  1. Loveeeee Time Traveler's Wife ... My favorite book ever .. hands down. Did you know they're filming the movie version with Rachel McAdams & Eric Bana? Yay! Water for Elephants was excellent.
  2. I believe I have the Caribe Hitlon wedding brochure around here somewhere. Let me look.
  3. Loved: Twilight Series Sookie Stackhouse Series Little Earthquakes Love & Other Impossible Pursuits Dogs of Babel The Dirty Girls Social Club Make Him Look Good I could go on & on.
  4. I will PM you her information. The Salon Martorell is beautiful!!! Unfortunately, it was in use on our wedding day & even though we had a small wedding, I would've loved having my picture taken in there. Just so you can see what my cake looked like. It was beautiful & tasty.
  5. Ucon, I would just ask the hotel for their phone numbers. They have a list of preffered vendors & will hand out their info. What room will you be using at the Hotel? I used Salon Paoli, if you're using this one, I could send you pictures. BTW, will you be serving cake? If you don't already have a cake vendor, my girl was fabulous!
  6. Wedding planners are not included in your wedding package but the girls there will help you with anything you need. For our ceremony, we contracted a band for our reception & they played our ceremony music. Evie, violinist, pianist & a soprano singing sound beautiful!
  7. My wedding was fabulous!!!! I absolutely loved it. It rained the day before & the day after so we picked the perfect weekend. I was married in their courtyard & I loved the location. Plus, it was great just walking into our reception hall. For my hair & makeup, I'm originally from PR so I went to a beauty salon in my hometown. If you're looking for vendors, I would recommend using Bodas Puerto Rico | Bodaclickpr It is in Spanish but I found a couple of the companies I hired on there. I considered hiring a Makeup/Hair lady because her work looked beautiful, she has a foto gallery there. I believe her name is Mayra Sanchez. Go to the website & click on the tab on the top that says Bodas Puerto Ricio Guia de suplidores de boda. Vendors will be listed by category on the left hand side. Clickon Belleza & Salud para Novias & then the bullet point Peinado & Maquillaje. There are a couple of options for you there & I believe they all have picture galleries. Good luck!
  8. Here are my beautiful centerpieces. I wanted something in my bouquet colors, didn't have anything specific in mind & my florist came up with this. She used the big leaves in the vase to cover up the stems & they looked fabulous. It has roses, lilies, African daisies, hydrangeas, carnations, etc.
  9. This was the inspiration cake, I wanted more or less than same thing but all round tiers & no flowers. And here's my beautiful cake.
  10. Hi, girls! I just got married at El Convento on 03/07/09. If you have any questions regarding the hotel, let me know & I'll try to help you.
  11. Ohh, I love this. Might steal this idea for our cake table.
  12. Here's my inspiration bouquet: I love it! My colors are brown & pink & I think it would look great against them.
  13. I'm 23 days away!!! Eeeekkk! Uconn, I will be married at Hotel El Convento which is right across from the SJ Cathedral. It might be an option for you. It's a beautiful hotel that was originally a convent. Check it out here --- San Juan Hotels, Puerto Rico Luxury Vacations & PR Room Reservations - Hotel El Convento They have been very helpful & have answered the 50,000 questions I've thrown their way. I will be sure to post pics once I'm back.
  14. Thanks for this. I'm looking for a projector & some of the vendors you have listed were able to provide estimates.

  16. If any brides want to have pictures taken at El Morro, just wanted to let you know that you do not need a permit if it's just you, groom & photographer. You can even enter El Morro & have pictures taken inside. If there is any extra equipment or personnel, you will need to submit the paperwork for the Photo Permit with the $50 fee.
  17. It is beautiful. I saw a Travel Channel show where a girl celebrated her Quinceañero there. It looked amazing.
  18. Hi, Evie. Sorry it's taken so long to answer your questions but I've been a bit busy, I just had my baby. We will be marrying at the Hotel El Convento. We chose a Florist from my hometown in PR, so all my flower arrangements will be made & my family will pick them up & deliver to the hotel. As far as a band, my parents found a band they really liked & recommended so we will be using them. We chose not to choose a DJ. What room are you marrying in? Sorry I couldn't be more help!
  19. Sam, you do what's best for you & your groom! Will you still be married at El Conquistador?
  20. Hi, Cruiseconfused!!! Welcome! I was originally a cruise bride but decided we wanted to spend more time with our guests so we will be getting married in SJ first & then sailing off on our cruise honeymoon. When's your wedding date?
