  1. what is all the paperwork needed to get married in Jamaica? i want to make sure i have everything.
  2. Does anyone have the menu and prices? I know I saw it before, but i am not good a searching for past posts. I emailed Chandlyn but you know how that can be. Thanks.
  3. wow that's a lot of people. congrats. have a great time. just let me know how everything is, especially the poolside reception.
  4. if anyone knows how to use this software please email me at [email protected] i just want to make a continuous list and not have the ackward pauses between songs. thanks.
  5. thanks. i do not want to use the disco though i wanted to have the dj at my poolside reception.
  6. what was your impression of the DJ at ROR? I was thinking about having an ipod reception, but I am worried about how the music will flow and if there will be ackward pauses between songs, etc. I have heard such mixed reviews about the DJ and the kind of music played. I would probably still bring my loaded ipod and have the DJ mix between the two based on his music selection. what was your experience?
  7. Open itunes click on the song Go to File--- Get Info (or you can right click on the song and Get Info is the first option) Go to Options in that tab you will see start and stop times. you can change it there. i would only cut the dead air at the end of the song using this option because it will not fade out the song it will abruptly cut the song of at the time you choose and it may sound weird. also select the option to make the song part of a gapless album.
  8. I had no idea it would cost so much for a single person to come to the wedding. I know resorts are based on double occupancy, but if a person comes by themselves they are paying almost double. I have told everyone they can bring a guest, but is there any way I can get the price lowered for a single w/o paying for it myself?
  9. edit the start and stop times of songs using itunes. i read that this can be done in a post, but i do not know how.
  10. thanks that's it. i have not talked to michael about doing it yet. i wanted to show my fiance and see what he thought. i guess i should do that now though.
  11. who got married at ROR and had michael do a TTD at Dunn's River? I can't find that thread and want to show it to my fiance.
  12. good idea on the magnets. do you know how big of a magnet you need?
  13. how did you request a quote? i am on their website, but i do not see that option anywhere. thanks in advance.
  14. I am getting married at ROR and my big question was why do I have to pay for food or drinks at an AI. I think this is to pay for the servers and bartenders that would be required for your event. I think that if you are not having a large group you could just have a "cocktail hour" at one of the bars nearby, but if you are having a large group this can get pretty hectic. For the sand ceremony question. The sand ceremony is something that a lot of DWs do instead of the lighting of the unity candle. Usually it is very windy and the candle blows out. Basically you have two colors of sand that you combine into one, united the two of you. It also is something you can take home and keep forever.
  15. try Wedding Professionals Association Jamaica. they are associates of sungold photography and their prices are more reasonable. their website is very extensive so you can get a good feel of the quality of their work. you can also pick which photog you want to use. sungold photo is great, but their prices are higher and they book fast. i tried to book them a year in advance and they were already booked. good luck
  16. What rooms do you recommend for a honeymoon stay? I don't want to have the lowest grade room, but I don't think its necessary to have the most expensive. I want a nice room away from the crowds when we want so quiet romantic time.
  17. does anyone recently married at ROR have pro pics i can see? all pics i have seen are of other resorts and i just want to see the locations that the pros use at the resort. thanks.
  18. we are having dinner at plantation because we have more than 50 ppl and then we are having the reception poolside. that way we are outside enjoying the fact that we are on an island and at the beach, but we don't have to be in the sand. i am really not a sand person. i just feel like why did you come all that way to have everything in a building. just my opinion though.
  19. did anyone use a florist besides tai flora? all i want is ceremony and reception decor. i do not even want flowers, i just do not want to have to transport centerpieces in my luggage. also can you rent from them or do you have to buy everything b/c i do not want to have to bring it home?
  20. mambee bay is free for up to 50 guests. over that you have to have a private reception at the plantation restaurant $500 every 2 hours. if you want to have dancing there you can. there is the option to have dancing at the disco, poolside, or beach side. this is an additional price
  21. so does anyone have any other suggestions of what i can walk down the aisle to?
  22. can you post the list of songs for the steel drum band? thanks
  23. OMG that is exactly what I have been looking in too. I have been looking at Lee's Tours (Welcome to Lees Taxi and Tours Jamaica by Lees Elite Travel & Tours Ltd., Taxi and Tours in Jamaica, Jamaica Taxi and Tours - www.leestaxiandtoursjamaica.com - [email protected]). I have heard wonderful things about them. They do have a shopping/ Dunn's River Falls tour, but I only wanted to do the shopping and they will customize a tour for you. I haven't gotten to the point of getting prices for that though. One of the reasons we picked Riu was for the golf. I know it is not on site, but the have transfers to take you there. I think it is at the Sandals resort next door. If you get any more info please let me know. Thanks.
  24. We are getting married at ROR and then having our HM at Couples Swept Away
