Please clarify something for me anyone. So if I wanted to do a beach reception or massage hut reception can I or can I not play music if I rent the speakers/ipod dock? I am confused about whether or not you can play music outside?

I was considering this resort but was a little reluctant because of the lack of information/reviews/photos on their weddings, but the video really puts you right there! Thanks!

Is this a permanent re-opening? Or just for high season? Is there any suggestion of future uncertainties for 2009?

Well said Sunbride, it's very easy for things written to be misconstrued. It's a frustrating situation for all the brides, and I can see how it helps to have a place to "vent" where others share your frustration and then Sunbride you have contributed a wealth of information to this forum so I could see how you would want to shed a positive light on the situation. Funny thing though, it took me months to decide on Dreams Tulum for my June 22, 2009 DW but when I called to confirm my date it was already taken. I was so bummed out to find out that my date was no longer available and I am not at all flexible with my date. I found that out a few days before all of this closure stuff, so a part of me felt "saved" from this mess.... but I have been following all of this as if I am getting married at DT because I was going to push my date up by one whole year just to have my DW here! I guess I'm hoping that this is all resolved soon that all of you brides can have the place you want and me too.... someday!

I am so glad that everything worked out despite the Dreams Tulum Closure Chaos. The teaser pics show that you were a beautiful bride in a beautiful place. Congratulations! With your 22 VIP people around you, saying yours vows to the man you love, beside the beautiful ocean... how could it get any better than that?! Superb!

I am sooooo frustrated! My June wedding date was available Monday and today it is not! I was waiting all week for a reply from Landy or Lizette, so I decided to call and was told my date was unavailable and that almost all of June 2009 is full!!! I can't change my date because the date means something to us, so now I have to change resorts!!!! Just venting! It took me too long to decide on Dreams so now I am where I am. Argggggggggggh!

Lupita the WC did get back to me and answered all of my questions. She seems very accommodating and answered all of my questions. They do beach receptions but you must have 40 people at minimum for that.

She did let me know that you can have a microphone set up. I am considering this resort, but am also concerned with the lack of available information there is out there on weddings here. I am having trouble finding any info on weddings at this resort. I know they are going Adults only this November 2008. Does anyone have any contact info for a wedding dept. for this resort? Any experience with this resort?? Undecided, Barbara

Thanks Carina- I got that feeling from what I've read, and myself and my group are majority around the age group of 29 years old, so we aren't looking for clubs necessarily, but something to do at night here and there. Thank you. So what time does everything shut down at the resort??

Also, can you rent wave runners on the beach?? And, what time does the disco close (or any other night life for that matter). What is there to do there around the evenings after dinner? How late do the bars stay open? Can you go on the beach after dark? I guess I'm wondering if the resort is like dead at night. Thanks.

I'm a moment away from booking my June 2009 wedding with Dreams Tulum. My only concern is, does it make anyone uncomfortable that there are so many weddings booked at this resort that it will feel like a wedding factory?? Maybe it's not that noticeable that these weddings whip through there and take over? My wedding will be on a Monday, and I'm worried about seeing all these weddings (especially that the weekend prior is all booked) and feeling like my special day is one of many you will see in a one week stay. But I guess maybe it comes with the territory, I'm finding a lot of hotels in the area have multiple weddings per day and I really like the affordability of this resort. Can anybody calm my only concern? (... and sorry, I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, I've already checked my wedd. date avail. with Landy/Lizette, so I'm super interested in this resort)... thanks!!

Thanks for the welcome all! And thanks for the advice on booking the date... I did ask for availability and they have it for my day (which is a Monday). I just have to commit to the resort! There are so many to choose from in the area.

Barbara wedd date: June 22, 2009 Dreams Tulum (possibly, currently researching locations) I'm glad I happened upon this Forum! It's hard to decide on where in the Riviera Maya to have my wedding.
