  1. I went to a wedding at Villa Del Sol in ZIH....we also stayed there. IT was FABULOUS! Wedding was only 10 people but beautiful. OUr rooms were outstanding as the living room is outdoors with no walls looking over a pond and the ocean. The bride/grooms room shower was outdoors (private) and fabulous. I seriously considered doing mine there so you may want to look at it as well as Tides. Good Luck
  2. Congratulations! I amnewly engaged as well and are finalizing the date tomorrow. I am hoping that is the toughest part. As for your locations: I just got back from St. Lucia and it is AMAZING! We stayed at the Anse Chastanet and I saw 5 weddings while there and would highly recommend it. The brides were all relaxed and happy. Only downfall is depending on wher you live it is hard to get to (13 hours from Ca) We are getting married in Cabo (as it is close and we have a residence there). Cabo is beautiful but way more built up. Have stayed in NEgril at the Grand Lido and my best friend got married there. Also Lovely. You cannot go wrong with any of your choices! Good luck and enjoy
  3. As a newbie....I realize I am just at the begining of the issues but....did anyone have any issues picking a date around holidays and family schedules? My family was easy, set the date and they will be there. His family is in Ireland and I am now stuck with Easter week due the kids school schedule. Does anyone else have issues with getting married the week before or of a holiday? Am I just crazy? Any advice? Thanks in advance
  4. Definitely inches. As you lose fat and gain muscle, your weight will not appear to be going down as muscle weighs more than fat. My trainer looks solely at my inches and % of body fat lost per week. Keep at it, 17 inches is amazing! Congratulations on sticking to it!
  5. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Remember this is your special day with your man and if your dream wedding is a DW, then go without them. I just saw a couple get married in St. Lucia when I was there 2 weeks ago and they used the hotel employees as their witnesses and had a wonderful time. She took yoga in the morning, they went scuba diving and had a stress free day (and saved a bundle). I have to admit, we thought about doing it with just 2 or 4 people after watching their wedding. In the end it is all about the two of you and no one else so have the wedding YOU want. Wishing this gets easier for you
  6. This is a great question for us all to consider as we choose our photographer. For me, I have a few requirements: -2 photographers, to capture it all from multiple viewpoints -photo journalism with one of the photographers. I want my images to show the emotions and over all feel, not just posed pictures -include hi-res DVD if album purchased -touchups done ont he album -not to be killed on price for buying additional albums as I have 4 seperate parents to buy parent books for. Hope this helps!
  7. Congrats!!!! We are in the same boat...just starting and setting sail for Mexico! Happy planning
  8. I was there last week and the sun was setting about 7:45. Not sure if this helps, but...if DST is the same next year it will give you an idea.
  9. I used to live in San Jose and we flew out of Oakland all the time as the best priced tickets were always with Sun Trips, you may want to check if they still do the flights.
  10. Thank you all! We have bought a residence at Capella that will be completed in October so we are planning on getting married there at the resort (hoping it is all complete). I was goign to use the restaurants catering or Lazy Gourmet as they are fantastic. My mom is florist so I am trying to figure out how to get wholesale flowers for her to design some of it. Now I just need to work on details I will most likely need a lot of help but not sure I need a WC...thoughts?
  11. Thank you Maura....Unfortunately after living in Mexico I figured there wouldn't be a way but I have to try-I will call her wholesaler and see if they have connections in Mx city. Thanks
  12. Hi Amy, I just spent a weekend in cabo with LG as the caterer's for all our events and were planning on using them for the wedding. Was the fee for Patricia a flat fee or a % of the overall cost? Thank you, Kerry
  13. Has anyone ever imported flowers to Cabo? My mother is a florist and I always dreamed of her doing my flowers if & When. It is now here and I cannot imagine having my flowers done by someone else? Any ideas on how to get wholesale flowers in Cabo? Thanks in advance, Kerry
