  1. Congratulations and welcome. We almost chose EDSS for our wedding, but our families enjoy the buffets too much and couldn't deal with an all a la carte restaurant. Happy planning!
  2. We aren't getting married in PV, but we're staying an extra week at another resort for the honeymoon. Your plan to move to the new Dreams resort sounds wonderful.
  3. I didn't know you were coming to this area for your honeymoon. It's beautiful here! Let me know if you need any details about the area for planning, especially Victoria. I know only a little about Whistler, but one of my friends used to work up there, so I can probably get you some information. February is high season up there, so I recommend booking that stuff in advance, if possible. Also, if you tell your hotels that you are on your honeymoon, they will often provide you with cool amenities (treats) for your room when you arrive. We're staying in Mexico for our honeymoon. Our plan is for the wedding/honeymoon to be a 2 week vacation Cheers, Jennifer
  4. Our ceremony is at 4pm, so we'll likely go from ceremony to pics to dinner. I'm not sure we need to pay for a cocktail hour as there won't be much time to kill before dinner and we can always just go to a bar and get drinks. However, we might do cake and champaign before dinner (to get the cake cutting pictures while we still have a photographer) .... too many decisions.
  5. My dress is really simple, so I want to have a say in what the her dress looks like. I don't want her to be fancier than me That being said, my sis is my MOH and she will let me pick anything for her to wear. She's not the picky one. My main issue is my Mom, she wants me to buy my sis essentially the same dress I bought (heck no) and then alter it to look different .... I would rather just go shopping to find something we all like.
  6. We aren't shipping our stuff, but we also are only purchasing smaller items that we can fit in our suitcases. This also leaves us tons of room for buying souvenirs down there as we'll have extra room in the cases coming home.
  7. Hi, I just did a quick look on expedia.ca. It looks like the packages offered by Sunquest have been sold out, but Sunwing is still booking. Alternatly, it looks like there are independent flight through Westjet, Air Canada, Delta, and American that go there if you don't mind booking separately. I bet if you dig around you can find some more options. Good Luck! Jennifer
  8. Welcome and happy planning. I think your goal of February is achievable. Good luck!
  9. Welcome and happy planning from your neighbour on the rainy island next door
  10. Welcome to the forum. I agree with some of the others that picking the location is one of the hardest parts. Once that is done, the rest starts to fall into place. Jennifer
  11. Hello, I have a gown for sale from my first wedding. It's Sincerity gown in white. It's off shoulder with sweetheart neckline. It has boning and a corset-style closure in the back with a sweep train and a one-point bustle. It's a size 10 and was hemmed for someone about 5'4" (in heels). It's in great condition, but could probably use cleaning or would be perfect for a TTD. I'm hoping for $400. Please PM if interested. Jennifer
  12. I found my dress today!!!! It's been ordered and will be here by early December. WOOHOO!! Now to find a BM dress (at least I only have to find one).
  13. Here's mine. I absolutely love it. My fiance did a wonderful job picking a ring that suits me perfectly. It's got Canadian diamonds. The picture from the website shows it much better than anything I can take of my hand. Jennifer
  14. Welcome to the forum! Happy planning. You'll find a lot of resources here to help plan your wedding.
  15. I'd love to hear what you find out about the cocktail hour. We have less than 40 guests for sure (only about 20, if even that), so we just need to decide if it's a la carte or buffet.
  16. Welcome to the forum and happy planning!
  17. Welcome and happy planning!
  18. Welcome and happy planning You've come to the right place for all the information you are looking for. Search through the Riviera Maya section for more details.
  19. I think you should also ignore etiquette for the RSVP date. Due to the group booking, etc. we sent out our invites in June with an RSVP date in July - we didn't bother with the STD's and went straight to invites. Based on that, we know who may book last minute and why and who is definitely not coming. Good luck!
