Can anyone confirm with me that the system is 100% IPOD compatible. I have even purchased a back up IPOD, just to be safe. I would convert to CD but Itunes does not allow for it. The date is getting so close and I am barley sleeping at all these days, I never thought it would be like this. Hey Amy, I think that if you have two ipods you should be fine. I remember Gilberto telling me that someone from Lomas will be there to help you set up your ipod. Hope this helps. And good luck planning. I know that it will be beautiful!
  2. lilmisssunshine - the invites that I posted are from Designs by MK- Wedding. Please tell them Abby sent you.
  3. Hi Joanna - I will answer what I do know for you. The picture that Fabio sent you with the round area surrounded by palm trees is right in the middle of the resort. On either side of this setup are rows of rooms. As far as food, you do need to have your guests choices for which entree they choose. Carolina said we could have different colored place cards (i.e. fish=purple and steak=white) or the entree stated on the name card. And this must be in 45 days b/f your wedding date. Love the website with the lanterns. When we did our site visit Carolina mentioned that we could do lanterns. But I have not gotten approval from Fabio about it. So I know that getting his approval is very important. My wedding isn't for another year, so I haven't asked Fabio yet. Does anyone else out there know if Fabio/Nancy have approved lanterns? I agree with you, Joanna, that lanterns would be so beautiful! I did see the beach in Puerto Morelos, it is very pretty. With fine white sand. There was a lot of seaweed, but I read that this is local to the entire coast. And some resorts make sure to do a clean up of the seaweed before the ceremony. Don't know about Sensatori. Here is a pic that we took at Azul Beach - which is right down from Sensatori. Please excuse our feet
  4. jhawkev - I used destinationweddings.com too and they were horrible. Actually haven't called me back in over a month and then sent me an email addressed to "Meg" and my name is "Abby" How did you get your money back?

  6. Tracy_S I am so excited for our weddings to be so close. We will definitely have to meet up
  7. The name of the company is Designs by MK- Wedding. They are great and completely customize and work with your budget. Please tell them Abby sent you
  8. Ania - In one of the packets, it said that all private dinners i.e. receptions must end by 11pm. So after this, if your party continues, most of the bars stay open til 1am so you can go to one of those places. Beacher2Be - I think I remember them saying that you can use that 40 person dinner for something other than your reception. And I think I remember El Dorado Royale brides doing that for their welcome dinners. mitchell.johanna - thanks for posting that pic! I love it! It's so beatiful!!!

Thought you might want to check with your TA if you haven't already! I am the most dissapointed bride right now!!! Hi Andrea, I am so sorry about this situation. I am definitely sending good thoughts your way. What a stressful thing to deal with. Where are thinking of moving you? If you look at the brides that had to move their wedding from Dreams Tulum, everyone turns out to be happy and more than satisfied with their wedding. So even if it does get changed, the Karisma hotels are all very nice.
  10. Hey Girls I found the best place for customized invitations and they really work with your budget. They send you a questionnaire and based upon your answers, they send you a selection of papers, charms and fonts to choose from. Then they send you samples in the mail. Here are some pics. They are a great company. Let me know if you want their info.
  11. I just got my samples for my Save the Dates in and love them. I found the company online and they are awesome b/c they really work with your budget. I wanted to make the STD's more like an invitation with enclosure cards so I can put info like accomodations, travel agent, etc. If you want the company's info PM me, and I can get it to you.

