DId you hire an outside WC? I feel your pain! As DW brides we have to deal with so much stuff that seems to be out of our control since we can't just show up at their office and make them answer our questions. Tammy mentioned getting an outside WC. Is this a common thing to do? Does it help to have someone there to stay on Fabio or Nancy? Does anyone have any recommendations? Costs? Thanks
  2. I agree that this the DJ is one of the most important things! I would assume too that it is the same DJ as Azul Beach because of Lomas Travel. Do we know of any good reviews from Lomas DJ's? I am putting this on my list to ask about for the site visit
  3. I hope it is not the same DJ as Azul Beach. I remember a wedding review where the only thing she didn't like about her wedding was the DJ, b/c he didn't do any announcing of first dance, cake cutting, etc. and the bride ended up picking the songs during the reception. Does anyone know if it is the same DJ from Azul Beach?
  4. Wow great idea! I think I will jump on the bandwagon and steal this idea too.
  5. Thanks so much for your review. It's completely helpful to read them.
  6. Hey manders, thanks for the reply. So helpful. I will definitely check that website out

I don't think that $1160 per person is bad either. Just think if you had people coming from out of town into NY. They would pay for flight, transportation to and from hotel, and hotel too. (which can easily add up in NY) And then the prices for food, drinks and getting around NY would really add up too. So in then end, you are probably saving your guests money.
  8. Welcome! This is a great resource that you will love.
  9. Hi Manders I saw that you have sent out your save the dates. That's great because that is a lot of work in itself and such an important thing to get done. I noticed you already had people booked and know of some that are not attending. Did you put a response card on your save the dates?

  11. I just got a confirmed meeting on October 3rd at 11amwith the resort for a site visit. I am so excited, b/c I was nervous that my trip was too close to the opening to get an actual appointment. I promise to take lots of pics and come back with lots of information
  12. Does anyone know if the photographer Elizabeth Medina is approved for Azul Sensatori? I saw that she has done weddings at Azul Beach.
  13. Hi JHarwood2Be: No I haven't set up an appointment with anyone yet. We booked our trip and then became very intersted in Azul Sensatori and now realize that it is very close to the opening. Now we wished we had booked it later, but hopefully someone will be able to meet with us. I filled out an application and am also going to call tomorrow to try to get someone so that I can set up an appointment. I have emailed, but don't know if I am emailing the right person. Does anyone have a good email address or phone number to set up an appointment for the site visit? I am also looking at Eurostar Blue Tulum and Ana y Jose Beach club. Both of those are farther away from the airport, so that's a con for those two. Can't wait to go visit and see the places.
  14. Hi Everybody! I am leaning towards Azul Sensatori. I have loved reading the posts on this thread (it really is such valuable info) The FI and I are planning a site visit to the area on Oct 1-5, 2008. I will come back with lots of pics and questions answered. Can't wait to get some stuff answered and have some solid options for venues. Abby

  17. Hi Lizzy, did you post the pics of your daughter's wedding at Ana y Jose Beach Club. I am very interested in that place but have not seen many pics. thanks Abby
  18. I saw this picture of a wedding at Dreams Tulum on Elizabeth Medina's blog. Can anyone tell me which option this is for a reception? Private or semi-private? Can you have a DJ at this reception site? thanks
