin is really great
  13. P.S If you click on the pictures you can see the invitations better - they are a little blurry on the screen
  14. I just wanted to give props to Jeanie from .::: thePaperNut :::. for my beautiful wedding invitations...she did such a great job and I would highly recommend her for brides looking for more of a modern and non-traditional invitation. I came across Jeanie's website from a blog, and I loved her modern looking invitations...I fell in love with the Henna design but was thinking that letterpresss is not in my budget even though I love it. Well I got pricing back, and because Jeanie was a new shop, her prices were already a lot lower than regular letterpress vendors - but I even did some tweaking from there (no belly band, envelope printing, etc.) to get the prices within my budget. I will post the actual invitations - but my camera is being funny -so for now you will get the digital invites - just know they are way more beautiful in person: Invitation: Reception Card: RSVP Card: And to top it off -she threw in these awesome favor tags: After I received the invitations - I knew I wanted calligraphy...I wanted something different though, not your standard calligraphy....I found another awesome vendor on etsy: 2inspire on Etsy - Profile Eleanor was great and did an amazing job...once again these pics are from her website - but mine look exactly the same - just with silver ink on white envelopes...she does beautiful work: That's it - I promise to post real pics when I can get my camera to work