MexicanBridewithQuestions, the photos that you posted of a private reception at Azul Beach are a little misleading. You couldn't possibly know this but the smaller Chill restaurant doesn't even look the way it does in the photos. It is a totally enclosed restaurant with glass and is FREZING cold because they have the AC cranked. I have also seen a photo of the main restaurant being used for a private reception, and I know that probably the only way that could happen is if the couple booked almost the entire hotel. My brother in law got married and the weather there was terrible and they cancelled his beach reception and made them eat their dinner in the enclosed part of the main restaurant where no one ever sat. They would not let them have any of the nice restaurants for their private reception and they still charged them for the beach one. That being said, I still think that they did a nice job for the wedding, and the next day there was another wedding and it was beautiful and they had their reception on the beach. Also, I am booking with The Wedding Holiday like a few other people on here and am interested in hearing from the others who have booked with them. Are any of you going on the site visit in November? I took a site visit when I was there in June and I have to tell you that some things have changed dramatically and others haven't. Like the reception area and the rooftop are almost exactly the same. I was FREAKING out when I saw the new photos but my Dad is in Construction and he said that November should be fine. I also have to say that this site has been a lifesaver as I felt totally in the dark about everything. Now that I have seen the recent photos and read what all of your have to say, I am content that the hotel will be opening on time in November and that by the time I get married in January, everything will be fantastic. Finally, the Azul Beach had the most fantastic food and service. Everything was amazing and its a big reason why I booked my wedding at a Karisma property. I know that Congratulations on getting your wedding confirmed. That is definitely the hardest part. From now on, it is much easier. You don't have to book the entire hotel at Azul Beach to use the main restaurant. As Carolina said, it depends on the occupancy level of the hotel. So, this couple that had their reception at Blue, the main restaurant, could have had their wedding during a time when not many other guests were staying there. And weddings at Azul Beach can only be up to 50 people, so there is no way to rent out the entire hotel for a wedding. This is the same at Sensatori. You can have your reception at a restuarant, it just depends on how many people are staying at the hotel during the time you have your wedding. And the reception that took place at Chill. Is at Chill b/c the light fixtures exactly match with the Chill Restaurant when I was there. The way it is set up with the bar is also exactly the same at Chill too. And yes, they usually do have it enclosed in glass. But you can also move these glass panels too. Just wanted to clear it up.

Or is this person considered a guest that does not need approval?

Also, last question....if you get married around the pool are kids in the pool when you are getting married or are they asked to leave early? Thanks! In reference to the kids in the pool. It will depend on what time you are having your reception. My FI and I remember at Azul Beach there was a time that the pool closed, but I can't remember the time. Also, if it is at night, there will probably not be anyone in the pool either.

Category Music - List of products - Welcome, Guest Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya As someone else suggested, we're probably going to pay to fly someone out as a "guest," and have them emcee the event (we don't feel right asking one of our real guests to emcee, and we want someone announcing the wedding party, first songs, cake cutting, etc.). Our concern, however, was with the quality of the rental system. I've had a question out to Fabio asking about the specifications of the rental system for weeks (with reminders), but no response : ( I'm glad you asked and were told that the quality was the same -- but slightly concerned that different people seem to be saying different things! yes it is hte "amplifier for private events" Gilberto assured us it is the same quality as the DJ. But I do understand it's hard to know what to believe with so many conflicting answers. I know there were some weddings at El Dorado Royale that used the ipod option. Since they both go through Lomas, I would recommend PM'ing one of the brides to see what they think about the quality.
  18. they showed us the meeting facility. but it wasn't finished yet, really just a concrete room so we didn't take pictures, b/c you couldn't tell what it's going to look like. Carolina did say that you can do private dinners in some of the restaurants, but it depends on the occupancy level of the hotel. she said that 60 days before the date of the private dinner they will make the call on whether or not you can do it in one of the restaurants. but when you look at weddings pics at azul beach, they use the restaurants Like this one, this is one of the restaurants at Azul Beach called "Chill", and they used it as the reception area for this wedding this is the another restaurant at Azul Beach called Blue, and they had their reception at the restaurant hope this answers your question. let me know if you have any more
  19. For the DJ we are toying with the idea of asking someone (not on the guest list) that we know to be the emcee and man the ipod. And then pay for their room and airfare to Azul. (It might equal out to about the same for the amount if you paid Lomas for the DJ) But it is hard to find someone that you are not offending b/c you aren't really inviting them to the wedding. What do you think? Can you think of any other ideas?

They did show us the meeting space that is just off the lobby. But it wasn't finished yet (mostly concrete) And so we didn't take pictures of it. The restaurants were a little more done. But still hard to tell the personality of the restaurants Outside of Zocalo This is Sienna the Italian restaurant I think this is Spoon b/c of the open kitchen. The rest we didn' t take pics of b/c they weren't close to finishing it and hard to tell what it's going to look like. Carolina didn't know exactly the number of guests that is allowed at each ceremony site (besides 80 for the Sky deck). They were still determining those things.

  22. Quote: Originally Posted by Solidshan83 Abby, NO English? What about the first dance and father daughter dance? NO ENGLISH? Can a guest make the announcements?? Yes, guest can make announcements. In fact, Gilberto suggested getting someone from your party to be the emcee. He said the DJ is there to play the music. I did ask Gilberto about the quality of the iPod speakers. And he said that the iPod speaker quality is equal to the DJ speakers. And someone from Lomas will help you in setting up the iPod speakers to make sure it works correctly. with both of these options a microphone is included
