  1. As for delivery to Mexico...I posted a thread on this, but I have the most wonderful mommy in the world who drove from Idaho and picked it all up in a truck (she even bought a camper top that goes on her Sporttracker to ensure it was kept dry and locked up safely) and drove it to Cabo (about 4300 miles round trip). She had so much fun she is cancelling her flights and doing it again for the actual wedding to take the rest of my stuff (yes, there is a lot more but I told her she can't take the dress).

  4. WOW! Amy you did an amazing job! Your post was one of the first I saw in joining BDW. I am so excited for you and know you will have a wonderful wedding. You are so organized and everything looks wonderful! Enjoy your special day and bring us lots of pics!
  5. WHY WHEN I POST DOES IT REMOVE MY BLACKED OUT LINES? DOes someone know how to fix this? Invite wording RSVP & Misc card All the inserts
  6. YEAH! My last major project is done and in the mail. This was a doozie! I designed them all myself as the local inviation shops refused to allow me to pick my text/color. I had a major issue getting them printed as it was a small order (only 50 invites). I bought the woven grasspaper for $100 plus shipping (for 5 huge sheets, I have 2 left) from Paper.com Shopping Cart I bought 2 sets of blue paper, the first from Thailand and did not have enough so (of course after I cut it all and could not order any more as it was discontinued...great) I had to change paper. i ordered the Carribean Blue cardstock from Cards & pockets. I paid to have them cut this time and was very disappointed as they cut them incorrectly and I had to recut them all. So 2 sizes of cut paper (45 of each) and 25 sheets of 8 1/2x11 was $59.00 I bought all of my envelopments paper at Where's The Party in Newport Beach (which is amazing but I did not like the designer who I was trying to use for design/assembly so I gave up and did my own, saving me about $700). Envelopments: Ecru Micha color Pocketfolds were $2.00 8 1/2x11 paper was .65 (I printed and cut all myself) RSVP envelopes were .35 Large envelopes were .50 Total Envelopments: $140 Designed colors I used from my Logo I made. Heart Motif I used from my Logo I made. 2 bags of mini crystals (4.99 each) and crystal glue $5.00 Printing: No one would do my small batch except Kinko's and they won't do envelops. Invite Printing on 8 1/2x11 paper at Kinko's-$41 Printed the evelops at home Stamps: outside envelop I used a beach heart photo with date that I took when I was in Cabo for Xmas. I ordered 3 sheets of stamps from PitneyBowes which did it through StampExpressions. Do not order from them on a rush! I paid a ton extra to have them in 1-3 days versus 1-3 biz days or regular and I did not get htem for 7 days. There was no phone number to call and service was horrible. They were not as good a quality as the ones I got for my STD from zazzle.com. $134.00 Inside: standard green wedding heart from PostOffice $16.80 Ribbon I bought to to match my ribbon on the wrapped fans and card tags. $4.99 Caligraphy was $120 Entire invitations cost including postage, printing, all paper, etc: $641.00. My inspiration was an Encore iinvitation that was about $1400 not including postage and not in my colors. My mom and I sat for two nights assembling them (about 15 hours between the 2 days....OUCH) Guests have begain receiving them and say they look very professional and had no idea we made them! YEAH! Here are the pic (sorry for the squiggly lines I wasn't sure how to black stuff out. The paper was so shiny they were hard to photograph) Our assembly Line Us working until 1am (again) Outside of pocket & Envelope Caligraphy Pocket Seal Open Invite Motif with Crystal Few more:
  7. I am using the harp trio and they are amazing! They auditioned for me and then the following night they played a coctail party I attended. They were lovely! I believe we are being charged $280 an hour for the 3 people. I don't have any communication with them as my chef booked it for us. I found most musicians to be about $300 an hour as we are using a mariachi band of 10 which is $484/hour, 2 spanish guitarists (one is $275 and one is $350), and the harp trio. Good Luck!
  8. How about Pedi's by the pool? I had this done in Hawaii (Maui) where they came to you at the pool so you didn't have to give up sun/cocktail time to go to the spa? I am sure if you have more than a couple to do they wouldn't have any issue doing this. JUst a thought as I was thinking about this too. Not enough time for an excursion in a week with so many planned functions and allowing people the vacation they came on.
  9. Thanks All! Very excited I ordered the jewelry for the jewelry boxes today. On the robes, I only put something on the back of mine (est. 4/4/09 with rhinestones). I left the others blank as we are not having a wedding party or I would have put BM or something.

