However I do have a contact person and some menus/pricing for Los Burros Bar and Daquiri Dicks if you want it. Would you mind sharing the menus/pricing you got from Los Burros Bar? My FI and I are also trying to get a in touch with Fajita Republic which has prooved to be difficult. How do I get in touch with Celina? I tried searching her - perhaps I entered it wrong?? Thanks much! R
  12. I am also interested in more info on the Fajita Republic downtown. Does anyone know if it is walking distance from the Malecon? I'd also be interested in seeing some group menus and obtaining a restaurant email address or contact. I'm having a hard time finding contact info for the new loctation and pictures of the new location. Thanks!!! R

When I thought we were going to have 50+ guests, I was able to select 8-9 appetizers that would be served all evening. I was going to set the drink tab to $600. When I got the final headcount of 40, I decided to do an appetizer, dinner, dessert (options from the regular menu) and keep the $600 drink tab. We did end up going over on the drink tab a little, but that's because the waiters brought out tequila shots at the end. (They did ask for approval on whether to go over the tab or not as I requested.) Food was fantastic, service was wonderful, and communication was so easy. Plus the space was really a perfect size for us, not too big or small. I have pictures and will try to post soon! Hi! I am interested in seeing your RD photo's at Mestizos Also may I ask you what appetizers and drinks you served. The place sounds wonderful. My FI and I did find there website and have put an email in for more info but have yet to hear back. Thanks so much! R
  14. I hear ya - our officiant lives in CO!! Hopefully we'll get some clear answers soon. Thanks! I think he can just sign the paperwork later? I need to look into this more, because my dad lives in Minneapolis so I hope he doesn't have to fly in just to sign the paperwork!
  15. Has anyone from IL, even better COOK county, done this Our friend is becoming an officiant to perform the wedding in Mexico. I was under the impression that the officiant didn't need to be present in IL when preparing all of the legal paperwork. As long as the officiant signs the document(s) directly following the ceremony (which can be any where) and returns the paperwork to COOK county IL w/in 10days of our vows - our marriage was legal.
  16. Hi Amyh, So far, most of our guests are staying next door at The Westin. I was curious if The Mayan provided guests with day passes or something to access The Mayan the day of the wedding?? Did your guests just say they were there for your wedding and were escorted back to the lounge area? How did this work? Did your photographers need any sort of pass that you remember? WOW I really threw out a bunch a questions I put in a question to the hotel but they're a bit slow to respond Thanks so much! Rachel Quote: Originally Posted by amyh Rachel, are you referring to the wedding day? If so no. The Mayan does not require that you nor your guests stay at the resort for your wedding. 17. I need help with this as well. So far here are some recommedations that I have found... Rehearsal Dinner La Palapa El Dorado BocaBento Vista Grill Barcelona Tapas Welcoming Drinks DeSantos? Beach House Brunch River Cafe Nikki Beach Los Arcos Mi Querencia My FI and & are still trying to narrow down these options! I keep finding places to add instead of narrowing them down. We really need to just make the time to sit down and go through them all. Any comments ladies would be greatly appreciated Rachel
  18. Experienced Mayan Palace Brides, Did guests who did not stay at The Mayan need day passes?? Thanks, Rachel
  19. Hi JaimeLynne, I was curious to whether or not you had come to a decision regarding this... Have you tried the spray tan via a person? If so, how did you like it and how well did it wear off? I am very pale myself and normally have some color with daily build-a-tan lotions. It's not a lot of color - but it really makes a difference by giving my skin a nice even color - ya know? I'm not trying to go 3-4 shades darker. I know you can get the spray tans done in a lighter shades for us pale ladies so it looks more natural. I was considering doing this for my boudoir photo's since I'll be baring a lot of skin! HAHA I guess I should ask my photographer - I thought it would be fine for this since it's indoor lighting and not outdoor natural light... Rachel
  20. I was afraid of peeps not committing as well since I hadn't heard anything in awhile. 21. Hey Nicole, I'm in! I have been in contact with Leah about reserving a spot for her added Chicago marathon Girls - Leah books up fast and sold out of her Chicago March marathon in 48 hours! I haven't heard from some of you in awhile so if you are serious - act now! If you are really interested pleae let me know asap. I would like to try to book her. Her photos are great! Nicole
  22. Hi again! After reviewing more of Leah's work with other photog's I'm pretty much sold on going with Leah She just annouced she will be in Chicago March 6-9. Girls - what do you say?! Who's in? Let's Do It!!! Rachel Quote: Originally Posted by nsmile78 Hey girls, For those of you that are really interested we could get a suite at Hotel Monaco for around $450. We have to pay for her travel so the more girls the better. Check out her website she has great work. I'll work on finding out what her pricing is for a session. Let me know who would be interested in working with Leah.
  23. Leah I love your work!! I hope you have some availability for us in 2009 for Chicago Rachel Quote: Originally Posted by leahstaffordphotography I'll word this one a little better since my last post was deleted, sorry! -Hotel Monaco, they have very nice suites. -Affinia has a nice One Bedroom Suite -Dana Hotel and Spa. There bedrooms are small and it's very expensive to get a suite there. The rooms are very nice though and a Cozy King is sufficient. -Hotel Indigo on Gold Coast has awesome wood floors and it's very bright and colorful. Price is a little higher for a boutique hotel. Toured the James and there Apartment Suites are awesome. Also W Hotels are nice but rooms are REALLY small. Some other good hotels: Hard Rock, Peninsula (although $$) and any Kimpton hotels are nice. GL!
  24. Hi I was curious to which suite at Hotel Monaco was quoted for? I wanted to check out their pics. Do you know if the hotel would be willing to rent the room out just for a couple of hours for the photo session vs. an overnight stay? Keep us posted on availability and prices. I'm hoping to hear back from some of the other photog's girls have recommended too for comparison. I really want to do this ladies - I just want to make sure the fit is right. Photog, costs and timeframe. I'm so inspired to get in shape now!! HAHA Thanks so much!!!
