  2. Indeed those places are great! The W is a great idea too W Hotels Chicago: W Chicago - Lakeshore - Hotel Rooms at WHotels.com.com I was considering checking into condo/high rise vacation rentals as well. Some owner's are willing to rent them out for a night - especially during down season. I looked at the FANCY hotels too... but a lot of the decor looked very elegant. Now, why would that be a bad thing? Technically it's not and you could get some amazing photos... however I think the more clean line modern type stuff makes the focus of the photo on YOU and let's face it... that's what your fiance wants!!!
  3. WOW - These look great! I saw in there FAQ they do group sessions! Have you contacted them for availability?? Quote: Originally Posted by jessygrl75 Here is another photographers web page in Chicago check it out. 'Boudoir Photography'
  4. Hi Amy, OMG who did your boudoir photo's?? You look like a professional model!! They're amazing! I'm looking for a boudoir photographer at the moment and I'd rather go on referrals for this. Do you mind sharing who did your photo's? I haven't seen any this nice yet - they're awesome!!! Rachel
  5. Mayan Brides! We haven't had any Mayan updates lately. Anything to share? Recent visits, pics, etc.? I was hoping to make a site visit this December before the wedding but as it turns out we lack the funds to go now So I'd love to hear from you Mayan Brides! Rachel
  6. This is one of my big DIY projects as well! Did your fiance edit the songs using itunes or GarageBand? Unfortunately I do not have a MAC so I'm hoping I can do this with itunes. I grouped my playlists into six catagories. 1)Ceremony 2)Cocktail Hour 3)Reception 4)1st Dance 5)Dance Warm-up 6)Dancing Fools Other DIY iPod playlisters - how are you organizing your music Thanks for the tips - I am having so much fun creating all of our favorite tunes into our playlists I stayed up late last wkend getting started on this and I was already getting all teary eyed picking out ceremony music. Towards the end of the night we had a full dance party in our living room - I LOVE IT! Rachel
  7. Your wedding date is the day after mine!! I'm willing to travel some too if it's more economical to do it near Chicago or in Indy. Too steep for me regularly, but I think I can fit it in the budget if we can get the prices to come down a bit. Plus, Chi-town is only a couple of hours away!
  8. Are there any Chicago gals interested in trying to coordinate a discounted group rate for a Boudoir Photographer Session? I have heard of girls doing this in the past and I think it's a great idea! Here's the old thread of inspiration...http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2412 So far I've been referred to Bobbi & Mike. bobbi+mike boudoir Any other recommendations out there for the Chicago area? How far advance should these be done? I'm getting married April 2009. Let's do it Ladies!! Rachel

  12. Absolutely - I am still interested. I need two dresses. Both girls could wear a size 4 or 6 (petities). I was out bid in the ebay auction So I need two dresses. You only have one possible 6 - the size 10 that was altered to a size 6. The 0's would be way too small. Sorry to confuse you. PLEASE do keep me posted on if she is interested -much appreciated!!!! Thanks, Rachel

  17. Hi JaimeLynne, My FI and I are planning on booking at the Westin. The rooms online look beautiful but I have a feeling ALL of the rooms are not that modernized and updated. We are booking the Royal Club Level for the free breakfast and cocktail hour. Thanks for posting the pics of the Royal Club Room! Did you notice if you went to breakfast late things were scarce or did they replenish frequently? Do you still have more pics of the rooms at the hotel? I realize you posted this back in April so I understand if you don't. I'm sooooo excited about finally booking our stay that I keep wanting to see more and more! Hehe
  18. I am sooo sorry for your loss It's devastating to loose someone you love and it always feels too soon, even when you feel you sould've been preparing for it. She looks sooo sweet I hope the days get better for you soon.
  19. This is perfect! Great price too! Thanks for sharing - We'll have to check out the store here in Chicago. I recently bought my dress - which is more of an ivory color - this would look great w/my dress!
  20. Congratulations and Welcome to the Forum! There are a lot of Las Caletas Brides here who can help you. I was considering Las Caletas but have decided to go with The Mayan Palace. Good luck to you!
  21. WELCOME!!! I'm getting married in PV April 2009. I can't wait! This forum helped me a bunch in getting started. Good luck and enjoy making a few friends here a long the way...
  22. Yay!! I'm soooo excited to hear from so many Mayan Palace Brides!!! April 2009 - Wow how did I get ahead of the gang?! I should be getting my official contract today. Spiritual Ceremony lead by a friend - Jetty Cocktail Hour - Sunset bar Reception - Beach/Bar area Location fee includes Jetty, Beach and Sunset Bar area, aisle runner, chairs, table at the end of jetty, reception table, linens and chairs, lighting, torches and candles. Corkage fee includes bartenders, servers, ice, soda and juice. So far we like the idea of having our iPOD DJ instead of live music - but not definite. Photog, Floral, Decor and Menu TBD. OH yeah - we are thinking of doing Mango Margarita's for our signature cocktail hour. COLORS: Turquoise, Lime, Mango Keep in touch!
  23. Hi Edna, Did the Mayan give you a complimentary bridal suite for the wedding? I believe you said you were staying at a different hotel. I was told there is no area provided for the wedding party to get dressed and the Mayan did not offer a complimentary room for this. So if we do not end up staying at the Mayan we'll have to borrow someone's room to get ready. I thought one of the girls on here got a free room?? We are currently working out a contract and it seems that a lot of the perks (fire works, dance floor, etc) that the girls were getting on here are no longer included. I would greatly appreciate hearing some feedback from the girls before signing our contract if these are things we should be working into our contract before finalizing. Thanks so much!!!