I didn't see who made it but it looked like a typical narrow flat iron, but it had little groves on the end and she would wrap it (one piece at a time) with one turn around the iron and then pull down. She explained it to me (in spanish so loose translation here) that it straightens and then curls at the same time. this was good for someone like me that has such naturrally curly hair (which people usually use rollers on my natural curl to get it to hold because if we blow it out, then flatten it to remove frizzies, it will never hold). She told me that on the wedding day, she will wash/blow it out the night before to be worn strait and then use this iron thingy on it the day of and it will look better. FYI...my I traveled with strait hair on Sat. (blown out friday night) and she did my hair on monday so it was a MESS to start. I was surprised she could get it to do anything. I have tried to google flat curling iron and have not found it yet. I am goign to go to a salon and ask. looked like a Chi iron as it was black with gold plates. about 1" wide.
  11. So after hours and hours of invite assembly (saving me over $1000 on my invites that I had to have), they look great (even if my non-able DIY self thinks so). I got my envelops to the caligrapher on Friday and she had them done on Monday (love Annie in Newport Beach, she is FAB!). They looked great when I picked them up but if you touch them, they smear. YIKES! I have a very nice metalic envelop so I am assuming this is what is causing it. I paid $2.5 each to have them done and am fine iwth that, but here is my issue.... I smeared 4 before I figured it out while stuffing them (of course 2 are to his family and not people that are not coming). Do I have these redone (am waiting on my dang stamps to get here....arghhh...anyway) or not bother because I am afraid the post office is goign to mess them all up anyway? Should I throw them all away and start over on a different envelop because the PO is not goign to know not to touch them and most likely smear in delivery especially since 10 are going out of the country? Help! So sad after all that work! I will post pics of full invites in a separate thread when I get my stamps in and can show the whole package.
  12. Welcome! I may be biased, but I think Cabo is a great choice. There is a ton of great info. I couldn't have done it without these ladies. I feel orgainized without a weddinf planner and not living where we are getting married. The reviews/suggestions really help!

I had to order 2 boxes and I was mistaken they are about $25 per box. Here is a nextag link to search them: Advantus Resealable Badge Holder, 2-5/8 x 3-3/4, Vertical, Prepunched, 50 per Box: Compare Prices, View Price History and Read Reviews at NexTag Sorry if I previously confused, I mixed them up with my luggage tag badges which were 100 to a box for 11.99. 15. I have searched all over Direct TV for this excercise TV or anything with Jillian Michaels....nothing.....I guess I will have to buy it. I just realized I have only 2.5 mos to the wedding and need to lose 10lbs plus tone (less than that if I opt to use all the lingerie I just bought in a BD shoot). YIKES! I should have started before the holidays....

  17. We are doing this for our welcome party as well-ancho rubbed seabass and lobster tacos. We had a party in May in Cabo and Lazy Gourmet did this for us then which is where we got the idea to ahve it as one of our stations for the welcome party. It is great because it is fresh and interactive.

They found a property in Punto Chivato (where our family close friend now lives) that they are going to try to buy so they can do it all the time for the winters. It is very safe and the people are amazing. I have not done in almost 10 years but now that FI heard their story I can convince him to do it as he was a little leary before as well.

I bought chargers and everythign for 50 so I am hoping some people back out due to the economy (that is mean, and sad, but true). I think it is a wonderful spot for a Honeymoon~ the honeymoon suites are right on the beach and being finished this month. They are letting me use one of these to get ready in so I am not walking around the property. They are opening another one for my guests to enter the beach through as that was the best beach location and it is a private suite with private steps down to the sand. The suites have a private pool, unobstructed ocean views, privacy walls, and an outdoor shower access from your bathroom to your pool. I can send you pics of them underconstruction from last month but didn't want to post to the site as they were not finished yet. They will be open to the public on 5/1 or possibly earlier. The hotel is 5 star and will be comprable to One & Only and Las Ventanas. Their goal is to surpass both in service and amenities.
  22. I booked DJ Ricardo and have met with him in person. He is great with his english and was wonderful to work with. I have not met DJ Mijares so I cannot comment on him but I am very happy with my choice of DJ Ricardo. I love his response time and he is very efficient and thinks about things that I did not like where do they enter at the hotel because they would not usually come through the main property, where they can run cords, what type of outlets they have for how much juice the equip needs, etc.
  23. I have lived in Cabo and used to teach school in Pedregal. The housing development up to Pedregal is gated, but I have never had an issue getting in. At the gate house, you tell them where you are going. If you know the person's name or house name they usually let you in. There is currently a chain at the bottom of the road where the guy just lowers in and waives you through. This chain will be moving in a month or so when our property Capella Pedregal opens completely to the public as they have added a gate there to the tunnel to this particular property only. Catering I would use Lazy Gourmet. I have no idea on villa fees for trashing as I have only been to friends private residences there.
  24. It worked! Thank you so much! I have been offline for a few days assembling (15 hours of assembly with mom and I on the invites...will post a thread tonight)! Thanks fo your help! I had an issue with printing as no one would print the envelops in small quantity or wouldn't do evelops at all. So I had to mix it up so the print doesn't match but at this point...oh well. I printed the invite pages/seal at Kinko's which was only $40 and the colors matched my Pantones perfectly. As they couldn't do envelops, I printed my RSVP ones at home (one by one or they wouldn't print straight due to so small) and I was able to print the 5.5x7.5 ones at work for the back flap return address (which I couldn't do my invites there as it didn't like the thick paper and left marks all over it) or the small eveleops as they were too small. So the print on the outer envelops does not match my pantones and was more of a darker/royal blue than the peacock blue. But who cares! They are done and with the caligrapher today getting addressed. I am ordering my personalized stamps online today and will hopefully have them in the mail by Tuesday. YEAH! Thanks again for your help, I was getting frustrated.
  25. These are fantastic! I love the sepia ones. I really like how your photographer used different angles and locations on site. Very special and you look beautiful!
